Somehow, he'd gotten himself into a bet. He didn't even really remember how it had happened or how they had gotten on the subject. But then suddenly the bet had been accepted and it was too late to back down, and now he was sitting at the very same Mess Hall table Sakura and the others had been sitting at the other day while they'd been discussing the source of the ship's mystery meat food supply.

To be fair to Sakura, he'd picked a shade of pink to match her own, natural hair color. But the results were... jarring. Also, hopefully no one would recognize either of them.

Alendian had come in to get her daily dose of nutrients. That was as nicely as she could put it because it wasn't anything else. But when she saw Zouichi...

...a slender hand went over her mouth and she tried to conceal her mirth. Things such as manly and girly didn't exist in Eldar culture but pink really didn't suit Zouichi at all and it looked silly.

She stalked past him, hoping he wouldn't notice as she went to get her slop for the day.

Zouichi saw that, Alendian. "Go ahead and have your laugh," he said, a tad glumly.

Well. There was one Eldar who would not be benefiting from his shore leave supply runs. Although how he was going to explain this to Ildraniath when he brought her lunch by was... uh. Maybe he could ask someone else to deliver it to her.

Fine, she did have her laugh. And boy, did she realize that he would look better in Howling Banshee armor. No, they didn't make a male version of that armor, by the way.

"Shall I get you the armor of the Banshees with that?"

[zouichi]

Zouichi raised an eyebrow. "Armor of the Banshees? Afraid I've never heard of it."

Hey, they had male Banshees! Hopefully they didn't have to fit themselves into armor fitted for women, though... hopefully. Because ouch.

They have to Zouichi. Thankfully, Eldar males have the same figure as the females.

"I will show you an image whenever I get the chance."

[zouichi]

One day, Zouichi was going to have to figure that one out.

"Much appreciated," he said, looking a little wry. "Enjoying the ship's rations?"

How about noooooo. "Is that supposed to be an awful joke?"

[zouichi]

"Pretty much, yes." Zouichi gave the slop a rather suspicious look, and was once again thankful he didn't have to eat it.

"...if you'd like, some of the inn's trees are putting out cherries. I could bring them by for you later."

Cherries were good, definitely good. "Please do that."

She had to get her own tray of the stuff, which she glared at maliciously as she brought it back to the table.

[zouichi]

Could he deny that he was the slightest bit amused at the way she glared at her food? No, probably not.

"So, how are you getting along with Mr. Xenophobia?" He was talking about Erhart, of course.

"As well as any 'foul xenos' can get along with that insufferable corpse worshiper." She's heard the schtick a billion times from hundreds of humans. That's how it rolls.

[zouichi]

"Yeah," said Zouichi, watching to see how Alendian would pick at her food. "So I've noticed. He's not exactly spectacular at making friends."

Although as long as Erhart stayed away from Ildraniath, Zouichi supposed the situation was bearable.

Prepare to be disappointed, Zouichi, because she shoves as much in her mouth as possible to get it over with as quickly as possible.

"That goes for all his Space Marine friends. Most of them act similarly, if not identical, to him."

[zouichi]

That was pretty amusing in and of itself, Alendian. Although now that he thought about it, he'd never really seen Ildraniath eating anything.

"Hard to believe all of them are like that. It seems so different from the Earth I'm used to..." Not that there weren't plenty of zealots on Zouichi's Earth, of course. It was just that they were the bad guys. As opposed to the somewhat-morally-ambiguous guys, like Zouichi himself.
