CEEEEEELEBRATE GOOD TIMES~

Several buildings in the City had been completely destroyed during Aang's rampage, but a few had survived relatively unscathed. It had only taken Kang two days to repair the Drunken Dragon; he'd done so by himself, not even waiting for his leg to heal up a bit first.

Usually, he didn't bother lighting any candles or using the fireplace in the tavern unless it was a period when the artificial sun had set. He could see perfectly fine in the dim light. For the celebration, though, he'd thrown the windows open wide, scrounged up every candle he could find, and started up a fire, knowing that human vision wasn't as good as his own. The tables surrounding the stage had been cleaned, as well as the tankards, and the door was propped open. The bozak had even wrestled two of the 60-gallon barrels from the back room into a corner of the main room for easier access, one of cactus juice and one of ale. If more was needed, he was sure he could get someone to help bring out another.

Tess had commandeered the kitchen to make her food, bringing in her own equipment. Kang had been slightly afraid at first that she was going to burn the place down, but nothing had happened yet. She seemed to know what she was doing, even if she'd given him a few scares.

The sunlight glistened on the old sword blade teeth and dinnerplate eyes of the comical-looking wooden dragon grinning above the entrance. Come in, relax, have a drink and a bite to eat!

[OOC note: Both drinks are alcoholic, and the cactus juice has twice the kick of the ale. :D;]

Billy sniffs at the ale curiously, then wrinkles his nose. "I'm not sure that's a safe course of action. I'd prefer to keep my intellect intact, in case anything unfortunate happens. With the volatility of this crew, I'm anticipating a bar fight."

Looking Jamie over, he's relieved to see that his friend has healed for the most part. "I'm glad that damage was reversible."

"Ye don't have to actually drink it. It's just for show, aye?" Jamie's tankard is not, as is demonstrated when he takes a drink from it. "And ye may be right." Or they may just fall asleep, depending on how much everyone's caught up on their rest. "Don't worry, though, I've no intention of getting involved in any fights if they happen."

As he catches Billy's relieved glance, the smile broadens even further for a moment. "Aye, Katara helped." He looks down at his leg, and for a moment, there's an expression of sheer wonder on his face. "I've not seen anything like it before."

He's quite serious as he adds, "I need to find some way of thanking her for that."

"Right," he nods. Convince them that he's having a good time and he'll be left alone. Why doesn't he ever think of these things?

"She's healed me once before. It's fascinating to watch." Billy planted his chin in his hand, thinking about the Waterbender. "I know it's been rough for her, with how disastrous the reunion with her love turned out."

"Aye, well, Katara's a strong lass. And I think things could have turned out much worse." He doesn't think anyone's dead, which is pretty much a miracle, all things considered.

"The City's a wee bit worse for the wear, though," he adds, dryly. "Why is it, ye think, that we always wind up having these great battles in here?"
