Enchanted Aquatica---the Prom [WIDE OPEN Y'ALL]

The day had finally arrived for her big event, and Starfire couldn't be happier---or more nervous, actually. She was certainly not an expert on the inner workings of a prom, but it couldn't be too terribly complicated, right? As long as the people could eat, dance, and talk, it should be a reasonable success.

With that in mind, her decorations sprung from her mind into the large dome all around her, transforming a grey Sensorium into a beautiful underwater world, one with clear waters and free from the possibility of a shark attack.

The first change was the scent of the air, shifting into the comforting salty scent of the seas. Then the ground beneath her feet became a hardened sandstone, maintaining the gritty texture while remaining easy to walk upon---except for the smooth dance floor, of course. The grey dome transformed into a flowing bluish-green, rippling all around with fish of all colors passing in the background. Some of the 'sky' faded into a violet tone over the dance floor, lit by glowing circular lights in every color. Suspended in midair, they almost looked like motionless fireflies, though they sometimes swayed in tune with songs.

Tables arose from coral in all colors, rising from the ground and twisting to provide a flattened surface on the very top---rounded ones for guests, and long tables off to the side containing shell-bowls of food. Chairs were large floating clam shells with well cushioned interiors, some large enough to hold two people. More comfortable spongy places to sit were also littered across the area, notably by the large shell-shaped enclosure that was the promised swimming pool. It too was lit by the floating lights, providing what she hoped was a romantic atmosphere.

Finally, the glowing stage above the dance floor couldn't help but attract attention with its chairs. Six royal thrones and one plush chair of all colors directly in the middle rested in the back of the stage, leaving the front open for announcements. Just off to the side of the stage stood the DJ's table, with even that machine painted to match the soft underwater glow of the scenery.

Everything finally seemed pleasing to Starfire. With one last change, dressing herself in the formal attire of the prom, she sent out the signal to everyone and waited. She hoped they would have a wonderful time.

The last time Hellcat had crossed Wanda's path, Patsy had still been fairly new to the meatship, and she'd only just met Daimon.

Things had changed quite a bit since then.

Patsy wasn't too sure where Daimon was, but she knew he was bound to show up somewhere.

In the meantime, though, she was more than glad to run into Wanda. As she walked towards her friend, her plantsuit changed into something more suitable (http://www3.images.coolspotters.com/photos/562582/lwren-scott-fall-2011-rtw-blue-capsleeve-dress-profile.jpg) for the occasion.

"Wanda!" Patsy exclaimed, pulling her old friend into a hug. "It's been - I don't know how long its been because time here is wonkier than any of Hedy's plans to outdo me, but it's been...you know."

Wanda smiled as she hugged her friend. "It's been too long. You look lovely. I hope GLaDOS treated you... as well as it's possible for her to treat people."

Patsy chuckled. "You look great yourself. Red is definitely your colour." Pause. "Except you know that already, all things considered," she added. "GLaDOS was...an experience. A couple of experiences, actually," she added. "Though maybe not the experience that the rest of this place has been."

Wanda nodded. "Stacy is an experience wherever you are. How long have you been back? I'm sorry I didn't get to see you sooner."

"A little while," Patsy said. "Not too long. I mean, I was back when there was that marriage world thing, and then I was gone, and now I'm back," she said. "I'm...kind of seeing Daimon Hellstrom now."

Wanda blinked.

Well, that was... unexpected. Wanda didn't know the self proclaimed Son of Satan very well. Her beliefs were more closely aligned with wicca than Christianity. She knew there had been several incidents with Daimon but that had been beyond his control.

Mostly she was surprised that Patsy would go for that kind of man- the aloof exorcist.

"You are? That's- that's good. I mean, it is good, right? He makes you happy?"

[identity profile] patsy-walker.livejournal.com 2011-08-06 07:26 am (UTC)(link)
"He does," Patsy said, without missing a beat. She was smiling, though. "I know it's not expected, but apparently...well. Apparently, we get together in the future. And ever since I met him, Wanda, I've just felt so drawn to him. It feels right." She side-eyes Wanda and asked, "Why...do you know something?"

"Oh no," Wanda replied quickly. "I'm just surprised. I didn't think he would be your type. But then love is like that. It can surprise you and knock you right off your feet." She couldn't help but remember when she first fell in love with Vision. He had been so reserved, so distant. At first she didn't understand the growing feelings inside of her. She certainly wasn't prepared for the intensity of those feelings.

[identity profile] patsy-walker.livejournal.com 2011-08-06 07:43 am (UTC)(link)
"I didn't think he would be either. I mean, look at me. Little red-haired Patsy Walker from suburban Centerville. Who would've thought that this would be my life back then?" She shrugged. "Thank god my mother's not around. She would have killed to turn this into a comic book."

Wanda's eyebrows went up at the comic book comment. "A comic book? Well, we are super heroes. But this isn't how I imagined my life either." She paused. "Is your mother a writer?"

[identity profile] patsy-walker.livejournal.com 2011-08-06 08:45 am (UTC)(link)
"Writer, hack, same thing these days," Patsy said. "She wrote comics based on the lives of my friends and myself," she added. "It was...well. It could have gone better, I suppose," she continued. Her eyes had darkened at the memory of her mother, though. "She was very overbearing, my mother was. It wasn't very easy, having Patsy Walker comics, and Patsy & Hedy comics sold all around me." She shrugged. "As my mother would have me say in the comics, she was a total drip."

"I'm sorry Patsy, I had no idea." Having grown up in poverty (and in Transia), she never gave much thought to comic books, though she was amused by the fact that she appeared in some of them.
