Hisk is throwing a party in the Drunken Dragon.

She just hasn't told Kang about it.

It's a general purpose party for the election, for winners and losers (and voters!) alike. EVERYONE is invited!There's beer and real food for all, what more could you ask for?

(OOC: If your character wants to help waiting on people/cooking/what have you, go for it. :D And this is a mingle post so feel free to thread about!)

"Thanks. Don't want to be dehy- dehyd- whatever." She drank the water instead of taking a chance on pronouncing dehydrated.

"[Quite,]" Jonas agreed, secure in his decision to have liberally diluted her second drink with its non-alcoholic equivalent.

Yes, that was best for everyone involved. Especially given what she'd almost say next.

"Thanks." She repeated. "You're a really good bo- friend. You're a really good friend."

Well, that only made him wish he had spiked her drink with something that made her sleepy so that he could put her to bed and pretend that she had not said that.

"[You are quite welcome,]" he said a little stiffly, settling himself back in his seat. "[This is not much like the Funky Fish, but it is similar enough that I and my ability to analyze the chemical content of the drinks can make my way around.]"

"The Funky Fish? What is that?" Cassie put her elbow on the counter and leaned on it. She also happened to be leaning closer to Jonas.

"[The bar I tended down in New Zealand when I was on my world tour. Remember? I told you about it before AIM showed up at the restaurant, when we were discussing my identity.]"

Which brought them right back around to their first date. This had not been a good plan at all.

"Oh, right. That was the craziest date I've ever been on." A pause. "Also one of the only dates. You know, aside from AIM crashing and you first taking Tony Stark's app- appearance." Stumbling block there. "That was pretty fun." Someone was going to have to apologize a lot after this evening.

Such a terrible plan.

"[It may be difficult to top the craziness of that date,]" he said. "[But I am quite sure you will eventually have dates that are far more fun.]"

Where was an AIM invasion when you needed one?!

"I guess." And now she was just staring at him. With that look on her face. You know, the one that said 'you are so cool, can I snog your brains out?' the kind of look she used to give him. "You're really great, Jonas."

Jonas did recognize that look. Perhaps he ought to contact Kate or Billy to come take Cassie off his hands before one of them did something that they would regret.

"[Thank you,]" he said slowly. "[You are pretty great yourself.]"

Subject change, subject change...

"[What do you think of your cider?]"

She took a sip. "Great. Thanks for making it. You're so good to me, even when I've been so bad to you."

Jonas gritted his teeth slightly. "[You're quite welcome. I would prefer to drop that line of discussion for the moment, however. We have agreed to be friends, but that is something of a sore spot that does not need prodding.]"

Seriously, can they just not talk about that? At all?

For a moment Cassie looked confused, almost hurt even, but then it passed and was replaced by a guilty expression. "You're right. I'm sorry. I didn't want to hurt you. I never wanted to hurt you."

This is probably an inopportune time for teeny Tony to walk past, isn't it?

"Tony! Young Tony!" Cassie suddenly brightened and she turned and placed a hand on his arm. "Hey!" Wow, suddenly she was understanding what all those women saw in Tony Stark. At least a little. "You look good."

Jonas gives some serious thought to slamming his head against the bar a couple times.

Well, grinding metaphorical salt into the wound was one way to drop a subject.

Now if only this Tony was as smooth as his older counterpart. He turned his head to Cassie, looking a little surprised.

"Oh, uhm... thanks? I guess." He got the feeling this was not the best place for him.

"You're welcome. Want to sit with us? I don't know if you'll actually want to do any drinking, considering, but you can sit." She was just being nice, honest! Although really, she'd been wanting to talk to young Tony for a while now.

That was a "hey, you are attractive" hey; Jonas was entirely capable of telling that much!

He did not say anything to shoo the young Tony Stark away, however. Or anything at all for that matter.

Have an impassively staring robot synthetic teenager, Tony.

"Sure?" He answered. He was clearly a little wary of Jonas. Hey eyed him nervously back.

"How are you?" She was perhaps a little too enthusiastic, and leaned in perhaps a little too close when she talked, in fact she put one hand on his shoulder in a totally platonic gesture.

Jonas quietly reminded himself that he and Cassie are no longer going out and that she is permitted to flirt with other people. He reminded himself for a second time as well. And a third.

...Perhaps he ought to locate Kate instead. But he did not know yet if he could trust this version of Tony Stark to be a gentleman until Kate arrived. He ought to stay long enough to be sure.

This Tony has unfortunately (or fortunately) not yet mastered the art of being a ladies man. He leaned back from Cassie when she talked to him, his eyes still flicking between Jonas and her. This was so awkward.

"Fine," he told her, "And, uh, you?"

He had to at least try to be polite.

"Great." She did, at least, pick up on the fact that he was uncomfortable and pulled back. She was possibly pouting a little at the failed attempt.

Was it wrong for him to be pleased that this was apparently awkward?

Probably.

Jonas was kind of okay with that, though.

"[My name is Jonas,]" he said finally, not extending a hand for Tony to shake. "[I am one of Cassie's teammates.]" His ability to pummel Tony should he do anything to hurt Cassie went unsaid.
