Meat n' Greet
The rest of the crew assembled on the Observation Deck to meet the latest editions to their numbers. After the revelation that their worlds are gone, many of them are even more eager to see people they knew from home.
Several people are set up near the doors to provide the new people with omnicoms and comm rings. New crew-mates might see a tall man in green armor and snake girl among their number. There are also several authoritative-looking figures ready to introduce themselves.
There's a lot to tell the new people. It's going to be a lot to take in.

Nima has been wearing her plantsuit since losing her single sundress, which got tossed somewhere and was never found.
It's probably Chase's fault.Because a pony probably has no objections to human breasts, Nima arranges herself a quick hairbra and unzips to her waist, turning so Rarity can see the blue ink running up her spine and down her arms."All my people receive them when we master airbending. Does everyone in your family have the same mark?"

She stares at the arrows some more before asking another question. "What is airbending?"

Nima pulls the plantsuit back over her shoulders and turns around again. As she does, she completes the motion by passing the energy out to her hands, whipping up air containing tiny particles of dust, and brings it between her hands, so that the whirling ball of air contained there is visible as well as audible.
"This is airbending," she explains, holding the tiny vortex in her hands. "The art of my people. What is YOUR art? Are you a jeweler?"

"Primarily, I am a fashion designer and I make clothes for everypony. However, I have the ability to locate gemstones underground. That's how I got my cutie mark. I occasionally use those gems to make outfits."
She glanced at everypony's plantsuits. "Hmm... Are there no other outfits besides this odd-looking suit?"

So clearly, Rarity will have a lot to do. Although it occurs to Nima at this point in the conversation that she's not sure how well a creature with hooves can sew. Would that be an impolite question? It might be an impolite question.
"I keep a herd of animals that make wonderful soft wool. Do you think you could do something with that?

Nima beams. She's a caretaker, not an artisan.
"But I'm a pretty good assistant, so I'm sure I could help out somehow!"

She smiled and her eyes widened slightly. "Oh my, where are my manners? I'm Rarity, what's your name? I'll be really happy if you helped me gather the wool from the animals."
