Hisk is throwing a party in the Drunken Dragon.

She just hasn't told Kang about it.

It's a general purpose party for the election, for winners and losers (and voters!) alike. EVERYONE is invited!There's beer and real food for all, what more could you ask for?

(OOC: If your character wants to help waiting on people/cooking/what have you, go for it. :D And this is a mingle post so feel free to thread about!)

Kang put an arm around Kaylee's shoulders and steered her to a table so they could sit down. "Almost healed up, helping to fix up a forge for Hiccup, making plans to install electricity in here and a refrigerator next door, and starting the warfare training again soon. On top of running this place with Hisk's help."

"Ah, you've met Hiccup, then? Kinda figured you two'd get along." The mechanic flops into the chair she's directed toward, though her smile fades somewhat, and she sighs. "'Bout the warfare trainin', Kang..."

"Yeah. I like the kid," Kang smiled fondly. "Him and the girl he's courting, Astrid."

He took a drink from his tankard. "What about it?"

"Ain't met Astro...Astro...id. Astrid. Ain't met Astrid myself, so I can't say..."

But right, training. "Was thinkin' I should start in on takin' those classes...maybe. Possible I should, I mean. Just in case of. Whatever."

"She's a warrior, and she's good enough that I don't ever want to get on her bad side," Kang laughed.

"...I'm not trying to scare you off, but you do realize that I won't treat you any differently than any of the other students? I do think it would be a good idea for you to learn something, though."

"...good to know." Not that it's a very comforting thought, considering she's trying to work up some kind of nerve for this combat thing.

"Wouldn't expect you to."

Kang's wings rustled slightly, "I just wanted to make sure you understand, so that you don't get upset with me later. You've seen how rough Ronon and I are." Especially him. It wasn't uncommon for a student to get pinned down or shoved against a wall when practicing hand-to-hand.

"Sure I have." Which is part of the reason she figures she needs to do it. "Just. Maybe if I at least learn not to freeze up so bad, it'll get me someplace. At least be able to duck 'n dodge better or somethin', instead of standin' there like a deer in the headlights."

Kang nodded. "That too. I don't want to see you get hurt or killed when it could have easily been avoided. You do have the option of private lessons, too."

Kaylee looks up at him, only half-focusing on his face. "Private might be better. Don't gotta worry 'bout makin' so much of a fool of myself that way."

"You just let me or Ronon know," Kang patted her shoulder affectionately and took a drink from his tankard.

"Will do." She frowns down into her bottle a moment, before bringing it up for another swig. "Which one of ya would you suggest workin' with?"

"I don't think it really matters," Kang paused, thinking. "I would say if you were more worried about intimidation, I'd be better, but you know me, so it wouldn't work as well."

He's got a point on both. Kaylee sighs again, leaning back in her chair. "I'll think on it, then, and let ya know either way."
