Somehow, he'd gotten himself into a bet. He didn't even really remember how it had happened or how they had gotten on the subject. But then suddenly the bet had been accepted and it was too late to back down, and now he was sitting at the very same Mess Hall table Sakura and the others had been sitting at the other day while they'd been discussing the source of the ship's mystery meat food supply.

To be fair to Sakura, he'd picked a shade of pink to match her own, natural hair color. But the results were... jarring. Also, hopefully no one would recognize either of them.

Saukra strolled in like she didn't give a damn who owned the place, which was fairly true. She did't care.

She looked over the mess hall, then focused all of her attention on the lovely shade of pink she was used to seeing in mirrors when she got around to them, or covering her own eyes depending on the activity. She was impressed he'd managed to find a shade so well matched to her own.

Not her own now, she supposed, as her hair was black. The pallet swap was complete. "Looking good," she said with a smirk more reminiscent of the Sasuke no one had ever met than her currently repodded boyfriend.

Zouichi took this kind of thing surprisingly seriously, okay? And he was sure it was a lovely shade of pink on her, but... well, now he didn't match his armor any more. At all.

He bet he looked like some kind of cosplayer.

Zouichi lifted a hand in greeting as she came in. "Got any comments so far?"

Shoutarou entered the mess hall for lunch.

Shoutarou decided today was better-spent at Mindy's cafe in the city, and went to leave.

She took her time or no time at all. She glanced up to spot someone staring at them.

Then trying to leave. Wait... wait, she knew by proxy knew that guy! "Zouichi, I think you're scaring people."

Surprise! Howard's in the mess hall! Bet you didn't expect to find him there!

And further surprise, he actually almost dropped his tray of slop when he saw Zouichi. He puts it down on the table, eyes wide, and leans in really close to whisper:

"Are you from an alternate universe?"

Zouichi looked at him, expression completely deadpan. "Yes. I'm a ninja."

"Is this your ninja disguise?"

Why yes. He is sneaking his omnicomm out to take a picture right now.

"Something like that." And then Zouichi glanced down at Howard's hands. And gave Howard a look.

"You're not thinking of messaging the others, are you?"

Volanz was trying to be diurnal, though the key word in there was "trying". He'd managed to sleep most of the night in preparation for the adventure, but it was still wearing on him.

That was why he hesitated for a second or so when he saw Zouichi, just on the off chance he was imagining things.

Blink. Nope. Still there.

"...What happened to your head?"

Oh, great. Apparently everyone was making an appearance today. Maybe that was why Sakura had chosen this particular time...

Zouichi gave Volanz an awkward little wave. "It was a bet. And it's reversible, so get your kicks now, because pink's not really my color."

Volanz seriously thought he might have had some kind of horrible disease. He was a little bit concerned.

"How did you do that?"

Zouichi blinked. "What? Color my hair? You don't have hair dye where you come from?"

How bizarre, having space exploration within your grasp, but not dye. But maybe Volanz's species didn't do makeup, either.

Maria looks up from her bowl of glop at the pink haired man.

"You don't look thrilled with the world right know. Its not this sludge is it?"

She lets out a breath and pokes the glop a bit with her spoon.

He glanced over at her, "No, not particularly, since I don't eat the slop here. It's... complicated."

"Oh. Well, if its the boredom I kind of understand. Though... Did you have pink hair last time we talked?"

Boredom? The latest revelations about the Daligig had been anything but boring.

"No," he said, "I didn't." And that was all he was going to volunteer about that without some serious prodding. She'd have to squeeze any additional details out of someone else.

Hana trotting into Mess Hall giving off the distinct impression of someone who really had no plans about where their were going but did not care in the slightest.

He immediately saw Zouichi and blinked in confused before making his way over.

"Dude, what did you do to your hair?"

What was it, lunch hour on the meat ship

"...it was a bet." Although he really should have thought of better terms for himself. Next time. Next time.

"But it's only for a day. Luckily. Sakura went brunette."

Hana just stared at him for a few more moments before bursting out into laughter. "Oh, man. That's so funny."

"You look like Jinx, or Tamao Mom."

Alendian had come in to get her daily dose of nutrients. That was as nicely as she could put it because it wasn't anything else. But when she saw Zouichi...

...a slender hand went over her mouth and she tried to conceal her mirth. Things such as manly and girly didn't exist in Eldar culture but pink really didn't suit Zouichi at all and it looked silly.

She stalked past him, hoping he wouldn't notice as she went to get her slop for the day.

Zouichi saw that, Alendian. "Go ahead and have your laugh," he said, a tad glumly.

Well. There was one Eldar who would not be benefiting from his shore leave supply runs. Although how he was going to explain this to Ildraniath when he brought her lunch by was... uh. Maybe he could ask someone else to deliver it to her.

Fine, she did have her laugh. And boy, did she realize that he would look better in Howling Banshee armor. No, they didn't make a male version of that armor, by the way.

"Shall I get you the armor of the Banshees with that?"

Oh who am I kidding, the minute Zouichi was in view with those manly pink locks of his, Lash burst out laughing.

Zouichi, for his part, mostly just looked annoyed. And maybe planned to dye Lash's afro later while she was asleep

"You know, Sakura dyed her hair, too."

And then it was like the color changes in the game

"It's just that--" (snerk) "how did either of you even do this? What type of chemicals did you even use to do that?"
