Meat n' Greet

The rest of the crew assembled on the Observation Deck to meet the latest editions to their numbers. After the revelation that their worlds are gone, many of them are even more eager to see people they knew from home.

Several people are set up near the doors to provide the new people with omnicoms and comm rings. New crew-mates might see a tall man in green armor and snake girl among their number. There are also several authoritative-looking figures ready to introduce themselves.

There's a lot to tell the new people. It's going to be a lot to take in.

[ooc: Only new characters and Command Staff can start new threads for introductions, to limit the number of threads. Everyone else, just tag in and have your guys greet the newbies.]

Indeed it did, and a multitude of other beings. She couldn't help but not the hint of worry in the pony's motions, nevertheless she smiled cheerfully down to her, making herself as nonthreatening in body language as she could which only worked so well being a dragon.

"Why thank you," Dipping her head in return to the tip of her hat, "I am Celena Vantari, head of the Infrastructure Sub-devision of engineering, if there is anything I can assist you with I would be happy to,"

This one sure was a happy dragon. That was mighty unusual, but she could relax a little. Cranky dragons were far more likely to attack.

"And I'm Applejack, ain't got a job around here yet, though I would like to farm." She would get right to it.

"Infrastructure? Right. Structure. Y'all build stuff?"

Celena as a rule was generally cheerful, and even more so ever curious. A talking pony was not the strangest of beings she had encountered, but still a rather interesting one.

"A pleasure to meet you Applejack, of course, perhaps a look into Hydroponics could be to your interests then," She commented thoughtfully before tilting her head, "Do you farm anything in particular?"

"Indeed, infrastructure is focused on the building and repairs of structures and utilities for the crew mostly down in the city a level below,"

"I've heard of it. I'm not a city gal and never will be, but I might trot by once or twice." All those structures could be useful if put together the right way.

As far as her farming specialty? "I farm apples," she said proudly, turning to show off the apple-shaped mark on her hindquarters. "I'm from Sweet Apple Acres, Equestria's finest apple orchard. We've got cattle too, but I'm mostly around the apple trees."

"Understandable, there are buildings from many different worlds throughout the city, it is always interesting to explore should you wish,"

Celena dipped her head before looking to the mark Applejack showed on her hindquarters, a personally chosen mark? Or a mark of status? Interesting, "There may very well be apple trees found in Hydroponics, there should be room either there, or down in the city should you wish to cultivate them,"

"So I've heard. Think I'll trot over there to check it out when we're done with the hospitality here. Fine welcome, by the way," the pony complimented.

"So how do y'all like it here?"

"Thank you, happy to help," The dragon replied with a dip of her head.

"It has been interesting to say the very least, despite the what has happened it has provided opportunities that would never have been available otherwise, it does have it's chaotic moments of course though,"

"Aww, a little chaos ain't no trouble. Just gotta grab it by the horns and give it a good shake."

Oh, naïve Applejack. What a silly pony. "Never met a dragon who built stuff before. Do you just bite it, or have you got tools?"

Celena can't help but give a chuckle at that, "Fair point indeed," Were it so easy though.

"Tools are useful indeed, though I have my methods," She replies with a smile and lifts a paw to gesture to the pouch on the opposite forelimb, her red markings glowing a bit as the omnicomm within floats on over and into the air above her paw. What could she say, she doesn't mind showing off on occasion.

"Right, magic," Applejack nodded, beginning to get the feeling that she was vastly outnumbered here. "Seems like everypony's got it these days."

But that was okay, she did things her own way and she would manage just fine on her own. "My methods are a little messier, I hope y'all don't mind."

Celena rose an eyeridge at that, that was interesting "Indeed? A common quality where you are from?"

"I don't mind at all, I don't mind getting my claws dirty from time to time either," She replies with a chuckle and let the Omnicomm drop into her paw to catch it.

"Well no, not exactly. We've got three kinds of ponies where I'm from. Pegasus ponies use their wings to fly all around the place. Unicorn ponies have got horns that they push their magic through. Each unicorn's got a kanck for something different with their spells. Like my friend Rarity, her magic's best with puttin' clothes together. Then there's us, the earth ponies. We can't fly or do magic, but that don't mean we don't contribute."

And no one would tell the proud pony any different. Applejack puffed up her chest as best she could. She smiled at Celena, even seeing a commonality despite the dragon's greater range of talents.

"Great, then I might see you 'round the farm?"

She listens on with interest at that, dipping her head as she took in the information on the different types of 'ponies', "Indeed? She'd probably go well with Rein, one of the other crew members who has taken to clothes making, she runs Stormwind Clothiers if I recall correctly," She commented before going on, "and indeed, just because one doesn't have wings or magic doesn't mean they don't have useful skills,"

"I'm curious, are there any other species that inhabit your lands apart from ponies?""

Celena chuckled softly and dipped her head, "You may well indeed, if you ever need assistance with something I would be happy to help,"

"'Course there are! I raise cattle. Cows, chickens, sheep...and I've got my herding dog, Winona. Haven't seen her though," Applejack worried. That silly puppy had best not be getting into any trouble. Still sleeping, she hoped. "We've got cats, owls, snakes, rabbits---and dragons. Never met a friendly one before, 'cept the baby," she admitted, thinking fondly of Spike.

"Thank you kindly for the offer," she tipped her hat. "I'll make sure you get something nice for any work done."
