CEEEEEELEBRATE GOOD TIMES~
Several buildings in the City had been completely destroyed during Aang's rampage, but a few had survived relatively unscathed. It had only taken Kang two days to repair the Drunken Dragon; he'd done so by himself, not even waiting for his leg to heal up a bit first.
Usually, he didn't bother lighting any candles or using the fireplace in the tavern unless it was a period when the artificial sun had set. He could see perfectly fine in the dim light. For the celebration, though, he'd thrown the windows open wide, scrounged up every candle he could find, and started up a fire, knowing that human vision wasn't as good as his own. The tables surrounding the stage had been cleaned, as well as the tankards, and the door was propped open. The bozak had even wrestled two of the 60-gallon barrels from the back room into a corner of the main room for easier access, one of cactus juice and one of ale. If more was needed, he was sure he could get someone to help bring out another.
Tess had commandeered the kitchen to make her food, bringing in her own equipment. Kang had been slightly afraid at first that she was going to burn the place down, but nothing had happened yet. She seemed to know what she was doing, even if she'd given him a few scares.
The sunlight glistened on the old sword blade teeth and dinnerplate eyes of the comical-looking wooden dragon grinning above the entrance. Come in, relax, have a drink and a bite to eat!
[OOC note: Both drinks are alcoholic, and the cactus juice has twice the kick of the ale. :D;]

"Well, ye never know. Someone might throw a ball or something in the Sensoriums sometime and then you'll know a dance, aye? Although, I should probably warn ye, I taught her a reel." Which she was very enthusiastic about, if Jamie remembers correctly. "She may want to teach ye that as well."
no subject
"You have a point. And thanks for the warning; I don't think it'd be a good idea for me to try a reel," he laughed. "I'm really not a dancer."
no subject
"So better safe than sorry, aye?"

There's a momentary pause before he admits, "And then there may have been a fight or two." His eyes flick to Kang's wings, studying them for a moment, and he says, "I'd say something similar happened to ye, if I had to guess."

There's something about that statement that seems interesting, and it doesn't take long for Jamie to figure out what it is. "I take it ye don't have guns in your world then? Or was it just that ye were verra lucky in that regard?"
no subject
He pointed at the sword on his left hip, "Nope. We're a bit behind, technology wise. Billy compared it to the middle ages on Earth."
no subject
The sword gets an admiring glance. "I wouldna say that's behind, really. Ye can do plenty with a good blade in the right circumstances. Technology can get verra confusing, if ye ask me." Swords, at least, he understands.
"I'm used to a claymore myself, but that's a fine looking sword ye have there."
no subject
"I know, and I'm actually planning on teaching some of the civilians on the ship how to use one. Guns run out of bullets, after all. I have a battle-axe, too, but I left that in my quarters for the night. I only have my sword and dagger on me because I don't like walking around unarmed; you never know when you'll need to defend yourself," Kang leaned forward slightly, beginning to unbuckle the sword from his belt. "Want a closer look? It's a flamberge."
He saw no reason to distrust Jamie, and he was a little inebriated.

He pats the sheath at his waist that contains his own knife. Kang, apparently, isn't the only one that likes to have an extra weapon available for when the need arises.
"And I wouldna mind taking a closer look, no," he adds agreeably. He's just going to have to be careful when he does - that's a long blade, especially considering that it's sized for the Draconian and not the much smaller Scotsman.

He handed the sword over, still in its sheathe, and leaned back in his seat.

He takes the flamberge when it's offered. Even still in its sheath, he can tell that he wouldn't be able to easily wield it. It's best not to even try - although he does pull it partway from the sheath so he can take a look at the blade. "Verra nice," he murmurs appreciatively, turning it slightly so he can get a better view.
Re-sheathing the sword, he hands it back to Kang. "Whoever forged that did a fine job. Thank ye for letting me take a look."
no subject
Taking the flamberge back, he buckled it onto his belt and patted the hilt fondly, "It's done me well the past thirty years or so."

"So, ye mentioned someone named Ronon before. I don't think I've met him. Is he another..." Jamie breaks off, realizing he doesn't know what Kang is. "Another like ye?"

He's not really understanding, though, why humans or elves would try and kill Kang out of hand, unless... "Is it because that ye look different? Or...ye said a reputation?"

"Draconians didn't have the best of starts on Krynn. We were created from dragon eggs to be soldiers in a war, and we weren't on the, ah, 'good' side. War's over now, and I was working for coexistence, but it's - it was - going to take a long time for attitudes to change."
no subject
"Well, have ye found anyone here on Stacy so far that's thought like that?"
no subject
He shook his head, "No. But no one on this ship has had family killed, or worse, by draconians."
no subject
However, he's pretty sure he doesn't want to find out what Kang means by 'worse', so he simply adds, "And until we can figure out how to defeat the Ohm and restore our universes, at least ye don't have to worry about someone attacking ye because ye are a Draconian." There may be the occasional person who isn't familiar with non-humans who might try, but Jamie doesn't say that part out loud.
no subject
No, Jamie doesn't want to find out, and he won't be told unless he were to ask specifically. Barely holding in a growl, his wings rustled. "We will defeat the Ohm. And at this point, I'd welcome an attack, simply because it'd mean that I wasn't alone. Anyone from Krynn with a lick of sense would stop once I told them who I was."
