CEEEEEELEBRATE GOOD TIMES~

Several buildings in the City had been completely destroyed during Aang's rampage, but a few had survived relatively unscathed. It had only taken Kang two days to repair the Drunken Dragon; he'd done so by himself, not even waiting for his leg to heal up a bit first.

Usually, he didn't bother lighting any candles or using the fireplace in the tavern unless it was a period when the artificial sun had set. He could see perfectly fine in the dim light. For the celebration, though, he'd thrown the windows open wide, scrounged up every candle he could find, and started up a fire, knowing that human vision wasn't as good as his own. The tables surrounding the stage had been cleaned, as well as the tankards, and the door was propped open. The bozak had even wrestled two of the 60-gallon barrels from the back room into a corner of the main room for easier access, one of cactus juice and one of ale. If more was needed, he was sure he could get someone to help bring out another.

Tess had commandeered the kitchen to make her food, bringing in her own equipment. Kang had been slightly afraid at first that she was going to burn the place down, but nothing had happened yet. She seemed to know what she was doing, even if she'd given him a few scares.

The sunlight glistened on the old sword blade teeth and dinnerplate eyes of the comical-looking wooden dragon grinning above the entrance. Come in, relax, have a drink and a bite to eat!

[OOC note: Both drinks are alcoholic, and the cactus juice has twice the kick of the ale. :D;]

Marco was making his third round around the tavern in search of Ax, when suddenly he was a foot in front oh his (where the hell did that come from?!) and he was tumbling down to the ground.

"You #&%*ing stupid #^$%*@#$&$^@# I am going to...Ax?" Marco blinked when he finally turned to face the idiot who had tripped him, and found Ax.

"What the hell are you doing!" he yelled. Scrambling to his feel, Marco moved to yank Ax up. "And please tell me that is still your first drink..."

[identity profile] mynameisax.livejournal.com 2010-03-17 08:06 am (UTC)(link)
"Pardon your French," Ax sniffed. He remembered that phrase. "Puh-puh paaaaaaarduh. Nn. Nnn. No, it is not my fuh-first. Tuh. It is my second." It was also about a third of the way gone. "I have not been drinking it all at once. Sssssssuh."

He remained stubbornly on the floor. The room was moving around entirely too much to stand. Marco could haul on his arm all he wanted, Ax was staying right where he was.
livestoannoy: (Are you insane?!)

[personal profile] livestoannoy 2010-03-17 08:14 am (UTC)(link)
"Yeah, well if you didn't go around tripping people I wouldn't need any French," Marco said crossly. "And...dude, put the drink down! I told you to take small doses, two drinks in half an hour is not a small dose..."

Marco yanked on Ax again, trying to pull Ax to his feet. "Come on man, get up."

Already on her way to being half tipsy, Claudia looked over her shoulder making sure she knew exactly where Spock was before she went off searching for Marco. "By the tables, by the tables," she muttered to herself trying to ignore the various people she was passing.

It didn' work though and it took a lot longer than normal to get to where she was suppose to be. Fiiiiiiiiinally she found Marco trying to help some other dude to his feet. "Heeeeeeeeeeey... Uh, what happened here?"

[identity profile] mynameisax.livejournal.com 2010-03-17 08:43 am (UTC)(link)
"It was the most eff-effuh-efficientuh way to get your attention," Ax countered. "And I have not been drinking any faster than anyone else. I've been watching them. Tching. Ing! Iiiiiinguh." He set down his drink though, if only so he could tug his arm back from Marco. "I do not want to get up. The floor is moving!" Tug, tug. Ax's face scrunches up in thought. "There's a phrase applicable here. Ah, yes." He clears his throat. "Screw you and your moving floor! Humans!" He beamed. "You have so many useful phrases."
livestoannoy: (Sitting around)

[personal profile] livestoannoy 2010-03-17 08:53 am (UTC)(link)
Marco rolled his eyes. "No, yelling, "Marco, I'm under the goddamn table," would be much more efficient."

...And of course this is when Claudia had to show up. "This is the friend i was talking about. The one who drank too much." Marco glared at Ax. And then grabbed at Ax's arm again when Ax yanked it out of Marco's hands, and tried to pull him up again.

"The floor is not moving. You are drunk. And if you stay under the table I am going to start kicking you."

Claudia stared down at the drunk guy and arched an eyebrow. Man, if the ale did that to people, she was soooooooooo not going to drink anymore. Maybe. She leaned in a little closer and her eyes widened. Suddenly she punched Marco in the arm. "Dude! What is he like fifteen? And you're letting him drink?!"

She turned to Marco's friend and offered him her hand. "Here, lemme help you up."

[identity profile] mynameisax.livejournal.com 2010-03-17 09:14 am (UTC)(link)
"My mouth was full. I swallowed it to talk to you," Ax pouted at him. "Swah, swuh. I won't do that again."

He pulled his arm out of Marco's grip again and scuttled back under the table. He popped up on the opposite side, gripping the table to keep himself upright. "You don't get to kick me, kuh-ick kuh. I had to crawl inside your nose!"

The room tilted. Ax clung stubbornly to the table to remain upright, and nodded at the human who had just arrived. "Thank you, but I am not fifteen. Eeen, eeeenuh. I am two, but closer to sixteen of your years."
livestoannoy: (...Dude)

[personal profile] livestoannoy 2010-03-17 09:18 am (UTC)(link)
Marco stood up, and glared at Ax from the other side of the table. "Ax, shut up!" he hissed. Oh, he was so going to get back at Ax for that nose comment.

Sighing, he turned to Claudia. "He's older than he looks, alright? And I told him to have small doses, which, by the way, does not mean 'drink whenever anyone else does', Ax-man."

Claudia stood there frozen with her hand extended out, even though the dude had scurried under the table and out the other side. Weird speaking... Crawling inside Marco's nose?! The kid's name was AX? Noooooooo friggin way!!!!!!!!!!!!! ANIMORPHS? For real?!?!

She stood and straightened her shirt before flashing them both a bright smile. "Oh it's cool. I mean I guess we should be glad there's no food out yet.... Right, Aximili-Esgarrouth-Isthill?"

Ax blinked at her a couple times, but only in mild confusion. He had been public about his identity since the crew had battled and defeated the Yeerks. The information was probably on the comms somewhere, he decided.

"Perhaps, hapuhsuh, closer to seventeen now," he muttered absently, then scowled in Marco's direction. "I no longer feel pleasantly warm."
livestoannoy: (Huh?)

[personal profile] livestoannoy 2010-03-17 09:39 am (UTC)(link)
Marco looked from Claudia to Ax and back, frowning slightly. "You know Ax?"

Geez. Seems like Claudia really did know everyone on the ship. Which was so not fair. Marco wanted to meet the most awesome people!
onceadragon: (poooooooout)

[personal profile] onceadragon 2010-03-17 09:46 am (UTC)(link)
"Nope, never met him before," Claudia said crossing her arms as she looked between the two a few times. Suddenly she reached out and smacked marco's arm. "DUDE! Why didn't you tell me you were an animorph?! I mean we're suppose to be friends and you can't even tell me that?!"

Her bottom lip jutted out. "See if I tell you anything awesome anymore!!!"

[identity profile] mynameisax.livejournal.com 2010-03-17 09:57 am (UTC)(link)
Ax frowned at Claudia now. He couldn't remember if he'd ever actually said the word "Animorph" while on board. He started trying to shake off the fuzzy feeling inside his head.

< Should I start demorphing? > he asked Marco in private thought-speak. Was this something he ought to be concerned about?
livestoannoy: (This is my angry face)

[personal profile] livestoannoy 2010-03-17 10:18 am (UTC)(link)
At the mention of the word "Animorph," Marco's head instantly snapped to Claudia, and he narrowed his eyes at her.

Marco had been careful to never mention anything about the Animorphs. He'd rather keep his abilities as an ace up his sleeve. So he knew he'd never said anything about Ax or their abilities to Claudia. And if Claudia had never met Ax before...

"Where did you hear that word?" Marco asked, his voice deceptively calm. "I've never said it. And I know Ax and Tobias wouldn't go around telling people about us."

He fixed Claudia with an intense stare. "Have you been spying on us, is that it?" he hissed. "Or did you get someone else to do it? Do you did around an gossip about what you find out?"

His eyes flicked to Ax for an instant, and he nodded - just slightly, not enough to be obvious to Claudia, but enough that Ax would be able to see it.

"Wait what?!" Claudia blurted out, her eyes widening in complete surprise at Marco's narrowed eyes and who... His crazy accussations. "Look dude, I," she jerked her thumb at herself, "don't spy on people! What kinda crazy nutjob do you think I am?!"

Suddenly it dawned on her what he'd said before and she couldn't help the flicker of excitement that crossed her expression. "Dude, Tobia is here too? What about the others?" Ugh! She groaned and reached up and smacked her forehead. When would she learn to shut up?!

"Look dude, I'm not friggin spying on you, OK? 'Cause for one, I have waaaaaaaaaaaaay better things to be doin' with my time. But anyway, you wouldn't believe me if I told you."

Ax had slipped back under the table and begun to demorph. As he did, the pleasant, fuzzy feeling began to slip away, to be replaced by...utter mortification. He he really just said "screw you and your moving floors"?

He was so glad Elfangor wasn't here...

Marco left Ax to his own devices - he knew he could rely on Ac to back him up, whatever happened.

He liked Claudia, yes. She was cute and funny and smart and arguing about how had met the coolest people on the ship with her was fun. But Marco has spent three years of his life fighting the Yeerk War. And he had never really managed to unlearn the mentality that anyone could be an enemy. He probably never would.

So right now? He was definitely regarding Claudia as a possible enemy to him, Ax and Tobias. Maybe even Elfnagor and Loren too, although the other Animorphs were definitely Marco's priority. If she knew information about him that he hadn't revealed then she had a source that was out of Marco's control, and that she potential had information about him and the other Animorphs that could be used against them.

But she was supposed to be a friend. Maybe not someone he could trust yet, but at least someone who wouldn't stab him in the back anytime soon. To say that Marco was not happy about this would be a massive understatement. And he definitely wanted an explanation.

"If you weren't spying, then how the hell do you know about us?" he said cooly. "We don't go around telling people we're Animorphs."

And Claudia had spent most of her time growing up on her own and had learned long ago how to take care of herself - and one of those skills attached to that was knowing when you were about to get some sort of beat down. Now normally she would never have worried about whether or not Marco was about to kick her ass... But normally she hadn't just blurted out something about him being an Animorph either...

She took a step back just incase... A little more room between them certainly would not hurt in the slightest.

"Uh..." she frowned, her nose scrunching up a bit. This was so not cool. Not cool at all. She was about to tell someone they were characters in a book? Claudia would normally never tell someone something like this about them, but the dude standing infront of her was able to turn into a great number of animals - many who could make her into a snack - and well, a girl had to do what a girl had to do.

"Dude, you know how there are people here who are like from TV shows and video games and stuff? Yeeeah. You and your friends? Try books. A whole series. I read them when I was like twelve."

[identity profile] mynameisax.livejournal.com 2010-03-21 10:27 pm (UTC)(link)
Ax's head thunked against the underside of the table. Hopefully the sound was lost in the general noise of the bar.

< Is she particularly intelligent? > he asked Marco privately. < Or was this book series likely intended to be read by human pre-teens? >

Who would encourage children to read detailed accounts of the sort of things the Animorphs had done?!
livestoannoy: (WTF?!)

[personal profile] livestoannoy 2010-03-22 12:56 am (UTC)(link)
Stop worrying about Marco, Claudia - you need to be worrying about the Andalite demorphing under the table.

As for Marco? He was currently staring. At Claudia. With a completely dumbfounded expression on his face.

See, he knew there were "fictional" people on board. And they they weren't really fictional - it's just that their stories had ended up in other universes. And meeting people like Spider-man and Samus and Captain Kirk was awesome. But he'd never really considered that he could be one of them. But now that he did? He did not like the idea. He'd been so careful about what he revealed, and now possibly any number of random people could have just read about their entire lives?!

Marco's eyes flicked to the table - and since he wasn't in morph, he couldn't answer. But that was certainly a mark against Claudia's claim. Yeah, she was smart. Real smart. But come on, reading about them at twelve? That was insane!

He narrowed his eyes. Claudia could be telling the truth - but she could still be lying to try and cover up how she really got the information. Marco wasn't sure which he wanted it to be - if she was lying, yeah it'd turn out she was really a backstabbing bitch. But at least it wouldn't mean that anyone could know all their secrets.

Marco needed to find out.

"Alright then. Let's assume this is true. If it is, you'd know stuff about us that no one else could. So tell me - what happened to Cassie that time when she ended up in Australia?"

He'd have to watch carefully when she answered, for signs that she was lying. See, the thing is? Marco didn't really know the answer. Cassie had always been a bit vague on what happened. And he was confidant that Ax and Tobias didn't know either. Which meant that there was absolutely no way that anyone else on the ship could have gotten the information from them, either by psychically poking around in their heads or eavesdropping on their conversations. It was a question Claudia could only answer if she had in fact read about them in some books before she ever got onto Stacy.

"Uh," Claudia muttered trying to recall that incident from the books. It had been about seven years since she'd read them. "Oh! Oh! You know how Cassie ended up staying with an aboriginal family? She so had a crush on the younger dude from that family. But she didn't say anything to you all because she was dating Jake at the time," she informed them with an almost smug smile.

"Why would I make this up?" She demanded suddenly, her eyes narrowing as her hands propped on her hips. "I've never lied to you Marco, why the hell would I start now? You think I'm some.. Whatever? I don't even know... We can go to Dr. Grey and she can totally read my mind if you think I'm lying!"
