A House Divided [Part 2]
[Instructions: Here.]
The fighting begins in earnest, as bystanders get dragged in, have to duck out of the way, or join in to help out, but with more people entering the fray, there's even more chaos.
Buildings have been cracked, a nearby fountain has been smashed, causing water to pour over the ground and make things even more of a mess.
Can anyone, Security or the Conspirators, keep the situation under control?

Re: Jason Todd vs Nightwing
Dick stumbled, catching himself after only a step or two when Jason pushed him. "Even if you aren't, Jason, I don't have the time to deal with it right now." He really didn't. He could deal with what Jason was saying, the truth in it, after the Yeerk was in the infirmary or back in the Hub. Once all of this was settled. "I can't deal with it right now."
The gun took him by surprise, though it shouldn't have. He knew the way Jason worked. A little, at least. So he should have anticipated the gun. It was only Jason talking that gave him enough of a clue to start moving.
He hissed as the bullet hit his thigh, even as he struck out at Jason's gun hand. No way was he going to give him a chance to shoot twice.
Re: Jason Todd vs Nightwing
If Dick were really trying, Jason was sure he would have taken him down already. But he really wasn't. Which left Jason wondering, did Dick really still care? He didn't seem to hate him as much as Jason remembered, could he still save his relationship with his family?
Those thoughts had to wait. He had a mission to complete.
"Dickie, I'm sorry but I can't let you join this fight. I have my orders." He wish he knew more about the situation. He probably should have looked into it a bit more. But it was too late now.
"Don't make me hurt you any worse than I have too. Just go get Tim, and get the hell out of here." He was whispering it even as he pulled the knife in to strike back out. He knew how to put on a show, and hoped no one around could hear him. He'd never live it down if anyone thought he was going easy on Dick.
Re: Jason Todd vs Nightwing
"I can't," he said after a moment, voice strained. "They have to have their fight. I get that. But there are a lot of people down here who aren't involved. People who are going to get hurt if nobody's watching out for them, too." Maybe Jason didn't have better angels to appeal to, but he had to try. "They didn't ask to be in the middle of this, Jason."
Re: Jason Todd vs Nightwing
"People never get any smarter Dick. They are always going to be in the fucking way. God damn it. Here I am trying to fucking help my own damn family for once, and you just won't make it easy will you? You have to stay and play the bleeding heart hero." He growled and stopped, just short of stabbing Dick with the curved knife. "You people are the reason I'm nuts."
Re: Jason Todd vs Nightwing
Dick laughed at that. It was more resigned than amused and not at Jason. Not really. "I think at this point we all are," he said, shifting his stance to keep his weight off his injured leg. "And it's not my heart that's bleeding, thanks." He paused a moment to bring the stick up to block the knife, then, "You could help. This isn't your fight, Jason, and I know you're not going to help me keep the Yeerk alive. But there's no reason we can't work together to keep everybody else alive."
Re: Jason Todd vs Nightwing
"Unless you have someone here who's good at force fields, someones going to get hurt..." He looked to where he shot Dick and shrugged a bit. "Worse than they already have."
Re: Jason Todd vs Nightwing
He was going to say something more when his comm ring crackled to life with Leon's orders. He took a breath, pushing the pain in his leg aside. "I've got my orders," he said, looking to Jason. "I'm not going after the Yeerk or Winchester. But I could use the help getting the fighting broken up. Starting with Tim, I think." He'd fall over after things were settled. Until then... "If you won't help me with the kids, at least don't fight with me anymore about this."
Re: Jason Todd vs Nightwing
"You're in no fucking possession to help anyone. I shot you in the leg Dick, even if that plant suit puts pressure on it, you can't move like you're used too. So deal with the kids. I'll see about getting Timmy away from his fight, and then see about breaking anything else up." He glared at Dick again, a large frown on his face. "I'm not apologizing for the shot either. From where I'm standing, I should have aim'd for the head. You deserve it if I'm concerned, even if I don't want you dead."
Re: Jason Todd vs Nightwing
He nodded, collapsing the escrima sticks for the moment. "I'm grateful you didn't, for what it's worth. Try not to shoot Tim too. Please?" What, he was polite! It had taken long enough for Alfred to get it through his head, after all. "And Jason? Thanks."
He didn't wait for Jason to reply. If he even was going to. There were plenty to be doing, after all. For both of them.
Re: Jason Todd vs Nightwing
He shook his head and ducked out to find Tim.
