CEEEEEELEBRATE GOOD TIMES~
Several buildings in the City had been completely destroyed during Aang's rampage, but a few had survived relatively unscathed. It had only taken Kang two days to repair the Drunken Dragon; he'd done so by himself, not even waiting for his leg to heal up a bit first.
Usually, he didn't bother lighting any candles or using the fireplace in the tavern unless it was a period when the artificial sun had set. He could see perfectly fine in the dim light. For the celebration, though, he'd thrown the windows open wide, scrounged up every candle he could find, and started up a fire, knowing that human vision wasn't as good as his own. The tables surrounding the stage had been cleaned, as well as the tankards, and the door was propped open. The bozak had even wrestled two of the 60-gallon barrels from the back room into a corner of the main room for easier access, one of cactus juice and one of ale. If more was needed, he was sure he could get someone to help bring out another.
Tess had commandeered the kitchen to make her food, bringing in her own equipment. Kang had been slightly afraid at first that she was going to burn the place down, but nothing had happened yet. She seemed to know what she was doing, even if she'd given him a few scares.
The sunlight glistened on the old sword blade teeth and dinnerplate eyes of the comical-looking wooden dragon grinning above the entrance. Come in, relax, have a drink and a bite to eat!
[OOC note: Both drinks are alcoholic, and the cactus juice has twice the kick of the ale. :D;]

"Good to know. Least I know I'll never be lackin' in a seat, long as there's an empty one near ya." Almost lazily, Kaylee leans an elbow on the table, and rests her cheek on her hand. "You enjoyin' yourself?"
no subject
"Aye. It's a grand time." Jamie rolls the 'r' a bit more than he usually does (quite possibly on purpose), then takes another drink from his tankard. He peers over the top of it, his gaze drifting to her arm. After a moment, however, he manages to focus his attention on her face and gives her a slightly muzzy-around-the-edges smile.
"How about ye? Did ye get your arm fixed up?"
no subject
The fact that his accent is even better to listen to and giggle at doesn't help matters much.
She managed a nod. "Stitched me up nice. Ain't s'posed to use the arm for a bit though. Gotta give it time to heal."
no subject
"I'm glad to hear ye were able to get patched up," he says, seriously enough. He means it, too - not in the least because he was worried that he had hurt her more when he nearly fell off the tank.
He's feeling too good to stay completely serious, though, and a bit of a teasing note creeps into to his voice. "I suppose that means ye willna be able to teach the ship that reel I showed ye, then."
no subject
"Didn't doubt I'd get there, just a matter of when more than anythin' else." She's more happy it got fixed up without an infection starting.
Kaylee obviously pouts at the reel comment, though there's still plenty of merriment in her eyes. "Not for a bit. Can't even work on half of engineerin' til it heals up, either."
no subject
He could probably be easily persuaded. Especially in his current inebriated state.

She was use to teaching people. Hell, she'd taught Book plenty about Serenity. Why not work with somebody else on Stacy? Kaylee smiled, a slightly mischievous grin. "Just need a volunteer or two..."
no subject
"Ah, that is, I could help, but I'm no so good with some of these things..." He doesn't even really have an idea of what Engineering does, other than build machines he doesn't understand. And blow things up, but that's mostly Wyn.
Unfortunately, that grin of Kaylee's doesn't bode well for him managing to back-pedal his way out of this.
My tenses are flying all over the place :\
"I'd be happy to have the extra hands," she admits, and while she's still smiling the mischief has left her eyes for the moment, "and you're quick enough to pick things up I could direct you through with no problem. Wouldn't make you do it if you didn't want to, though. No good for anybody if somebody's not happy 'bout where they're at, y'know?"
It's all good. :)
He's serious as well when he replies, "I do want to help ye, Kaylee. I just thought ye were joking. But...if ye think I can do it, I'd be willing to try."
Look at them goooooo 8D
"I know you could, with a bit of work at it. Wouldn't wanna push ya to it, though..."
Ffffff. XD
"Tell ye what. One of us should remember this conversation, and then we can talk about it again when I'm a wee bit more sober. Fair enough?" He's pretty sure he'll still say yes, but it's possible Kaylee might change her mind. Only fair to give her the option, in his opinion.
He looks thoughtfully at her for a moment, then says, "It is too bad about your arm, and my leg. It'd be verra nice to dance with a bonny lass such as yourself this evening."
no subject
Kaylee looks almost longingly at the dance floor for a moment, but shrugs it off quick enough. "Just means we'll have to make a rain check on it." Another pull from her mug, and she's giggling again. "Bonny lass, hmmmm?"
no subject
For now, he just looks at her, slightly baffled as to why she's giggling. "Aye, ye are. What's amusing about that?" There's a faint frown, and he adds, "And what's a rain check?"
no subject
She's not really sure why it's so funny, it just is. "Long time since I've heard anythin' along those lines, maybe. 'N a rain check is like...like an I.O.U. Agreement that we'll have to do it another time."
no subject
He nods, pleased with that suggestion, and goes to take a drink. There's a deep frown when he realizes it's empty. Turning the tankard upside down, he shakes it to make sure. A few drops fall out, splashing onto the table, but that seems to be it. "Och."
no subject
Kaylee watches Jamie's mug carefully, and she's halfway out of her seat already when she begins speaking. "Want another? Can get it in a jiffy if you do!"
no subject
He adds, teasingly, "That is, if ye don't mind waiting on me."
no subject
It doesn't take her long at all to return, both mugs full, and she slides Jamie's over to him. "Anythin' else I can get ya, Mr. McCrimmon?"
no subject
Just to be on the safe side, though, he removes one of his hands so he can take his mug. He figures taking a manly-sized swig would be appropriate and does so...
Only to realize that that's not the ale. He coughs a little as he abruptly sits forward in his seat, then blinks rapidly to prevent his eyes from tearing up. He's not really successful.
"Ah...I forgot to ask ye to get me ale, didna I?"
no subject
Kaylee is fully ready to go see if she can't find at least a small plate of something from the kitchen, but his question stops her.
"Didn't even think to ask, myself," she replies, slightly disappointed in her own ability to tell the differences between what people seemed to be drinking around here. "I'll get ya a new one, just hold up..."
no subject
He reaches out a hand to stop Kaylee before she can completely leave. "Och, no, it's fine. I just wasna expecting it to be the cactus juice." Which, to be honest, is pretty good. "Honestly, I'd rather ye not bother on my account."
no subject
"Ain't hardly a bother for a friend." But even so, she sits back down and wraps her hands carefully around her mug. Slowly, she slides it away from her until she's half stretched across the table, and smiles sideways at Jamie. "Though I wouldn't mind not leavin' from here any time soon." It's a comfortable mumble, nothing more.
