Meat n' Greet

The rest of the crew assembled on the Observation Deck to meet the latest editions to their numbers. After the revelation that their worlds are gone, many of them are even more eager to see people they knew from home.

Several people are set up near the doors to provide the new people with omnicoms and comm rings. New crew-mates might see a tall man in green armor and snake girl among their number. There are also several authoritative-looking figures ready to introduce themselves.

There's a lot to tell the new people. It's going to be a lot to take in.

Nanaki hadn't strayed too far away from her. She had been as nervous as he sometimes got. Understandably at that, given some of the odd reactions he had received so far. He knew he was quite surprised himself, when he had gotten to the Obs deck.

"I didn't know there would be this many others, out here."

Just how large was this mission?

"Nor did I...." She looked around, quietly unnerved by the prevalence of humans and the absence of Draconians. She had never been alone with such a large group of non-Draconians before in her life.

It made her very hesitant to part from Nanaki, whom she knew and who was no more human than herself. "What purpose could this serve? It makes little sense."

Aside from the thought that she must be a hostage, perhaps to make her father behave or concede. But such a large group of humans, were they enemy or ally?

"I am not sure, yet." Though he could venture a few guesses. "This ... Stacy requires our help for some reason. Perhaps our own planets are in danger of these Ohm, which is why we've been chosen. To defend them."

He regarded Kali curiously for a moment. "Do you fight?"

"To defend our planets?" She looked around, thoughtfully studying the array of humanity and other creatures surrounding her. "I think we may be in more trouble than we thought, should that be the case. This hardly acts like an army, I would never have thought to call it one."

She paused, one clawed finger brushing against the wrapped wood of her unstrung bow. "I have been taught to fight. My uncle has made certain I am proficient."

They certainly did help in not making this situation seem as bleak as it sounded like it could have been. "Maybe we're not in any danger at the moment," he assumed. "I hope." It would have been a lot worse if they had woken up and been expected to leap right into a battle.

"Your uncle?" Nanaki asked after that.

"I hope as well, for such a rabble to be expected to change directly from hatching into battle seems unwise, and almost certainly doomed for failure. As we do not even know what we face, as of yet."

She nodded, quietly scanning the room. "My uncle, I hope to find him here. It would be beneficial."

"What is his name? And what does he look like? I can keep an eye out for him, too."

If this uncle of her's taught her to use a bow, he was probably a warrior of some sort, himself.

"Lord-Governor Kang, he looks very much like myself, only larger. I think any other descriptions I could give you would be too tied to my own impressions of him to do much help, I think." She paused, considering. "Do you have friends here, Nanaki? I can help locate them as well. Two sets of eyes are much better served in a search, are they not?"

He nodded. "I'll do my best to keep watch for him. I hope he woke up, too." From a glance, he didn't see anybody like Kali. But he figured that everybody on board might not be on the Obs Deck at that moment.

"I don't know if anybody I know is here, though," Nanaki added. "They're all human -- except for one that looks like a cat." Cait Sith was more or less an AI, but if he were here, that meant at least Reeve was, too. "Cloud has a lot of blond hair, and Tifa would probably be there with him. Barret has a gun attached to his arm, and Yuffie ... she'd probably be carrying on about being taken here, all of a sudden." And he sure didn't pick up on her voice anywhere.

"Cid would probably be doing the same thing. Vincent wears a gauntlet on his left arm."

"I will make certian to keep an eye open for them, Nanaki, and direct them to you the moment I see them." Surely some of Nanaki's friends must be here as well, she hoped anyway.

It would be terrible to be alone here. She had never been alone, without her siblings. Without the reassurance of her parents. But she would do her best. "I hope so as well." The words were soft, a child's uncertainty. She was a child, just a girl, perhaps no human, but no less shaken by the sudden removal from everything she knew because of it.

"I have been invited to visit Hydroponics, on board the ship," he said after a small silence. "If you do not find those you are searching for, you may look for me again there. I've been told it is much like a planet there, with plants and trees and wildlife."

"I will make certian to look for you there, it sounds pleasant." This place was overwhelming, but the thought of a place with trees and wildlife was soothing. She would most certainly look for him there. "If I find any of my family, I will message you to let you know where I will be staying as well. It is better to keep track of each other in such a strange environment."
