The rest of the crew assembled on the Observation Deck to meet the latest editions to their numbers. After the revelation that their worlds are gone, many of them are even more eager to see people they knew from home.

Several people are set up near the doors to provide the new people with omnicoms and comm rings. New crew-mates might see a tall man in green armor and snake girl among their number. There are also several authoritative-looking figures ready to introduce themselves.

There's a lot to tell the new people. It's going to be a lot to take in.

[ooc: Only new characters and Command Staff can start new threads for introductions, to limit the number of threads. Everyone else, just tag in and have your guys greet the newbies.]

There were so many other questions about the Omnicomms alone that wound their way through Sandry’s head, but she knew they would have plenty of time to discuss them later. For the moment, the want to visit the forge overtook the need for knowing exactly how the boxes--and the city as a whole--worked.

Sandry nodded up at Daja. “It gives us an extra piece of hope, doesn’t it?” If the entire temple was here, maybe it meant that its inhabitants were as well. At least she could still feel Tris and Briar down there, however faint they were. That was enough hope in itself. Smiling, Sandry trotted after Daja toward the forge, eyes and ears taking in everything they could as the two walked. It wasn’t home exactly, but it could be. They could make it.

"Yes, it does," Daja said. Winding Circle was a piece of home. It was something to cling on to, something to remind them of Emelan and everyone in it.

One day, she hoped, Winding Circle would be full of people again.

But first, the forge. Daja led Sandry through the city - quite a hike, but she decided that it was perhaps best to wait a little longer before introducing Sandry to the railway - eventually coming to a medium sized cottage, with a forge chimney attached to one side. Opening the door, Daja ushered Sandry in to a small living area.

"Here we are," Daja whispered. "This is home."

On top of everything else, it was probably better that the railway waited for later. Sandry wasn't sure there was much room left in her for all of the excitement in the city. A walk was just as well, and helped her stretch out legs that, she decided, were very cramped indeed from being stuck in that pod for so long.

Home. With a pleased smile, Sandry stepped into the little house and took every inch of it that she could in. Everything here said Daja, from the choice in furniture to the decor to the tools waiting by the door. Here, even in the middle of this strange city in the belly of an even stranger ship, was a little piece of normality. "I love it," she grinned at Daja. "It's wonderful."

Daja couldn't help but take a moment to reflect just how far they'd come - before, when she had returned to Emelan, her decision to buy her own own had divided them, as both she and Sandry had formed their own ideas about where their family would live. But now Daja could welcome Sandry into the home she had made for herself, and she knew that had the roles been reversed, she would have been honoured to live in whatever home Sandry had created for herself.

"I'm glad," she said, smiling and reaching out to place a hand on Sandry's shoulder "Would you like to take a look around? You're lucky, you'll get to pick your room before Tris and Briar," she added, a twinkle in her eye. Their brother and sister might not be awake yet, but with Sandry returned to her...Daja had hope that they too would wake. One day, this house would be home to all of their family.

The memory of all that had happened in the last few months at home was still very fresh in Sandry's mind, but she had already begun rekindling her connection with Daja, and her sister's own actions toward her had spoken volumes. Sandry really couldn't think of a better way to wake up than to have Daja here, with a home that the noble was fully ready to accept as her own. Hopefully, when Briar and Tris woke, they would feel the same.

"Serves them right for being late," Sandry laughed as she took in the small room. Of course, she would still keep Briar and Tris in mind while choosing her own room, but it didn't hurt to entertain the thought of First Come, First Serve for a few moments. "I can't wait to see the rest."
