let's talk about ... sith and grand admirals, baby? :| [FINISHED]
As usual Tycho had arrived at the designated meeting place at the debriefing room in Rogue Squadron's headquarters a little ahead of time. There was nothing for him to prepare really, but he'd called the meeting, so it was still good for him to be there first.
The room contained a semi-circle of chairs which faced a projector screen, and Tycho sat himself in one of them, looking something over on his datapad as he waited for the others to arrive. Someone who knew him well would see that his jaw muscles were tight, the only outward sign he was showing of how seriously he took this. Deciding what they were going to do about Darth Vader was a Big Deal.

"It really has. Damn good to have Mara around again. Though I'm sure she'll make me regret those words in about a week." Hadn't he promised himself no jokes? Well it was Mara so it would probably end up being true anyway. "Still in shock about most of it. I don't think I got to meet even half the people that showed up."

"I'm a little in shock myself," Tycho admitted with a rueful, but happy, smile.

Luke took a seat a couple over from Kyle Katarn, so there was room for Mara.

She sat next to Luke, crossed her legs and scooted around a bit to get comfortable. She glanced at her husband and murmured under her breath, "You know this is going to be you against them all, right?"

"Tycho. How are you feeling?"

He gave Wedge a look he was sure Wedge would understand. A 'how is this our lives?' look.

"I spoke to him at length...but I'll wait to share that with everybody." He looked back at Tycho, gave a small shrug. Who knew? It was just what they had to deal with, right?

She didn't have many nice things to say.

What a day. After being in Leia's arms again Han felt like he could take on the universe...which technically is exactly what they'd be doing on Stacy.
There was a lot of information to process tonight. If Thrawn was such a big deal that they'd had to organize a meeting for him AND Vader, he'd get serious as soon as the situation call for it.

Jacen settled with absently shifting the chair back and forth. Not full circles, but it would have to do.
He glanced to his mother, who was a couple empty seats away and then looked back to the table. He figured he'd already scared her enough for now.

"Go on. You know you want to."

Jacen could feel the prodding from his sister, verbally and through their bond and tried his hardest to stay still. But it was no use. One super fast spin, coming right up.
Grabbing the edge of the table and stopping himself, he realized he counted at least three rotations before coming to a halt and he felt himself chuckling at this. For once since he had arrived, just once, something felt normal.
"Thanks," he mumbled to her, finally feeling somewhat relaxed. His eyes stayed on the table, hoping no one had really noticed what he had done.

Her white hair was braided now - she'd cut it, but not as short as in her field agent days.

SRS BZNS STUFF BEGINS~
"I'd like to thank everyone for coming so promptly," he said. He flashed a brief smile, but his face and voice quickly turned grave. "We've had a couple ... issues come up with the new arrivals this podpop, which I think it's pretty clear we as a group need to address before we take it to the rest of the ship. After all these are problems that come from our universe, and we're in a unique position to deal with them."
"Since I think it's the easier one, I'd like to start with the issue of Grand Admiral Thrawn. Several of us-" Tycho nodded to Wedge, Hobbie, Luke, Mara, Winter and Kyle, "had to fight the man directly. "Some of you," he nodded at Jaina and Jacen, "probably know him only by reputation, and history lessons. And some of you," and here he nodded at Leia, Han, Obi Wan and Revan, "have absolutely no idea who I'm talking about."
Tycho paused, and glanced down at his hands, trying to collect his thoughts. "Quite frankly," he continued after a moment, "I would rather fly against a dozen Death Stars than face Thrawn again at the height of his powers. With the Death Star, at least you have a straight-forward objective- you know what target you're shooting at. With Thrawn ..." he grimaced as he remembered the events of Thrawn's campaign. "It's like fighting a hydra. Every time you strike down a head two more appear. It's smoke and mirrors and shadows, and you're not even sure what you're fighting. To say that he's perhaps the greatest tactical genius the galaxy has ever seen is to undersell the danger he represents. He's a consummate leader, and he sees the big picture, and the Empire under his command was far more dangerous than the Empire under any one of its other commanders ever was. If a series of events hadn't lead to his untimely death ..." Tycho shook his head. He didn't like to think of that possibility.
Tycho paused again, eyes sweeping the circle as he let it sink in, both for those that this was new information, and for those that this was a reminder for. "That being said ..." Tycho took a deep breath. "He's here, now. And there's no more Empire vs New Republic, there's just ... us. Against the Ohm. And, as a military man, one who has vowed to fight the Ohm til my last breath ... I would not trust Thrawn as far as I can throw him, but ... if we can get him on our side, he might be the most powerful weapon we have."
Tycho paused again, considering, then nodded to Wedge. "Did I leave anything out, before we go into the conversations you and I had with the Admiral at the meat and greet, Wedge?"
Re: SRS BZNS STUFF BEGINS~
"It's not in his interest to betray us. It's that simple. We don't have to get him on our side for this because he already is. Vader is another matter. He is vindictive enough and dangerous enough that we may need to do something about him. Get security to lock him up, maybe. There are other options, of course." Murder, for one. Not that he looked on killing Vader as murder. More like justice long overdue.

He quieted, thinking of how their conversation had gone.
I have no son.
A stab of pain went through him, but he quickly let calm cover it. There wasn't any place for that right now.
