Meat n' Greet

The rest of the crew assembled on the Observation Deck to meet the latest editions to their numbers. After the revelation that their worlds are gone, many of them are even more eager to see people they knew from home.

Several people are set up near the doors to provide the new people with omnicoms and comm rings. New crew-mates might see a tall man in green armor and snake girl among their number. There are also several authoritative-looking figures ready to introduce themselves.

There's a lot to tell the new people. It's going to be a lot to take in.

[ooc: Only new characters and Command Staff can start new threads for introductions, to limit the number of threads. Everyone else, just tag in and have your guys greet the newbies.]

Ha! He could fight better than most people can breathe. Except for the fact that he was extremely nerfed...

"Oh, yeah," he replied before dropping down. "That better?"

"Yup," Allenby said, landing as well and clasping her hands behind her head. "You know, I haven't met many other people who can jump around like that. What else can ya do?"

"Age fights with Bellcross," he replied, pointing to his right eye. "He's the other Age that lives inside of Age, and he's really strong."

"Age inside of Age?" Allenby leaned in close to peer at Age's right eye, trying to see if she could discern 'Bellcross.' "What exactly do ya mean by that?"

[identity profile] heroic-derp.livejournal.com 2011-07-05 10:25 pm (UTC)(link)
Allenby might notice a dull glow coming from Age's right iris.

"Dhianeila calls Bellcross and his brothers and sisters the Heroic Tribe. They were reeeeally big and strong, but they almost destroyed everything because they didn't have hearts. Age's dads took them and put them inside Age and the other Nodos to teach them how to have hearts and to help us fight."

It was...about as confusing an explanation as any someone like Age would give.

Allenby resisted the urge to grab Age's head so she could hold it still and peer right into that glowing iris, but she did see it was there.

"So... is that magic?" she asked, clearly confused by the account that Age gave. "I never heard of someone without a heart. Or putting someone inside someone else--wait, does that mean you got other people living in your mind?!"

Forget weird. That would be full-out creepy.

"No, just inside Age's head."

Different thing entirely.

"Age knows what Bellcross is thinking, and Bellcross knows what Age is thinking. But Age and Bellcross are separate most of the time."

...It still sounded creepy. "I don't think I could handle having another person runnin' around in my skull," she said with a wince. "Doesn't it ever give you a headache?"

[identity profile] heroic-derp.livejournal.com 2011-07-07 12:12 am (UTC)(link)
"Only when Bellcross is really really angry," he said. "But he doesn't get like that anymore."

He laughed a bit.

"At least Age is never lonely!"

Allenby winced. Baaad memories... but Age seemed pretty happy about it. Obviously it wasn't anything like what she'd been through.

"I guess you could say that," she said, though she still sounded kind of uncertain. "But you're still the guy callin' the shots, right?"

[identity profile] heroic-derp.livejournal.com 2011-07-08 01:11 am (UTC)(link)
"When Age is Age, Age is in control," he said. "But when Age is Bellcross, Age and Bellcross think as one."

Age would have felt sorry for Bellcross if there had been no way for him to get out every once in a while.

Okay--no, even with details it was still something that gave Allenby the creeps. "Well just as long as he never tries to take over," she said, narrowing her gaze at that glowing iris. "But... are you human?"

Maybe it was just different for him, if he was some other species. Safer.

[identity profile] heroic-derp.livejournal.com 2011-07-10 12:17 am (UTC)(link)
"Of course," he said. "Age's dad's gave Bellcross to Age because he was human, so he could protect the humans."
