'Meat' 'n Greet
The rest of the crew assembled on the Observation Deck to meet the latest editions to their numbers. After the revelation that their worlds are gone, many of them are even more eager to see people they knew from home.
Several people are set up near the doors to provide the new people with omnicoms and comm rings. New crew-mates might see a green-skinned alien and snake girl among their number. There are also several authoritative-looking figures ready to introduce themselves.
There's a lot to tell the new people. It's going to be a lot to take in.
[ooc: Only new characters and Command Staff can start new threads for introductions, to limit the number of threads. Everyone else, just tag in and have your guys greet the newbies.]

The shower had been great - but a visit to weapons and possessions had yielded her rifle, and the niggling discomfort at the back of Trudy's mind abruptly went away as she slung it back over her shoulder. There were her dog tags, too, and her cross. No flight suit, though, which meant that she was picking at the material of the plant suit with a weirded out expression.
Oh, and she seemed to have a kid following her around still. Joy of all joys. Hopefully now that she and Karen got around more people, the kid would find someone else to latch onto. "Okay kiddo, looks like we've found the rest of civilization."

She was currently trembling and clinging on to Trudy's hand, perfectly acting the part of a human child who was traumatized by those vines that had grabbed and dressed her. She looked around. "I don't see my mommy or daddy."
no subject
Trudy had hoped the kid would find her parents as soon as they got among other people. The sheer amount of other people made it possible - probable - that if the kid's parents had been grabbed up by aliens at the same time she had...
But maybe they hadn't. Trudy revised her estimation of the situation. "Maybe they're still asleep," she said. "Let's wait and see if we can find whoever's in charge, they might be able to tell you if your parents are here."

Someone... anyone...
There was one person. She was surprised to see him, actually. Slowly, she loosened her grip on Trudy's hand.
"I think I see someone I know, actually..." She hesitated, though, the way a child should.
no subject
Yes, please, see someone you know so you can go bother them I am a soldier not a babysitter!
But despite all her griping, Trudy wasn't going to let the girl wander off in the middle of that throng of people without making sure the kid saw someone she recognized.

one thread upstanding not too far away from the two of them. Aftran had never actually met him on duty, but Karen had met him a few times down at the Pool. Someone she knew for sure to be a fellow Controller was a relief."Mr. Berenson," she said to Trudy. "He's a friend of mine. I... I think I'll be okay on my own..."

She turned around, eyes scanning the crowd. There. It had to be.
"Trudy!"

Trudy whipped around so fast she thought she might dislocate something - and dammit, moving this fast just after waking up from stasis was hell on her joints - but that voice, she had recognized.
"Grace! Man, what are you doing here, I thought you were dead!"

Like right now. She looked over to the woman and the child. They looked like they needed a rundown of what was going on.
"Need help?"

Her eyebrows shot up when she got an eyeful of the armor. That was tech that she was completely unfamiliar with. Still, this person was a whole lot more friendly than the last person (who was not a frightened little girl) Trudy had met on the ship. "Captain Trudy Chacon," she said, not sure whether extending her hand would be the proper protocol here.

She may have lacked a title, but she certainly didn't lack the attitude typical to military personal. The six feet plus of metal carried itself with confidence to say the least. Intimidation was just an added bonus. She continued talking.
"Usually the Captain explains everything to the new crew at once, but I can give you a rundown right now if you really want it," It's not a happy story but then again when does Samus do anything happy.

She shrugged a little at the explanation. "If there's a CO going to make a speech, I'll wait for the speech."

The shower had been nice, but since finding out that she was on something similar to a Reaper ship, Shepard wasn't exactly going to linger in anything that 'Stacy' offered. Though she thankfully was satisfied in thinking that because of her aversion to the ship, that it was in fact her own thoughts in her head and not something the ship fabricated.
There was even more sense of control when she found her gear. Not the new gear she had come to wear, but her old white hard suit that she had wore during the Incident with Saren. Nothing seemed to be changed and like hell was Shepard going to wear that plant-suit thing.
So there she was, decked out in rather battered white hard suit with all her various weapons magnetically locked the proper positions. Her arms were folded and her scowl at the rather larger suited person was more than enough of an indicator of how much she wasn't in the mood for bullshit.

Her voice when she speaks, though, dispels his hopes regarding her identity as soon as she speaks. Goliath sighs, and lowers the hand he had been reaching out to place on her shoulder.
Of course, by this point, he's only a few feet behind her, so she may very well hear that sigh.

Upon seeing Goliath, she went on guard almost instinctively. He had a good couple of feet on her and those claws looked like they could be dangerous if he wanted to make them. "Looking for someone?" she asked, willing to give him the benefit of the doubt... for now.

He doesn't want to get on her bad side any more than she wants to get on his. He capes his wings and tucks his hands away, so that his silhouette is less intimidating. "I did not mean to startle you. I thought you might be a friend."

Today seemed to be the day for meeting aliens.

He could tell the woman was a soldier, by the way she carried herself, and the dog tags around her neck. He'd also noticed how uncomfortable she was with the little girl that smelled... off, somehow. Some of the other humans smelled slightly off, though, so he'd dismissed it as unimportant.

He held out his hand in greeting, "Name's Kang."
