Several buildings in the City had been completely destroyed during Aang's rampage, but a few had survived relatively unscathed. It had only taken Kang two days to repair the Drunken Dragon; he'd done so by himself, not even waiting for his leg to heal up a bit first.

Usually, he didn't bother lighting any candles or using the fireplace in the tavern unless it was a period when the artificial sun had set. He could see perfectly fine in the dim light. For the celebration, though, he'd thrown the windows open wide, scrounged up every candle he could find, and started up a fire, knowing that human vision wasn't as good as his own. The tables surrounding the stage had been cleaned, as well as the tankards, and the door was propped open. The bozak had even wrestled two of the 60-gallon barrels from the back room into a corner of the main room for easier access, one of cactus juice and one of ale. If more was needed, he was sure he could get someone to help bring out another.

Tess had commandeered the kitchen to make her food, bringing in her own equipment. Kang had been slightly afraid at first that she was going to burn the place down, but nothing had happened yet. She seemed to know what she was doing, even if she'd given him a few scares.

The sunlight glistened on the old sword blade teeth and dinnerplate eyes of the comical-looking wooden dragon grinning above the entrance. Come in, relax, have a drink and a bite to eat!

[OOC note: Both drinks are alcoholic, and the cactus juice has twice the kick of the ale. :D;]

"Hmm," Nanoha thought, looking around the room - before settling on Spock. "Okay, how about Mr. Serious over there?"

The younger girl looked sheepish. "Well no, but I don't usually drink. I guess there's no harm in a few sips, right?"

Spock? Kaylee grinned. "Make him smile. Might be anythin' from a joke to ticklin', though he don't much seem one for personal space bein' invaded. Probly just stick with the jokin'." Unless he somehow managed to get drunk, which, by the look of him, wasn't likely to happen.

"A few sips," she agreed. "Just don't overdue it, 'n you'll be fine."

"You're right," Nanoha agreed. "He really doesn't seem like the ticklish type. But I think making him smile would be a worthy mission!"

She eyed the mug with trepidation, picking it up with both hands and just holding it for a moment. "Can't hurt!"

"There are plenty of folks on this boat who need to smile more," Kaylee observed. "Might have to make a personal mission out've gettin' 'em to."

The mechanic held up her own mug. "That's the way to go!"

"Now that the Nightmare King's all dealt with, we should make that our next project." Was she joking? It was difficult to tell.

The mage lifted it to her lips and took a sip. "It's ... not bad," she said after a few moments. "I've never had it before."

Kaylee wasn't joking, that much was pretty obvious. "Top of the list, soon as repairs're finished up." Smiles for everybody.

"Cactus juice, Kang called it. One of his buddies came up with it."

"Then it's settled! We'll need to come up with a battle plan and everything."

Another sip. She wasn't really a connoisseur of alcohol, so the girl really couldn't taste how strong it was. "It's got an interesting flavor! I didn't know you could make juice from cacti."

"Blueprints, plan of attack, the whole deal." Kaylee couldn't help giggling a bit. The rest of the crew was definitely going to be in trouble.

"Dunno if it's actually from a cactus." She shrugged. "Kang didn't say, just that that's what it's called."

"Oh, do you think we should give this plan a neat codename, too? That might be kind of fun. And then we could talk about it in plain sight with no one being the wiser!" Not that they were being very clandestine about it right now, of course.

"Well, it's..." she swallowed. "It's... got a punch to it, that's for certain!"

"I'm likin' the way you think." Kaylee nodded her approval, and paused to think it over a moment, before shaking her head. "Might have to wait on the namin' til I can focus on a thought for more'n half a second though."

A punch to it...she had noted that, too. "Just take it easy, or you might end up sayin' hello to the floor with the first step you take."

"Oh, you don't have to worry about me," Nanoha said with a shake of her head. "I'll take it easy, I promise. It'd be a shame to ruin a time like this, right?"

"That it would be." Kaylee made a note to keep an eye on the other woman's mug, just in case, until someone more qualified to do so came along.

"It's a celebration, after all! Which... well, I guess there's a time and a place for everything, huh. And this would be it."

"No time like the present," she agreed. "No use in spoilin' it for yourself!"
