Meat n' Greet

The rest of the crew assembled on the Observation Deck to meet the latest editions to their numbers. After the revelation that their worlds are gone, many of them are even more eager to see people they knew from home.

Several people are set up near the doors to provide the new people with omnicoms and comm rings. New crew-mates might see a tall man in green armor and snake girl among their number. There are also several authoritative-looking figures ready to introduce themselves.

There's a lot to tell the new people. It's going to be a lot to take in.

[ooc: Only new characters and Command Staff can start new threads for introductions, to limit the number of threads. Everyone else, just tag in and have your guys greet the newbies.]

"Rein?" She blinks, carefully committing the name to memory for later. If this Rein makes clothes, she's bound to have cloth. At the very least, she'll know where to find it.

Laughing, Sandry straightens out the sleeve of her plantsuit and nods. "Quite lucky, though I would attribute much of it to your careful attention." She seems a little surprised when he offers help. Asking for any sort of aid hadn't really crossed her mind, not with the pulsing of Daja's magic so near. But, even while she can feel her foster sister's magic, Jamie is quite a few inches taller than she is, and maybe he would have an easier time seeing over the crowds of people.

"If you wouldn't mind, and I'm not sure that you even know her, but I'm looking for one Daja Kisubo. She's tall, probably around your own height, and dark in coloring. She keeps her hair in braids. You wouldn't happen to see someone fitting that description, would you?"

"Daja?" It's a bit of a surprise to hear her name, but not in a bad way. He doesn't know her terribly well, but he can't imagine she wouldn't be happy knowing there was someone from her world who had woken up. "Aye, I know her, but I've not seen her here yet. I can take a look for ye, though."

He lifts his chin slightly, craning his neck a bit to try and get a better look at the room around them. He may be taller than Sandry, but there's plenty of people even taller than he is, and it's not easy for him to get a good look around.

But Sandry seems quite nice, and he meant what he said about helping, so he continues to look. Quite a bit away is someone who does, from a distance, look like they might have their hair in braids, but her back is to him and he can't tell if it's her or not. He frowns slightly before turning back to Sandry.

"There's someone who might be her, over there, but I'm not sure if it is her, exactly. I'm sorry."

Sandry's eyes light up--if he knows Daja, he'll know who to look for, and it will make pinpointing her sister's location that much easier. "Thank you!" She pops up on to the tips of her toes, joining him in looking around the room (though it's far less effective at her height). If there's any care about what a noble girl should and shouldn't be doing while meeting new people, Sandry's bouncing about doesn't show it.

She follows Jamie's line of sight when he mentions the back of the woman's head, and she gives a little hop to look over a few heads to spot the woman in question. A familiar tug from Daja's connection confirms that it is. The second hop is much more excited and far less dignified than the first.

"Yes, that's her! Oh, thank you, so very much!"

"Och, think nothing of it," he says, with a slightly crooked smile. He's pleased that he was able to help that much, at least. And she certainly seems excited to see her friend, given the way she's bouncing around.

It doesn't really occur to him that it might not be dignified for nobility to do so - in large part because he hasn't realized she is actually a noble. She's just a nice lass with a fancy name and a wee bit of magical ability to him. And one who's likely about to leave, if he doesn't miss his guess.

"Aye, well," he continues, with another glance Daja's way. "I guess this means I'll have to talk with ye a bit later, then."

Sandry is definitely excited, and it isn't until a few hops later that she realizes just how improper she's being. With a small cough and a sheepish smile toward Jamie she settles down.

"Ah, yes. Thank you for your help," she replies, as dignified as she can manage given the fact that she'd been bouncing about like a schoolgirl only moments before. "It was wonderful meeting you, Jamie, and I do hope we'll see more of each other in the near future."

Daja is getting closer, though, and with another quick curtsy to Jamie, Sandry disappears into the crowd to meet her sister.
