Meat n' Greet

The rest of the crew assembled on the Observation Deck to meet the latest editions to their numbers. After the revelation that their worlds are gone, many of them are even more eager to see people they knew from home.

Several people are set up near the doors to provide the new people with omnicoms and comm rings. New crew-mates might see a tall man in green armor and snake girl among their number. There are also several authoritative-looking figures ready to introduce themselves.

There's a lot to tell the new people. It's going to be a lot to take in.

[ooc: Only new characters and Command Staff can start new threads for introductions, to limit the number of threads. Everyone else, just tag in and have your guys greet the newbies.]

"Ha!" he laughed enthusiastically. "Baby Fuutos?"

He seemed amused to no end by this. After all, to him, this meant more friends to play with. Plus, y'know. The whole continuing-Fuuto's-race thing was a good thing too, especially on a planet as desolate as Olone.

"Many of them, yes. It was a pleasure to meet them all."

And then at her next sentence, she wondered. After this was all over, the universe that Age would be returning to ... would he return to where he had left them to go? But her voice was still sure, because as she had told the others. That door would one day open again. "I'm sure Fuuto has told them all about you. They'll probably be so excited to meet you!"

"Age would like that too!"

He smiled brightly at that thought. After all, who wouldn't want to play with tiny little land-squid thingies? But after a few moments, the smile weakened, his expression becoming slightly more solemn.

"It was Age's fault that happened to Olone," he said. "Age--I appreciate you keeping your promise."

It took him a bit of effort to talk like a normal person, but he thought it was more appropriate for expressing the sentiment.

"It is near nothing in comparison for what you have done for us -- and for me." It was true. Age had agreed to come with them, fought for them with no question and no hesitance. And despite the seemingly endless battles, battles where the outcomes seemed bleak, the stress and pain and anguish and strife, Age had just continued, asking for nothing in return but to see his planet restored.

"I hope to return soon, so continue doing so."

Age continued smiling warmly at that. He was about to respond, before a confused look came over his face, and his right eye began blinking uncontrollably. Eventually, he just decides to clamp it shut, putting his hand over it.

"Something's wrong with Bellcross," he eventually said, a slight sound of concern in his voice.

[identity profile] dhianeila.livejournal.com 2011-07-03 03:12 am (UTC)(link)
Dhianeila's expression changed, 'wrong' wasn't a good thing, when it came to the Nodos. She gave Age a confused, just as concerned look.

"Wrong? What do you mean?"

[identity profile] herculean-age.livejournal.com 2011-07-03 03:25 am (UTC)(link)
"They put something in there with him," he replied, his right eye still shut tight. "It's making him feel weaker. Bellcross doesn't like it."

Bellcross is, after all, a member of the Heroic Tribe. They didn't know what it felt like to be weak.

[identity profile] dhianeila.livejournal.com 2011-07-03 03:51 am (UTC)(link)
That answer simply boggled Dhianeila. Why would Bellcross be weakened? Was it some sort of anomaly, perhaps, from he and Age being there? Or did Bellcross's power worry Stacy? But why would a ship needing them to fight do something like that to a being so powerful?

"Weaker..." she muttered, hoping nothing worse would come of that. "But, he's still here, with you, isn't he?" She could still feel him there, but Age was probably a lot more in-tune with what was happening to the behemoth than she was.

[identity profile] heroic-derp.livejournal.com 2011-07-03 04:07 am (UTC)(link)
"Yeah," he said. "But he's not very happy. He doesn't like feeling like this."

To say the least. But thankfully Bellcross' weaker state meant it was easier for Age to keep him from coming out on his own, regardless of how agitated the beast was.

[identity profile] dhianeila.livejournal.com 2011-07-03 05:14 am (UTC)(link)
At least Bellcross was still there, even if it was a little relief in the face of what they were dealing with otherwise.

Still, it was strange, and it made Dhianeila wonder. She looked up - better to at least ask, even if she didn't know the answer. "Stacy ... is there a reason why Bellcross has weakened?"

[identity profile] heroic-derp.livejournal.com 2011-07-03 06:03 am (UTC)(link)
||The file seems to indicate that the Daligig believed the being Bellcross's power would be too dangerous to go unrestricted,|| Stacy replied. ||Several other crew members with particularly high levels of strength and ability have been similarly restricted in the past for similar reasons. In this case, it was believed that allowing Bellcross to face the Ohm unrestrained would likely cause it to fall into Frenzy, thus putting this ship's crew at risk.||

Age just gave a somewhat puzzled look as Stacy continued.

||As it stands, we would require a Daligig officer to give me the unlock codes for his limiter. However, given Programming's recent successes with unlocking more of my programming, I believe it is only a matter of time before I can gain access to those codes without relying on the presence of a Daligig officer.||

Bellcross certainly wasn't going to be fighting against other Nodos, but as it stood, the mere thought of it when Stacy said that ... she had remembered so vividly what happened when the member of the Tribe of Hero had fallen into madness. She had been able to save it, then, but it had been a near miracle.

"... I see," she responded eventually, still thoughtful, still wondering. "I hope we are able to gain that access as soon as possible. Thank you, Stacy."

She just hoped that Bellcross wasn't significantly weakened. She looked to Age, apologetic. "I'm sorry, Age, Bellcross. There is still much we have not yet unlocked on this ship - and much we do not know about those who created her. We are doing all that we can to remedy this, so my hope is that Bellcross will not have to feel that way for long."

Of course, her sympathy for the Nodos was dwarfed by the idea that once again, Age and Bellcross were expected to fight. After all they'd done, she was at least happy that the need to fight was no longer needed from them in their universe.

[identity profile] heroic-derp.livejournal.com 2011-07-03 06:17 pm (UTC)(link)
"It's okay!" he replied with a smile. "It just means Age and Bellcross have to fight harder to protect everyone."

And once again, such thoughts don't seem to phase Age in the slightest.

[identity profile] dhianeila.livejournal.com 2011-07-04 01:17 am (UTC)(link)
"I wish there was no need for you to have to fight again," she said. "You have already done so much."

[identity profile] heroic-derp.livejournal.com 2011-07-04 01:41 am (UTC)(link)
"My dads said this would be really important," Age replied, smiling slightly at her concern. "Even more important than what Age did before. So Age will be okay."

[identity profile] dhianeila.livejournal.com 2011-07-05 05:41 am (UTC)(link)
"We-- there are many on this ship who are willing to help you. Especially so, if Bellcross has been weakened. It is their wish, too, to keep other universes safe from harm, and to return to their homes."

[identity profile] heroic-derp.livejournal.com 2011-07-05 10:22 pm (UTC)(link)
"Age knows," he replied with a nod, smiling widely. "This is everyone's fight."

It was certainly a change of pace from his normal outlook on letting others fight. Even Age knew in this case that he alone would be unable to do everything that was needed, regardless of whether he was at full strength or not.
