In an area centered around a large stadium, Happy Happy Fun World's celebration of one of the multiverse's many popular pastimes sat. CAPTCHABEASTS: Hafta Claim 'Em All. A sport, and widespread multimedia franchise, where people caught little semi-sentient super powered animals and had them beat the crud out of each other.

Aside from Captchaland's Stadium, there were several other attractions. Musical Shows with singing Jinglyfluff's, a Merry-Go-Round where you could ride seats based on on some of the larger four-legged Captchabeasts instead of horses, Bumper Cars based on two teams of villains from the popular Captchabeasts animated holoshow, a Ferris Wheel with CaptchaCrate based cars, and a rollercoaster based on the legendary Skyzacoatl that looped over the stadium itself, among others.

If you were feeling particularly adventurous and competitive, or just wanted to watch a battle, there was the aforementioned stadium. Spectators went through the main entrance, while a smaller doorway was reserved for competitors.

If you'd made the decision to enter a battle, and entered the competitors entrance, after you'd registered you have two options. You could either borrow one of the numerous rental Captchabeasts, or if you had your own (or universal equivalent) you could make the challenge with them. Competitors were limited to using three Captchabeasts at a time during a match.

"Alright, Piplup...this is it!" Dawn had heard about the stadium sometime before coming to this part of the world.

"Lup!" Piplup was equally fired up to start.

"I hope you're ready...because I challenge YOU~!"

Taichi couldn't pass this up, even if he wasn't allowed to evolve Agumon higher than a single level, it was still a fair fight. "You ready buddy?"

"Oh yeah!" exclaimed Agumon, staring down his opponent, the smaller Piplup. "Ready and willing, Taichi!"

"All right, let's get this started!"

The rules were pretty self-explanatory: the first one who passed out was unable to battle, and it was one-on-one.

"Okay Piplup, use Bubblebeam!"

"Pip...LUP,LUP,LUP!" Within seconds, Agumon would see a literal shower of bubbles headed in his direction!

"C'mon Agumon, let's go!" exclaimed Taichi, pumping a hand into the air.

"Yossha!" Chrging in, he darted around the bubbles as he opened his mouth, flames burning inside it. "Baby Flame!"

"Dodge it!" Dawn cried out, to which Piplup leaped into the air and seemingly spun past the ball of fire as it soared by!

"Now, use Peck!"

"Lup!" The Penguin-type straightened out, his beak appearing to grow longer and glow, before moving to start pecking at Agumon's head!

"Owowowowow!" exclaimed Agumon, taking a swipe at Piplup with a claw.

"Block it and force Piplup back, Agumon!" exclaimed Taichi.

"Okay, Piplup - use Bide attack, now!" Dawn called out, Piplup narrowly taking some damage and landing safely to the ground as Agumon's claw made contact.

"Piplup! Piiiiip...!" After a few seconds of being enveloped with a semi-bright light, Piplup stood at attention.

Dressed in a green dress (http://gallery.minitokyo.net/view/392078) with cream-colored leggings and backed up by absolutely nothing, Izumi came forward.

"I accept your challenge!" she declared confidently.

"Really?" Dawn did a double take at realizing who had accepted her challenge; she heard about Izumi being one of the latest unpodded people, but...

"What about your partner? If you don't have a Pokemon, you should at least have a...Digimon, is that right?"

"I don't need one," Izumi explained, taking out her digivice. An irridescent ring of data appeared around her hand as she scanned it with the digivice.

"Spirit Evolution!"

A cocoon of digicode surrounded Izumi, changing her form entirely. Gone was the young blonde girl. In her place was a taller, more mature, purple-haired fairy.

"Fairymon!"

Looking at Dawn, she asked, "Will this do?"

"Beautiful..." Dawn had watched Izumi's Spirit Evolution from start to finish and knew one thing: if this had been a contest, she would've lost a LOT of points!

"...Y-yeah, this'll do just fine!" Dawn would've lost a few more due to her momentary staring at Fairymon. "Buneary, Spotlight!"

A small, cute bunny-like Pokemon appeared before Fairymon wearing a vest with a heart on it; the two pieces of said heart were on either side.

"How cute!" Fairymon positively squeed upon seeing Buneary. "All ready to go?"

"Wait-not yet!" Dawn bent down and helped pull Buneary's vest off, the rabbit Pokemon bowing respectfully at Fairymon and replying with "Bun~!" a moment later.

"Okay, we're ready!"

It wasn't Pokemon, but it was close enough for Ash, who'd been itchin' to have someone new to fight. He'd battled trainer on board Stacy at least once, and while he could use the sensoriums, it wasn't the same as challenging a flesh-and-blood trainer.

"Alright, come on. Let's do this." He said excitedly. PkMn Trainer ASH would really like to battle.

PkMn Coordinator DAWN was equally as ready, though she kinda knew Ash would find his way here eventually.

"Hope you're ready, Ash~! No hard feelings whoever wins, right?"

"HERACRAH!" The Bug/Fighting type landed on the field, grinning in anticipation for the battle.

"Hey, what's that supposed to mean?" Dawn frowned irritably at Ash before plucking a Pokeball of her own from her belt. It wasn't her fault that the two had battled a few times before being podded and unpodded.

"Heracross, huh? To counter a Grass-type Pokemon...QUILAVA, SPOTLIGHT~!" The much smaller Fire-type Pokemon landed opposite Heracross, flames appearing on his back instantly upon being released.

"QuiLAVA!!"

"I didn't mean anything by it. There's just a whole bunch of new trainers from different places I wanted to battle against, that's all." Ash answered as she threw the Poke Ball. "Quilava? Not a problem. We'll just have to hit 'em hard and fast. Use Focus Punch!"

Heracross rocketed forward, eyes focused and fist glowing, as he prepared to strike the fire-type with everything he had.

"...I guess you're forgiven." Dawn replied with a small smile that grew within seconds. "Smokescreen, Quilava!"

It didn't take long for the majority of the field to be covered in black smoke that completely obscured the Fire-type from Heracross' view.

While she was very much not a social person(though she was trying...), Sabrina after noticing the similarity between the two and spotting Ash, decided to join in for once. A rare smile corssed her lips as she called out Kadabra. "If you do not mind, perhaps we can have a battle?"
