A House Divided [Part 2]
[Instructions: Here.]
The fighting begins in earnest, as bystanders get dragged in, have to duck out of the way, or join in to help out, but with more people entering the fray, there's even more chaos.
Buildings have been cracked, a nearby fountain has been smashed, causing water to pour over the ground and make things even more of a mess.
Can anyone, Security or the Conspirators, keep the situation under control?

Bystanders
All the while, she was evaluating the Security team.
Carol was there, and Katara felt a painful pang. She wouldn't engage her: she was a friend, and even so, she'd lose easily. Chief was getting attacked, by that woman Leela she'd met awhile ago. They might have a chance. She saw others she knew too: Kirk, for instance, and Leon and several others she recognized. They were pretty strong, but they relied on their weapons too.
She was almost certain she felt the presence of someone familiar too. Danny maybe? That would be difficult: she was actually fond of the ghost boy.

Taking advantage of the the short confusion, Ronon disarmed Worf and threw a punch at his face in an effort to separate them from the rest of the Security escort. The less people in the picture, the better for the conspirators.

The Klingon ducked to one side as Ronon threw his punch, then rammed his riot shield towards the other's gut, following with blow with his free hand aimed at Ronon's head.

But that may be the difference between himself and them. He didn't decide things because of his fears, he did what was right despite having them.
Regardless, he still had Schmuz, and he still had to deliver his prisoner to his new jail. That meant he couldn't afford to stay in the middle of a fire fight. He ordered his team, those who were still loyal, to cover him as best they could while he broke off and ran towards the Hub.

One would have to look up to see the cause. A strange red-haired main in simple archaic-looking clothes and a cloak is perched at the edge of a building. He laughs, sending another three arrows Leon's way, one after the other. One misses broadly, knocking the tail off a bronze statue of a lion sitting there as part of a building's decoration, but the other two are rather closer -

Which meant...She backed away from the fighting and keyed up her ominicomm, entered Arha and Ghanima's signatures..

<< They will be protected, >> she responded, the quick movements she made sharp and cutting as she quickly moved the makers from any water danger they might encounter. Shai-Hulud would have her water if it was necessary.

Now he thumbed the switch and it crackled to life; a conspicuous, deadly reminder of his presence. It was only a precaution, after all, but with guns being waved in every direction — and more — one couldn't count on anything.

Her blue-within-blue eyes narrowed as a soft hiss escaped her lips.
No blade would be unsheathed less someone was fool enough to turn against her.

Pulling his rock salt-loaded shotgun from the sling on his back, Sam pumped it and aimed.

Ax spotted Sam chasing after Leon and gave chase himself, pouring on the speed until he was going too fast for him to trust that he wouldn't cut Sam if he tried to strike him with the flat of his blade.
So he simply barreled right into him.

Robin v. Jean Grey
...While helping out the other conspirators as much as he can.
He steps into the line of sight of a red-haired woman who's helping the security team. He might not be sure if he's ready to kill the Yeerk, but he can clear the way for others who are, which means distracting its protectors.
Robin has always been a very good distraction.
Re: Robin v. Jean Grey
"Don't even think about doing something that might get you hurt," Jean calls out, warning him. She didn't want to hurt anyone, but at the same time she wasn't about to allow anyone of them to actually kill the Yeerk either.

He may not be positive about that yet, but one thing is absolutely certain. He does not like this, not one little bit.

At the same time Icy is reining in, not wanting to get involved-zhis is not a fight ve should be involved in!- and thus Blitzwing reluctantly goes to find cover, bumping into Jamie on the way.
"Vhat are you doink?" the Decepticon snaps in annoyance. Oddly, his urge to punch the errant human in the face is not as strong as it might have been. "Zhis is a ridiculous place to seek cover. Too exposed."

A fight or something has started, and it looks like its spreading to catch up any and everyone in its path. He might not know why it started, but what he does know is that there are defenceless people down there and that, no matter where they are or what's going on, he's a Legionnaire.
But he doesn't have to handle things alone either.
He lands in the fray, trying to get an idea of who is doing what and where the best place to set up protective measures might be. One hand raises to create a small shield to fend off debris, while he activates his Legion communicator. "Brainiac 5 to anyone who can hear me. We have a situation in the city."
He isn't sure if the message will get through to anyone else with a flight ring or not, mostly hoping that the technology isn't so different that he may as well be talking to himself, but he figures it's worth a try before he heads further in to try and keep the damage and casualties to a minimum.

From where she was hiding, she was pretty sure she was safe, unless some psychopath decided to start torching or firing something crazy.
But, well, when someone's voice sounds out, like it's in the same room, and it seems to be coming from her hand, Lois stares at the ring on her finger, stunned, and rotates it on her finger to look at it better.
Did Smallville's ring just speak...?
"Just when I think it's as weird as it gets––" she trails, to herself, and then lifts her head as gunshots (http://community.livejournal.com/trans_9/128242.html?thread=9430002#t9430002) go off.

Jason Todd vs Nightwing
As his eyes darted from one group to another, making sure he kept an eye on Sam and the others on his team. His eyes widened a bit at Tim's appearance in front of some red haired woman. What was the kid doing? Was he helping them? He felt a headache coming on and went back to focusing on where Nightwing was.
Re: Jason Todd vs Nightwing
He might have spotted Jason had it not been for Tim jumping in against Jean. Dick sighed, shaking his head. He wasn't surprised by it. Disappointed, sure, but sadly not surprised.

Thus, it was probably for the best that he was given crowd control, rather than security detail. Keeping bystanders safe and out of the fray--for either side--was much easier to do when you didn't actually want to shoot anyone, than it would have been to protect the Yeerk.
no subject
At least, he wasn't until all hell broke loose.
For a split second, he stands dumbfounded. He knew that tensions had been high, but never had he expected crew to turn upon crew, friend against friend.
It reminds him of the betrayal of Martel, his former brother, and the rage that filled him then starts to fill him now. With a steely rasp, his broadsword is drawn, held in front of him, blade straight.
He does not jump straight into the fray, but waits, studying. He will not fight on the side of those who seek to kill the Yeerk, he has already made his decision about that. He will aid those who seek to imprison the Yeerk, since that was the decision that he made.
But most of all, he will defend those that need it, those that seek to withdraw from the combat, or those who face unfair odds.
And if the flat of his blade strikes hard enough to break bone, well, Sparhawk does not take betrayal of trust kindly.

he stayed to the side, ready to assist if things got out of hand but not wanting to force himself to take a side if he didn't have to.

"Hey, I thought we were supposed to play nice finally? And you're supposed to be the grown ups?!?" She yelled over the din, before trying to fire a few tranq arrows to some of the fighters. She was also going to try to pull some of the bystanders away before a random punch, or weapon fire took them down.

"[Well, this mess certainly looks familiar,]" he muttered to himself, flying after Kate to put himself between those who were fighting and those who were fleeing.

She truly did feel that the conspirators may be right. The Yeerk may be too dangerous to attempt to keep locked up, especially when they didn't even have the power to eat anything other than slop, or wear anything other than pulsing leaf suits. Who were they kidding to think they had enough control over their environment to keep anyone or anything prisoner?
But her efforts had failed. And Lyta would not fight. She wouldn't be a weapon. She wouldn't allow her abilities to be used against the crew. So, once she was certain the coast was clear and she wouldn't get caught in any crossfire, Lyta slipped her way back into the crowd of bystanders.
Are You Ready For Some Yeerkball?!?!
She had to get this thing out of the city... And fast.
Re: Are You Ready For Some Yeerkball?!?!
Bella's been smelling it and looking for a way in, weaving among the mess of crew and ignoring all else. She's below typical sight level in her native wolf shape and has so far managed to avoid the entanglement.
But now? Now she sees Jo. Moving. She smells the creature she's come here to try to kill.
Bella surges after Jo, rising up through Hispo into Crinos form with a burst of Rage. She gallops along on all fours, massive and snarling fit to kill.
Because, well, she is.

So, that left one option...
While Kirk had one arm pinned to his side, Sam's other arm--his non-dominant arm--was still somewhat free. Free enough anyway.
With a quick movement, Sam hoisted the metal ball over his head and pitched it, aiming for further into the city...and away from the hub.

Comm Ring Traffic
«Security Lead to all units, Winchester and his cronies are running out of tricks, they're getting desperate, and escalating the situation as a result. We need to shut these guys down NOW before anyone else gets hurt. Everyone who is on crowd control, tighten up formation, break up all fighting away from the Yeerk, and most importantly, get all these fucking kids out of this fight immediately. Chief, Worf, Samus, start putting Sam's people on their asses and make sure that they stay there, I'll handle the Yeerk. Security lead, out.»
Re: Comm Ring Traffic
All the same, new orders were welcome. Breaking up the fighting entirely? He was pretty sure he could handle that, with the others on crowd control. It was a good sign. It meant the chaos would hopefully be finished soon.
Re: Comm Ring Traffic
Waiting for the medics
He had heard the shot, and seen it hit. His shoulder ached with its own memory, even as he moved to the side of the fallen. It's too dangerous to leave anyone down.
"Lady, can you move?" and he addresses Jo. "This place is unsafe for wounded."
Understatement, Sparhawk.
Re: Waiting for the medics
Pushing herself back, she winces and curses Sam loudly - she so does NOT care if it's unlady like, her back is stinging and burning like a mofo from where the rock salt had hit her.
"Help me up," she instructs Sparhawk, holding her arm out to him. "I gotta find that prick and kick his ass!"
