Meat n' Greet

The rest of the crew assembled on the Observation Deck to meet the latest editions to their numbers. After the revelation that their worlds are gone, many of them are even more eager to see people they knew from home.

Several people are set up near the doors to provide the new people with omnicoms and comm rings. New crew-mates might see a tall man in green armor and snake girl among their number. There are also several authoritative-looking figures ready to introduce themselves.

There's a lot to tell the new people. It's going to be a lot to take in.

[ooc: Only new characters and Command Staff can start new threads for introductions, to limit the number of threads. Everyone else, just tag in and have your guys greet the newbies.]

This was just...so strange.

"Maybe...uh, maybe another time you know...when it's less chaotic around here." Jinx looked around to make sure people weren't staring. If they were staring she might just be imagining the whole thing.

"My name's Jinx." She decided finally, "Are you new here too?"

"I'm Rarity, pleasure to meet you Jinx. Yes, I just came out from the caverns below. Rather unpleasant, if you ask me." After interacting with a few humans, she was a little unfazed by everypony's surprised reaction towards her.

"Tell me about it, that slime cannot have been more disgusting." She couldn't take her eyes off that horn! It was so perfect! Just like the images in her books.

"So um...I'm sorry to ask it seems silly but, are there more of you? I mean...unicorns? Where I come from they're so rare that people assume they're just legends."

Rarity nodded. "Yes, there are plenty of unicorn ponies from where I come from. One of my best friends is a unicorn pony, she is extremely skilled with magic! There are pegasus ponies and regular earth ponies too."

She stretched her neck out, attempting to look for Applejack. "I can't find her right now but my friend, Applejack, is here as well. She's a regular earth pony and her hat is quite distinctive."

The idea of such a world had the little girl inside her squealing once more. She could barely keep back her smiles and the questions spinning about inside her. She let one out.

"Amazing! Do all Unicorns have magic or just some like your friend?" Jinx's eyes were practically gleaming with admiration for Rarity and what she represented to Jinx personally.

Rarity demonstrated her unicorn magic by braiding her purple hair with her horn. "Yes, all unicorns have magic. I can use it to do anything but I prefer to design clothes with my magic."

She looked at Jinx curiously. "Are you able to do magic too?"

Jinx watched in wonder for a moment before responding, "Oh, well yes but nothing as versatile as yours." which was a small lie. Jinx found her powers had many, many, MANY practical applications to someone with enough focus. But most of them were destructive so she thought it best to avoid those for now. Instead she just lit up her eyes for a moment making them glow pink before fading.

"You do clothing too? You're a Unicorn...and a fashionista. This really is just too much." It was all she could do to restrain her mix of amusment and fascination.

"That is fascinating. So your eyes light up whenever you do magic?"

Rarity smiled at the word 'fashionista'. "It has been my dream to be one ever since I was a littly filly. Thankfully, I managed to achieve it."

"Only when I let them, it's mostly cosmetic." she let the eyes stop glowing and lit up the tips of each of her fingers moving them about as if casting a spell.

"I'm not much of a designer but I adore functional fashion." For how much she shopped most of her outfits were capable of being fought in.

Just barely out of a slimy pod and the unicorn was itching to make something.

"That would be lovely~" Jinx purred pleased to have someone who understood the importance of fashion. The way they were all clad in these creepy skin suits she thought all hope was lost on that front.

"Some people just don't understand how important it is to look good while you're saving the universe." Jinx was not joking in the slightest.

Rarity nodded enthusiastically. "Precisely. Wearing proper clothes in battle boosts morale. You don't want to charge in with your garments falling off."
