CEEEEEELEBRATE GOOD TIMES~
Several buildings in the City had been completely destroyed during Aang's rampage, but a few had survived relatively unscathed. It had only taken Kang two days to repair the Drunken Dragon; he'd done so by himself, not even waiting for his leg to heal up a bit first.
Usually, he didn't bother lighting any candles or using the fireplace in the tavern unless it was a period when the artificial sun had set. He could see perfectly fine in the dim light. For the celebration, though, he'd thrown the windows open wide, scrounged up every candle he could find, and started up a fire, knowing that human vision wasn't as good as his own. The tables surrounding the stage had been cleaned, as well as the tankards, and the door was propped open. The bozak had even wrestled two of the 60-gallon barrels from the back room into a corner of the main room for easier access, one of cactus juice and one of ale. If more was needed, he was sure he could get someone to help bring out another.
Tess had commandeered the kitchen to make her food, bringing in her own equipment. Kang had been slightly afraid at first that she was going to burn the place down, but nothing had happened yet. She seemed to know what she was doing, even if she'd given him a few scares.
The sunlight glistened on the old sword blade teeth and dinnerplate eyes of the comical-looking wooden dragon grinning above the entrance. Come in, relax, have a drink and a bite to eat!
[OOC note: Both drinks are alcoholic, and the cactus juice has twice the kick of the ale. :D;]

"You #&%*ing stupid #^$%*@#$&$^@# I am going to...Ax?" Marco blinked when he finally turned to face the idiot who had tripped him, and found Ax.
"What the hell are you doing!" he yelled. Scrambling to his feel, Marco moved to yank Ax up. "And please tell me that is still your first drink..."
no subject
He remained stubbornly on the floor. The room was moving around entirely too much to stand. Marco could haul on his arm all he wanted, Ax was staying right where he was.
no subject
Marco yanked on Ax again, trying to pull Ax to his feet. "Come on man, get up."
no subject
It didn' work though and it took a lot longer than normal to get to where she was suppose to be. Fiiiiiiiiinally she found Marco trying to help some other dude to his feet. "Heeeeeeeeeeey... Uh, what happened here?"
no subject

...And of course this is when Claudia had to show up. "This is the friend i was talking about. The one who drank too much." Marco glared at Ax. And then grabbed at Ax's arm again when Ax yanked it out of Marco's hands, and tried to pull him up again.
"The floor is not moving. You are drunk. And if you stay under the table I am going to start kicking you."
no subject
She turned to Marco's friend and offered him her hand. "Here, lemme help you up."
no subject
He pulled his arm out of Marco's grip again and scuttled back under the table. He popped up on the opposite side, gripping the table to keep himself upright. "You don't get to kick me, kuh-ick kuh. I had to crawl inside your nose!"
The room tilted. Ax clung stubbornly to the table to remain upright, and nodded at the human who had just arrived. "Thank you, but I am not fifteen. Eeen, eeeenuh. I am two, but closer to sixteen of your years."
no subject
Sighing, he turned to Claudia. "He's older than he looks, alright? And I told him to have small doses, which, by the way, does not mean 'drink whenever anyone else does', Ax-man."
no subject
She stood and straightened her shirt before flashing them both a bright smile. "Oh it's cool. I mean I guess we should be glad there's no food out yet.... Right, Aximili-Esgarrouth-Isthill?"
no subject
"Perhaps, hapuhsuh, closer to seventeen now," he muttered absently, then scowled in Marco's direction. "I no longer feel pleasantly warm."
no subject
Geez. Seems like Claudia really did know everyone on the ship. Which was so not fair. Marco wanted to meet the most awesome people!
no subject
Her bottom lip jutted out. "See if I tell you anything awesome anymore!!!"
no subject
< Should I start demorphing? > he asked Marco in private thought-speak. Was this something he ought to be concerned about?
no subject
Marco had been careful to never mention anything about the Animorphs. He'd rather keep his abilities as an ace up his sleeve. So he knew he'd never said anything about Ax or their abilities to Claudia. And if Claudia had never met Ax before...
"Where did you hear that word?" Marco asked, his voice deceptively calm. "I've never said it. And I know Ax and Tobias wouldn't go around telling people about us."
He fixed Claudia with an intense stare. "Have you been spying on us, is that it?" he hissed. "Or did you get someone else to do it? Do you did around an gossip about what you find out?"
His eyes flicked to Ax for an instant, and he nodded - just slightly, not enough to be obvious to Claudia, but enough that Ax would be able to see it.
no subject
Suddenly it dawned on her what he'd said before and she couldn't help the flicker of excitement that crossed her expression. "Dude, Tobia is here too? What about the others?" Ugh! She groaned and reached up and smacked her forehead. When would she learn to shut up?!
"Look dude, I'm not friggin spying on you, OK? 'Cause for one, I have waaaaaaaaaaaaay better things to be doin' with my time. But anyway, you wouldn't believe me if I told you."
no subject
He was so glad Elfangor wasn't here...
no subject
He liked Claudia, yes. She was cute and funny and smart and arguing about how had met the coolest people on the ship with her was fun. But Marco has spent three years of his life fighting the Yeerk War. And he had never really managed to unlearn the mentality that anyone could be an enemy. He probably never would.
So right now? He was definitely regarding Claudia as a possible enemy to him, Ax and Tobias. Maybe even Elfnagor and Loren too, although the other Animorphs were definitely Marco's priority. If she knew information about him that he hadn't revealed then she had a source that was out of Marco's control, and that she potential had information about him and the other Animorphs that could be used against them.
But she was supposed to be a friend. Maybe not someone he could trust yet, but at least someone who wouldn't stab him in the back anytime soon. To say that Marco was not happy about this would be a massive understatement. And he definitely wanted an explanation.
"If you weren't spying, then how the hell do you know about us?" he said cooly. "We don't go around telling people we're Animorphs."
no subject
She took a step back just incase... A little more room between them certainly would not hurt in the slightest.
"Uh..." she frowned, her nose scrunching up a bit. This was so not cool. Not cool at all. She was about to tell someone they were characters in a book? Claudia would normally never tell someone something like this about them, but the dude standing infront of her was able to turn into a great number of animals - many who could make her into a snack - and well, a girl had to do what a girl had to do.
"Dude, you know how there are people here who are like from TV shows and video games and stuff? Yeeeah. You and your friends? Try books. A whole series. I read them when I was like twelve."
no subject
< Is she particularly intelligent? > he asked Marco privately. < Or was this book series likely intended to be read by human pre-teens? >
Who would encourage children to read detailed accounts of the sort of things the Animorphs had done?!
no subject
As for Marco? He was currently staring. At Claudia. With a completely dumbfounded expression on his face.
See, he knew there were "fictional" people on board. And they they weren't really fictional - it's just that their stories had ended up in other universes. And meeting people like Spider-man and Samus and Captain Kirk was awesome. But he'd never really considered that he could be one of them. But now that he did? He did not like the idea. He'd been so careful about what he revealed, and now possibly any number of random people could have just read about their entire lives?!
Marco's eyes flicked to the table - and since he wasn't in morph, he couldn't answer. But that was certainly a mark against Claudia's claim. Yeah, she was smart. Real smart. But come on, reading about them at twelve? That was insane!
He narrowed his eyes. Claudia could be telling the truth - but she could still be lying to try and cover up how she really got the information. Marco wasn't sure which he wanted it to be - if she was lying, yeah it'd turn out she was really a backstabbing bitch. But at least it wouldn't mean that anyone could know all their secrets.
Marco needed to find out.
"Alright then. Let's assume this is true. If it is, you'd know stuff about us that no one else could. So tell me - what happened to Cassie that time when she ended up in Australia?"
He'd have to watch carefully when she answered, for signs that she was lying. See, the thing is? Marco didn't really know the answer. Cassie had always been a bit vague on what happened. And he was confidant that Ax and Tobias didn't know either. Which meant that there was absolutely no way that anyone else on the ship could have gotten the information from them, either by psychically poking around in their heads or eavesdropping on their conversations. It was a question Claudia could only answer if she had in fact read about them in some books before she ever got onto Stacy.
no subject
"Why would I make this up?" She demanded suddenly, her eyes narrowing as her hands propped on her hips. "I've never lied to you Marco, why the hell would I start now? You think I'm some.. Whatever? I don't even know... We can go to Dr. Grey and she can totally read my mind if you think I'm lying!"
