Enchanted Aquatica---the Prom [WIDE OPEN Y'ALL]
The day had finally arrived for her big event, and Starfire couldn't be happier---or more nervous, actually. She was certainly not an expert on the inner workings of a prom, but it couldn't be too terribly complicated, right? As long as the people could eat, dance, and talk, it should be a reasonable success.
With that in mind, her decorations sprung from her mind into the large dome all around her, transforming a grey Sensorium into a beautiful underwater world, one with clear waters and free from the possibility of a shark attack.
The first change was the scent of the air, shifting into the comforting salty scent of the seas. Then the ground beneath her feet became a hardened sandstone, maintaining the gritty texture while remaining easy to walk upon---except for the smooth dance floor, of course. The grey dome transformed into a flowing bluish-green, rippling all around with fish of all colors passing in the background. Some of the 'sky' faded into a violet tone over the dance floor, lit by glowing circular lights in every color. Suspended in midair, they almost looked like motionless fireflies, though they sometimes swayed in tune with songs.
Tables arose from coral in all colors, rising from the ground and twisting to provide a flattened surface on the very top---rounded ones for guests, and long tables off to the side containing shell-bowls of food. Chairs were large floating clam shells with well cushioned interiors, some large enough to hold two people. More comfortable spongy places to sit were also littered across the area, notably by the large shell-shaped enclosure that was the promised swimming pool. It too was lit by the floating lights, providing what she hoped was a romantic atmosphere.
Finally, the glowing stage above the dance floor couldn't help but attract attention with its chairs. Six royal thrones and one plush chair of all colors directly in the middle rested in the back of the stage, leaving the front open for announcements. Just off to the side of the stage stood the DJ's table, with even that machine painted to match the soft underwater glow of the scenery.
Everything finally seemed pleasing to Starfire. With one last change, dressing herself in the formal attire of the prom, she sent out the signal to everyone and waited. She hoped they would have a wonderful time.

He let out a low whistle as he stepped through the archway, taking a moment to take part in the the atmosphere by taking up a white suit and fedora with the help of the room.

O.K., that was an understatement. This was Cassie's first dance ever (because middle school didn't count). And she was actually in the running for princess, which she still couldn't believe. But she wasn't thinking about that as much as she was worrying about how she looked.
True, she looked infinitely better than she had when she was first rescued from the Helmacrons, and she was forever grateful to the doctors for that. But her skin transplants couldn't cover all the scars- and even when they did, it was still obvious where her normal skin ended and the transplant skin began. She had no idea that there was so much skin color variation on one human body. At least it looked mostly like it belonged. She was used to it now but she still knew what she looked like.
Then there was her hair, which had to be shaved for the surgery well over a month ago. The hair was growing back slowly, but now her whole head looked, well, fuzzy. No more long hair (she'd decided that keeping the one side long looked more ridiculous than having almost none).
If she had a dress that covered more of her left side she'd be happier. But it was a simple, sleeveless blue dress. She had to make some last minute adjustments so it wouldn't fall off her- she'd lost way too much weight during her recovery. And while she'd gained some more pounds, she was still skinny as a rail.
She looked ridiculous.
Cassie was over thinking things, she knew. Jonas didn't care.
Probably. And her friends didn't care. And if anyone else had a problem then they could go survive a bomb explosion and see how good looking they came out. Who cared what they thought? It wasn’t like she was going into battle with these people, risking their lives for each other. Oh wait…Well, at least she had her date with her. Cassie shifted closer to Jonas.

He walked in, gazed around, and looked quite pleased with what he saw around him. He took in a deep breath through his nose, smelling that oh-so-familiar smell of the oceans. Even after all these years, it was still a smell he loved and he took in all he could.
Re: ARRIVALS
Buuuut she'd been in brig while all the planning was going on, so it was kind of late to complain about that now. And after missing a wedding?! Like hell she was going to miss an awesome party. Prom. She had no idea what a prom was like except that it was going to be in costume and had an underwater theme. Allenby hadn't had a lot of time to order a costume special--or hell, even think one up--but she wasn't going to let Stacy have it all her own way.
She'd drawn a picture (http://i51.tinypic.com/2cy1j6v.jpg) and told Stacy to make it, and she would never admit (even grudgingly) that she was glad Stacy had spruced it up a little so that it looked like something Alfred Nobel might actually have worn. The constantly-fizzing spark on the dynamite was a nice touch, too.
So she bounced right in (in a way Mr. Nobel never would have), looking around eagerly for a friend or two to start partying with.

Not in the mood for any Prince Charmings, she kept her hooves bare. Confident of herself, Rarity strutted into the Sensorium and was immediately entranced by her surroundings. "Oh wow! This is absolutely gorgeous!"

She had to admit, they really went all out on decorations for this. It was really pretty.
Re: ARRIVALS
The plain black suit and blue tie he'd worn outside shimmered, changing into something more appropriate for the party. His suit took on a gradient---from pale blue at the sleeves to navy along the jacket and black at the ends of the legs. A golden rose appeared on his jacket, one that he quickly brushed a finger over. There were plans for it later, especially if something strange and special happened.

Once there, she looked around, trying to keep to herself as much as possible in order to make this work. To say she was nervous was a gross understatement. But she really wanted to do this, both for her and Billy. This was something that she'd treasure as a formal prom with her life mate, as opposed to the disaster that was her school dance back in her homeworld.
The fact that this prom has a fun theme helped her plenty. Dressing up sure eased the stress of having to look through many dresses to fit the cliques and such. So for this underwater theme, she thought long and hard. Many images raced through her mind of the wide variety of marine life in Azeroth, but in the end, one name stood above all others. Azshara, the queen of the highborne, later turned into the queen of the seas. The naga queen. The powerful image of the rare painting she had once set eyes upon was as clear as day, and soon she was draped in the fineries of the queen of the seas of Azeroth. The dress (http://i381.photobucket.com/albums/oo251/hunterkillerx3m/RonnaeProm.jpg?t=1312514070) itself was much unlike anything Ronnae would ever wear, but considering the occasion, she made the greatest effort to make it work.
With a heavy blush, she made her way into the room and took a seat on one of the coral decorations, taking in the scene with a timid smile.

He didn't bother with a costume, either, wearing his nice kilt and tunic. He hoped no one would try to get him in a suit. It wasn't going to happen, even if it wasn't a real one.

trickedtold to come. She didn't think someone would have told her a lie when it involved ship protocol. 'All crew members must attend the formal events. It's mandatory.'So here she was, sticking to the non-crowded areas, wearing a simple purple dress that fanned out back in a silken long tail.

Really? Beastboy? Nervous? The thought seemed silly but he was. He hadn't been on a real date in...well before Stacy it had been more then a year and after Stacy time was wonky.
Then again who knew what his shapeshifting date was thinking. Best just to try and take it slow, have a good time. This really was Starfire's night after all and Beastboy was impressed with what she'd come up with.
Of coarse he felt a twinge of guilt seeing her and remembering that her date would not be Robin, but that was easy enough to smother under a wave of "Nothing I can do about it"
He had come up with a purple dress shirt that matched his usual uniform, and a light jacket trying to look stylish but not stiff.

Re: ARRIVALS
Her expression was touched with a bit of humor for an instant, as though to say: isn't it ridiculous, someone like me dressed like this? Then she relaxed and banished that thought. She was just here to have fun. It was a happy coincidence that this dress matched the theme so closely.
Re: ARRIVALS
No, his nervousness has much more to do with the fact it's his first time going with someone else. It was daft to worry over that, though, he tells himself. It's just a wee dance, after all, even if it's a bit fancier than some.
Still, he finds himself taking a deep breath before stepping inside the entrance to the Sensoriums. The slightly more modern formal wear that he picked up on Xaxing to go with his normal kilt transforms to something he's more comfortable with - an 18th century jacket and ruffled shirt, worn with a decorative baldric with silver accents. The kilt is still there, of course, although it becomes the great kilt he's still not been able to find on his own.
A small box appears in his hand, about the right size to hold one of those corsage things. He's not sure why he's supposed to give his date a flower to wear on her wrist, but apparently it's important. Now, if Victoria would only hurry up and get here, maybe he can give it to her, and those butterflies in his stomach will go away. Until then, he resigns himself to waiting - and trying not to fidget too much.

DANCE FLOOR
DJ Booth
He went and started uploading and setting up the booth so it would play different styles of music downloaded from the media library plus his own very extensive one. He'd be more than willing to take requests, he wanted to make sure everyone was having fun.
Sporting his usual attire of dark leathers, relaxed clothing and his tell-tale shades, with an added formal twist for the occasion. He now stood at the booth, headset on and playing light music while everyone arrived.

CROWNING
(This subthread will open when Starfire makes another post. We'll have the announcements of winners, crownings, speeches, prizes, perhaps a dance, and...disaster. Just wait.)
Welcome/Princes and Princesses
After some time on the dance floor, Starfire waved her hand for attention. When that didn't seem to work, she waved both hands. When not even flickering the lights work, she let out a dreadful sound---one that she would describe as a Tamaranean yodel if asked.
"Hello everyone!" she yelled, drawing the lights back upon center stage. "I hope you have all enjoyed our festivities so far. It is my wish that the music was pleasing, the pool was comfortable, and the food was to your liking. Do not worry, prom is not over and will not end for a while longer, but we have the royal court to introduce! If you are called, please sit upon the thrones I show to you. You will each be offered the microphone when you are called, though you may refuse it. When I have called everyone, the royal dance will begin!"
She gestured to the thrones beside her---two dark silver and one light silver on one side, and two bronze and one gold on the other side. The silver and gold took center stage.
When everyone had seen their places, she lifted three large envelopes. "The names of our royalty are inside these envelopes. They were printed and sealed by an automated program, so I have not seen their contents. It will be a surprise to everyone, so let us begin with our princes and princesses! If any do not appear, I will allow the next person to take their place."
Without further ado, she opened the first envelope. "Our princes are...Shoutarou Hidari and Zuko! Please welcome them."
Time was given to them, and then the princess paper was uncovered. "Our princesses are...Kaya, please welcome her! And..."
She stared at the paper for a few moments. It had to be a mistake. "...myself?"
Nevertheless, it was time. Everyone on stage was given crowns and capes that somewhat matched their costumes, and then they were allowed to speak if they wished.

CRASHING THIS PARTY LIKE AN OVERHEATED XBOX
The pool's waters began to swirl. At first just a choppy, rough series of converging currents that gave more than enough warning and time for anyone in them to get out, the water slowly spun up to a massive whirlpool, smooth as glass. From the center rose a mast with a flag flapping wildly in the nonexistent wind; a skull and crossbones, except the skull had a smug sneer on its face and apparently flaming hair.
A massive mainsail breached the water's surface next, followed by a foresail and two mizzenmasts. The figurehead on the front was a finely carved wooden rendition of a broad-shouldered man who looked really unhappy to be a figurehead.
Two decks of cannons broke the surface next. The moment they were fully free, the barrels breached the plane of the hull. Starboard and port, the upper decks blasted out a salvo of Prinnies, immediately followed by a broadside from the lower decks. With cries of "dood!" the feebly-flailing and flapping penguins shot off into the sea surrounding the dance floor, detonating violently.
On the deck, the tallest of four cloaked figures stepped forward.
"Yarr! We do be here to be conquerin' this here space prom!"
WE ARE THE FOUR RED RINGS OF DOOM
The wunderkind had been occupied on the top of the ship's watch post. Realizing it was her turn, a much smaller figure made her way to the front, jumping from the top of the ship's mast, grabbing a rope and landing next to the taller figure next to her. She was also cloaked in a dark black fabric that covered her entire costume. "Yarr! You're days be numbered...all o' you!"
Her pirate talk was much less impressive but to be fair, Lash hadn't known many in her life, and Drake was not exactly the best example to base herself off on. At least she had kept up some of the illusion...but it didn't last for long.
A brightly-colored parrot flew up to the cloaked figure, alighting on a nearby perch and cocking his head at the sound of her words. Alan recognized Lash's voice, but seemed slightly puzzled by her current state of dress. After a moment, he landed on her cloaked afro. "Tee hee hee!" he said in an almost flawless imitation of her voice.
"..." the cloaked figure answered. Then again, how she had a parrot on her head! This was totally like a true pirate...right?
