Somehow, he'd gotten himself into a bet. He didn't even really remember how it had happened or how they had gotten on the subject. But then suddenly the bet had been accepted and it was too late to back down, and now he was sitting at the very same Mess Hall table Sakura and the others had been sitting at the other day while they'd been discussing the source of the ship's mystery meat food supply.

To be fair to Sakura, he'd picked a shade of pink to match her own, natural hair color. But the results were... jarring. Also, hopefully no one would recognize either of them.

Oh who am I kidding, the minute Zouichi was in view with those manly pink locks of his, Lash burst out laughing.

Zouichi, for his part, mostly just looked annoyed. And maybe planned to dye Lash's afro later while she was asleep

"You know, Sakura dyed her hair, too."

"Maybe. Or maybe I did something else to the food. We did get to see the ship's food supply, after all."

Sue stopped midway and slowly pushed the food away.

"I think I'll pass."

He snorted. "Relax, I didn't do anything to it. That'd be more up Howard's alley. So. How've you been? Blow up anything lately?"

She looked at her food again before taking a bite and sure enough nothing special was happening. Thankfully. At Zouichi's remark, the old spark was in her eyes again and she grinned at him.

"Oh you know. Exploring around the city trying to find a new place to establish a base. Blowing up things as much as I can, but we haven't had that many reasons to do it lately."

Lash's new nickname is Sue (Y/Y)

He raised an eyebrow. "I'm surprised you don't already have a base. Are you helping with demolitions, then?" After all, a bunch of buildings had been damaged in that last attack. Someone had to be knocking the rickety ones down.

"By the way, aren't you the weapons expert or something on board?"

"Oh yeah well, I do have Zetta's palace and the Awesomeporium but I need something more...like me, you know? I'm just slowly trying to go farther and farther away from the documented stuff and maybe I'll get super lucky and hit upon something totally awesome! Like a giant tower or maybe my death rays from back home if I'm really lucky!"

She puffed up proudly.

"Yeap! Been helping with the exploding stuff and reprogramming those robots that didn't get exploded in the last attack. As for the weapons expert thing, that's the position I was given, don't wear it out, tee hee hee!"

Zouichi smiled. "Yeah, I think I get it. Well, you never know. Veronica found a bunker the other day."

He tapped a gloved finger on the table briefly, as if considering something. "Have you had any luck reverse-engineering those depowering devices SHODAN was using? Or has that been abandoned? I talked to Celena in Engineering about it the other day; she seemed to think it was feasible."
