A House Divided [Part 2]

[Instructions: Here.]

The fighting begins in earnest, as bystanders get dragged in, have to duck out of the way, or join in to help out, but with more people entering the fray, there's even more chaos.

Buildings have been cracked, a nearby fountain has been smashed, causing water to pour over the ground and make things even more of a mess.

Can anyone, Security or the Conspirators, keep the situation under control?

And Katara, who was planning to make a decision to fight, found that she would be a bit busy first. The water was easy enough to take care of: she'd lifted it effortlessly, and was starting to move it toward the debris, hoping to move it out of harms way. Katara waterformed octopus right now, flinging the arms out to either push people out of the way or intercept falling concrete chunks from the buildings. It wasn't as easy as it looked, but Katara had a sharp eye.

All the while, she was evaluating the Security team.

Carol was there, and Katara felt a painful pang. She wouldn't engage her: she was a friend, and even so, she'd lose easily. Chief was getting attacked, by that woman Leela she'd met awhile ago. They might have a chance. She saw others she knew too: Kirk, for instance, and Leon and several others she recognized. They were pretty strong, but they relied on their weapons too.

She was almost certain she felt the presence of someone familiar too. Danny maybe? That would be difficult: she was actually fond of the ghost boy.

Danny hadn't quite gotten involved yet. Unless it looked liked the Security team really needed help, or a bystander was going to get hurt, he wasn't going to give away his advantage.

Sokka stood away from Katara, mainly because he didn't want to be accidentally hit by a flailing water tentacle. This was not good. The people who were carrying the Yeerk or whatever and those who wanted to kill it had dissolved into a general melee and all Sokka could do was watch. He didn't want to be involved either way since he had no idea what it was really all about. But as it was...he'd rather err on the side of caution and not kill anyone before he had the full story.

Mai sighed. There'd been nothing else to do, so she'd come down to see this whole... thing... going on. She wasn't about to get involved (why bother?), but she had a feeling that Katara or Sokka might. That's how they were. At least Zuko wasn't getting himself mixed up in this. She drifted over to Katara, being careful to stay away from the octopus arms, "...you know, this really isn't our fight."

That Sokka and Mai were there REALLY was something Katara would have preferred to not be the case. After all, she hadn't wavered. Just because she wasn't going to let anyone get hurt didn't mean she'd changed her mind. She was already set on the next choice of action.

"These people still shouldn't be hurt if we can help it," Katara said. She could only do this for so long. Her hands were going to get dirty whether she liked it or not.

"I agree with Mai. We don't even really know what's going on here. I mean, all I call figure out is that there's this slug thing and some people want to kill it and the other people don't want them to kill it. It sounds kind of confusing, if you ask me." He paused, glancing at the ongoing fight before looking back to the other two.

"That doesn't mean we let people get hurt though, we should do our best to make sure the fight stays away from anyone who's not involved."
