Harry Potter was, inexplicably, unbelievably (given the circumstances) bored.

Then again, maybe it wasn't so much boredom as the fact that he was used to running and fighting and running and mulling over puzzles and running and fighting and so on and so forth, that being stationary for so long was difficult to get used to. Knowing even more was to come had him keyed up with a sort of nervous energy that was difficult to disperse.

He tried fighting holograms with his magic in the Sensoriums, but that didn't help him in the least bit, because he only got more ramped up instead of letting the coiled up spring in his chest release. (Hands down, the feeling was far worse than previous chest-feelings he'd had in the past). He wandered the hallways aimlessly but that only made him feel more restless. He poked his nose in places he was fairly certain he wasn't supposed to go, like the Bridge and the Special Weapons lab, but that didn't help, either. He stared out the Obs Deck window, he canvassed the Art Hall, and he even took a hike through the city, but the feeling wouldn't go away.

In the end, he wound up in Hydroponics, laying down in the grass, the fake sun on his face. Pulling the legs of his plantsuit apart slightly got his feet free and let him wiggle his toes in the grass.

This is relaxing, isn't it? You can still do relaxing, can't you?

He couldn't, though. He just couldn't. In fact, he was fairly certain that even if Ron and Hermione had been there, and they'd been lounging around by the fire of the Gryffindor Common Room, he still would have had trouble.

Why couldn't he seem to let his guard down for even a moment?

[ooc: You can have your character find Harry in just about any area of the ship! Just specify where your character ran into him. Also, please note, I will be tagging this VERY slowly until probably Friday or Saturday, due to school.]
14th-Oct-2011 09:13 pm - Wizards of Waterly Place
In Happy Happy Fun World, there is a magical land of wonder and mystical mystery.

And also waterslides.

This is Wizards of Waterly Place, a magic-themed water park. And this place is actually magical--or at least the technology makes it seem that way. Waterslides cut off at certain places, causing the park goers to "magically" appear on another water slide elsewhere where they continue (thanks to teleportation), and wavepools shoot out sparkles into the air where the waves crash into each other. Sometimes tubes move around and change shape as the riders are still sliding through them, leading to an even more exciting ride.

This park is home to one of the tallest waterslides in the universe, "The Amazing," which needs actually gravity dampers to prevent people from dying when they hit the bottom, and is responsible for the greatest swimsuit wedgies in all of existence. There's also the "Rabbit in a Hat" Drop Slides where the park goers jump down through top hat shaped slides, the "Mystic River" lazy tube ride, and the "Aqua Kadabra" river raft ride, among others. And don't forget "Nimue's Pool," the massive wave pool that changes colors and occasionally has bubbles rising from the water. (Some are big enough to hold people and carry them into the air before popping a few feet over the surface and dropping them back in the water).

For those that didn't bring swimsuits, ones stamped all over with logos can be bought at a shop outside the entrance of this part of the park, along with t-shirts, towels, and flip flops. Lockers can be rented near the changing rooms. There are also souvenir "wands" that squirt water and bubbles at people along with wand holders that can be bought here and top hats with flowers on them that shoot water, among other souvenirs.

The world had ended. Worlds, plural, had ended, and there was a war on, a war to save all of existence. It was a war Harry'd been recruited for, apparently, just when he'd finished fighting the last one.

It was quite a bit to take in, and Harry Potter wasn't exactly taking it well. It certainly helped that some of the people he knew were awake and had been saved by the talking ship, but he would have felt much better if all the people he cared about were, so he was sure they'd even been saved.

Still, in the end, there was another war to fight. Another one. He was "Chosen" twice over. How could someone have such rotten luck? How could he lose parents, be raised by people like the Dursleys, be a marked man, spend all that time fighting, and then lose his whole world? A world was not the sort of thing you lost, in general. It wasn't as if you could go out for the day, have a hole in your pocket and have the world fall out. A world was an awfully large thing to lose.

The only thing that had offset the despair shock he was currently going through was the fact that Harry Potter had found a magic room on the ship. First day there, no map and he'd found it--how was that for luck? It was clearly some sort of Room of Requirement--all you had to do was walk outside, think very hard about what you wanted on the inside, and there it was, just like that. Unlike the Room of Requirement at Hogwarts, it got around the limitations on magic that existed back home for Harry and even did food.

This remarkable room could even duplicate other places perfectly. This was how Harry found himself in the Gryffindor Common Room, eating chocolate frogs, and playing wizard's chess against the board itself. The opposing pieces were floundering without a player to call the shots, and because of it, it wasn't really fun at all.

Then again, he wasn't sure if he was even allowed to have fun.

Ever again.

After all, Harry though, shouldn't he be grieving? For all the people lost? It was difficult, though, to wrap his head around the numbers, around a loss of that magnitude, and part of him didn't even want to try. As a result, he spent his day holed away in the past, pretending Ron and Hermione would come bounding in through the entrance to the Common Room any minute, and trying his best to quell that tiny voice in the back of his head that told him that what he was doing wasn't healthy at all.

Chess, anyone?

"Reducto!"

Cedric had found a spot in the grass of this strange city's park from which to work on his spellcasting, starting with some target practice. He'd pushed back the sleeves of his plantsuit as far as was possible and made long movements with his wand, alternating between creating fast streams of bubbles and shooting them down. The almost childish game of bubble-popping was a simple diversion from the stream of thoughts that was flowng just as fast, one that hadn't stopped since the moment he realized he was alive: I'm about to die. It was hard to comprehend, when it seemed like his life had been going so well just hours ago.

Yet these Ohm had thrown everything off balance. Cedric had gone straight to Stacy to ask for his memories restored, as he'd never rest until he knew the truth of what happened. It had been just as hard to remember as that unicorn princess had predicted. Sure, the curse that was meant to kill him had been thrown off by another attack, but he'd heard awful yells. Harry's. When the sedation had worn off and he'd opened his eyes, he'd had to struggle not to scream.
Innocence had died for all of them. )

1st-Oct-2011 12:17 am - Podpop
Instructions: Post your character with one post establishing them as being podpopped. Tag each other in groups of 2's, 3's, and 4's, to get some interaction to start with. If a thread doesn't already have 2 or 3 people tagged in, tag it with your character's podpop popping near the other people, rather than making a new subthread. If you would like to play out them talking to the AI, please send an email to the mods making the request--we do this only by request. Then move onto the big Newbie Meeting. Once your character has gotten the rundown from the old crew, you may start posting entrance posts and freely tagging.]

||Pod Release Protocols Initating|| Stacy's familiar voice sounds out to all the podmates through the ship.

In the Pod Caverns, there are the sounds of: Pop. Pop pop pop. Poppuhpoppoppop. KASCHUNKhiiiiiiiissssss.

There is condensation and mist spraying out from cracks in the pods, as the people inside slide out onto the floors, covered in slime.

1st-Oct-2011 12:17 am - Meat n' Greet
The rest of the crew assembled on the Observation Deck to meet the latest editions to their numbers. After the revelation that their worlds are gone, many of them are even more eager to see people they knew from home.

Several people are set up near the doors to provide the new people with omnicoms and comm rings. They are also told they must read information about their current situation and a survival guide with their new omnicom. New crew-mates might see a tall dragonish guy with wings (but don't call him that) and purple girl among their number. There are also several authoritative-looking figures ready to introduce themselves.

There's a lot to tell the new people. It's going to be a lot to take in.

[ooc: Only new characters and Command Staff can start new threads for introductions, to limit the number of threads. Everyone else, just tag in and have your guys greet the newbies.]
