Meat n' Greet
The rest of the crew assembled on the Observation Deck to meet the latest editions to their numbers. After the revelation that their worlds are gone, many of them are even more eager to see people they knew from home.
Several people are set up near the doors to provide the new people with omnicoms and comm rings. New crew-mates might see a tall man in green armor and snake girl among their number. There are also several authoritative-looking figures ready to introduce themselves.
There's a lot to tell the new people. It's going to be a lot to take in.
[ooc: Only new characters and Command Staff can start new threads for introductions, to limit the number of threads. Everyone else, just tag in and have your guys greet the newbies.]

Someone. Anyone.

She didn't say a word but she definitely kept a wary eye on him, prepared to take a trip to dodgeville if something happened.

He turned to see a dark-haired woman. Not human -- not beorc, though she had no beastial features that he could see. But the Dragon Tribe had no such prominent tells, did they?
"Yes?" he asked. His tone was cold, businesslike.
no subject
"Nothing, mon-keigh. I can look where I wish."
hahaha I am so sorry
"Oh? What happened to 'human'? Getting a little more imaginative with our epithets, at long last?"
Of course, he wasn't completely beorc, but she didn't need to know that.
no subject
"You would find that too much of a compliment. Yes, mon-keigh suffices just fine. What will it be from you? Xeno? Pointy-ear? What?"
no subject
Xeno? Pointy-ear?
"I think the term in favor is sub-human," he replied. Although technically, he wasn't supposed to call the laguz that. Ike would be appalled, he was sure.
...but she started it.

"Hi!" He raised his hand, a large gold ring covered in occult symbols on the thumb. "This is Ifrit!"
"~Charmed, I'm sure.~" A voice echoes in the ear right around Alex that doesn't sound charmed at all. Then, apparently addressing Alex, "~This is your plan, now? You plan is to mill around saying Hi to people?~"
"Yep!" Alex declares.
no subject
He looked to Alex, then to the ring, not sure which to address. "Ifrit, is it? Who are you, and what do you want? If you're a god of destruction threatening to destroy all life, I'd recommend you remain where you are."
Soren wasn't above fighting a god or goddess, if it meant he'd live to see Ike again.
no subject
"~Oh. What useful suggestion!~" Ifrit's voice says, irony all but dripping from the air. "~Considering I'm bound to this thing and staying in it isn't any kind of a choice.~"
"I tried to talk about getting him out once, and Ifrit says that was stupid," Alex says quietly with a frown.
"~That's because it was stupid. Kid, you're not the worst master I've ever had, but you have the sense of self-preservation of a moth. You need to work on that.~"
no subject
And then, to Ifrit: "What exactly are you? And what happens if you are released?"

Actually, if all djinn went on and on about themselves like this, maybe they were better off without them.
"Are you joined by some sort of contract? That would be the kind of relationship most typical of Tellius."

She tapped her earpiece, but the frequency scanner had not detected Hornackk. Again. Still.
Her eyes were drawn to the too-thin young man with the mark on his forehead. For a moment she was hopeful, her own fingers rising to the sign of the Eight Wings painted on her cheekbone; but no. A different sign. Still, his searching expression was familiar. He was looking for someone too, maybe...
"Do you have any questions that I can help you with?" she asked, keeping a respectful distance between herself and the new crewmember.
no subject
"Yes. Two things -- I would like to know how to use this device..." He held out the Omnicomm he'd been given. "And I would like to know how to make myself useful aboard this vessel."
no subject
She pulled out her own Omnicomm for reference. "You can think of this as an electronic book that can access every page in the library here, and show it to you. It can also show pictures and moving images. You can use it to write messages, and they can be sent to every other person's Omnicomm, or just to certain people. It should display a grid of your alphabet as a 'keyboard'; touching the letter will cause it to be 'written' in the device.
"There are multiple departments here, which align with peoples' skills. Is there any particular skillset at which you excel, or would like to learn more about?"
no subject
"I'm a tactician and mage by profession. However, I can also heal wounds and battle ailments."
no subject
She smiled. "There is both a Magical Department and a Medical Department, and you would be welcome to work in one or both. I myself work in Medical, in a secretarial function."
no subject
"Is that so? Then I shall look into them, thank you."

Her eyes came to rest on the seemingly red eyed human and deciding she may as well greet some of the new arrivals, made her way through the crowd towards him. "Hello there, can I help you at all?"
