Sooo...Meet-y

The rest of the crew assembled on the Observation Deck to meet the latest editions to their number. After the recent revelation, many of them were even more eager to see people they knew from home.

Brainiac 5 and Sensor were set up near the doors to provide the new people with omnicoms and comm rings.

There's a lot to tell the new people. It's going to be a lot to take in.

"I see." Now she's got to consider these things. She'll do that while she talks to Nightwing, though. "From the looks of things, you've been on board this ship for a while. Is there anything I should know?"

Damian frowned. "The old man? What are you talking about? Who are you?"

"Nothing specific, at the moment. Though I do enjoy hearing people talk about themselves." It's the best way to learn about them. "Why the Outsiders?"

[identity profile] notaheroanymore.livejournal.com 2009-12-02 12:29 am (UTC)(link)
"I did the same. I mean there's not really anyone I'm expecting to show up, all of my friends and family from back home were just normal everyday people. But some of the bigger heroes I've met would be kinda cool to see." She shrugged a bit. "Like the Green Lanterns, which is pretty cool. And Green Arrow I guess."

[identity profile] better-robin.livejournal.com 2009-12-02 12:30 am (UTC)(link)
"No. It's just a sword." He eyed the skeleton warily. "Nothing's unstoppable."

[identity profile] notaheroanymore.livejournal.com 2009-12-02 12:30 am (UTC)(link)
"Well congratulations, you've just cemented my belief that you are Robin." She smiled a bit.

Alia did not yet know how much compassion Ghanima was showing her then. She was oblivious to the future, and the pressures that Alia had her niece and nephew in their own shared futures/pasts. That this gesture was already a great strain for the girl, instead she took it at face value, but wondered if there was in fact more. Surely they had a history she did not know, but the only way to find out would be to give the same acceptance she was received despite her inner turmoil.

"Another... time?" For a long moment she pondered if this was only a spice dream. Was she finally able to see the future and this was the form it came in?

"This is all... much to take in at once." The screaming her mind paired with this new revelation made her feel weak and almost frightened.

But she was St. Alia of the knife... she feared no one.
On the back of her head she felt a hand stroke her hair, pushing the other voice away from for a moment.

Without meaning to she batted her hand at the empty air behind her, shooing the baron from her mind, only she could see him break into mist around her hands assault.

"Have we quarter's then? And... the spice. How do we acquire it? Surely it must be here somehow or you would not be alive?" She paused, pressing inwardly to regain her control. "Perhaps somewhere quieter, and you could explain further."

For a quiet moment she said nothing, and then ever so softly she whispered in a hushed voice.

"Bless the maker, bless his comings, and his goings. May his water cleanse the land..."
At least their still had stillsuits, funny as they look at felt.
Or she thought they where anyways.

"Hello, there," Obi-Wan greeted the woman as she passed near her, gaze calm and placidly welcoming. He was shrouded in his Master's robe over the Plantsuit and though the hood was down, and his gaze welcoming it was no less the armor he felt it to be. This woman carried herself like an empress, and it make his smile more sorrowful.

"Well we know more now that when I first got here. Back then we were just told we'd been picked to be part of some great purpose." Jo explained, knowing it probably didn't help things much, but she was trying here.

Jo wasn't normally a talky person, she was more of an action one. And having to explain all of this was getting really hard.

"Uh, I'm guessing Stacy, that's the ship's name, will take us where we need to go." Translation, she had no idea. "And we do have some organization around here. We have a command crew."

She paused and pointed over to Captain Picard. "That's Captain Picard, he's, well the Captain and in charge of things. Leon's...around here somewhere, he's in charge of security. We have people in charge of Medical and Science and Engineering. So, yeah. I mean, I think we've got it together for the most part."

"And has anyone in the crowd managed to capture your interest so far?"

She nods. If he liked hearing about people, she'd talk. "I didn't have much of a choice. When I first arrived in the past, I caused the deaths of two heroes. When I was repaired, Arsenal put several safe guards into my programming and told me that I would be on the team." And, for the first time in the conversation, her expression changes into a frown and she looks away. "I wanted to make amends for the damage that I did, as well."

"I always do," he replies. He wasn't going to get into the destruction of the universe with Damian now. There were less soul destroying subjects to press on with.

"I-- I'm glad you made it, Damian."

"A bit, yeah. A few months, though it's hard to keep track of time here." Dick sits back, watching but not being overt about it. "Right now, we're in a bit of a lull between crises. You missed the zombies."

[identity profile] greenestlantern.livejournal.com 2009-12-02 12:36 am (UTC)(link)
Guy whirled around and threw up a forcefield around the dead guy. "Goddammit, I thought we'd left you Black Lantern bastards behind!" This didn't look like anyone he knew, at least. Great, that took away even that tiny bit of hesitation. Now, if only he had a different colored Lantern around to help sever the ring connection.

[identity profile] greenestlantern.livejournal.com 2009-12-02 12:37 am (UTC)(link)
"I was worried about you. I mean, the dead were coming back, who knows where that'd put you. But you're okay, that's the important thing." He kissed her.

There was a slight hitch in his movements at the mention of the name 'Green Arrow'. The corporate saboteur. He moved past that one for the moment.

"I don't know if I'd want to meet them. They'd have to lack a great deal of imagination to come up with names as bland as 'Green Arrow' or 'Green Lantern'. What is a 'Green Lantern' anyway? Sounds like the bottom third of a traffic light," he joked.

[identity profile] forced-unlife.livejournal.com 2009-12-02 12:38 am (UTC)(link)
Khel simply ... stared. "Black Lantern? Is that an undead from thy world?"

So they did have spice. This was good to know. Death was not immanent.
But... Their home was lost.
Alia had only just lost her brother to the desert, and not to find her husband gone, her home. Arakkis... lost.
It was a powerful thing to have to understand. Every love and companion she had, was now gone, perhaps, forever.

The walls and floors and ceiling suddenly felt like a noose, she would die here, strangled by the steel and glass. Already Alia longed for the desert with all her being, to ride the worm into the deep sands like the fremen she was. Or rather, used to be.

She could say nothing, as there was nothing to be said. Shock devoured her words like the guild did her spice.

"What becomes of us now?"

Bruce comes up behind him, unmasked, in his own fleshy onesie. Unlike Ollie's, his carries a great number of battle scars, suggesting he's been here a lot longer than a few minutes.

"It's not going to bite, Ollie."

Motoko was, as always during these, quite late. She wasn't part of the welcoming committee, and had no interest in greeting anyone who couldn't actively call her from down here.

Which explained why she was here, easily.

But Lex's suit was too much not to at least shoot him a look. Politicians. What can you do?

Before Guy swept in, Tora was greeted by another woman, she returned the smile. "Hello Arha! I'm Tora, it's great to meet you!" If there was ever a being more cheerful, well no..there just wasn't.

"True. Too true. Everything can end. However, mine own end shan't come to me until the day I am atoned of my sin. In this regard, I am nigh-indefatigable. Centuries, millennia have I waited to be rid of this dead but undying shell."

[identity profile] greenestlantern.livejournal.com 2009-12-02 12:40 am (UTC)(link)
"It's what you are, and I don't care if I gotta find a way myself, I'm destroyin' you before you can hurt anyone else!"

Cissie tried hard not to laugh. But she couldn't help the giggle. "It does, doesn't it." She shook her head and continued to smile. "The Green Lanterns are actually like a intergalactic police force. From what I understand anyways. Never really met one before, there wasn't one of them when the Justice League came to crash our party as kids."

"Yeah, you're right there, I guess," Mal replied, forcing himself to take a deep breath, in an effort to calm down. "What you've told me is actually more helpful than what I heard first off." For Mal, that was about as close as he'd get to saying thank you.

"I wasn't questionin' the effectiveness of things here, just wonderin' what steps were in place for takin' action against those bug things. Seems there's a good arrangement, then." Mal felt slightly abashed; he hadn't meant to blast his bad mood off on Jo. Last thing he needed was making enemies, especially since he didn't really know anyone on board the ship.
