Building a family [hella open]
Slobo had been puttering around the ship for an hour, thinking and looking. He quickly found that if you looked hard enough, between W&P and the City itself, you could find anything. In the end, he was standing outside a Courtyard by Marriott hotel about a click outside of "Escherville" with spraypaint and a very large block of stone. At first he had thought about the Vatican, but it was too wrecked from the zombie fight. Plus, this place had an indoor pool. He spraypainted a large message on the wall next to the door, red with black outline.
"OUTSIDERS
COMMUNITY SERVICE
FIELD TRAINING
COMMUNITY SERVICE
FIELD TRAINING
PEER COUNSELING"
On the sandwich board tucked near the door, he wrote "12-21? Info and Tryouts inside" and left it out in front. Now, he took his large rock into the lobby and began carving. And waited.

Paco's arm. Jaime's face. We could have died.
But that was being dictated by personal feelings. She could see that Lex was more concerned if they would even be able to stand against the pirate threat. But everyone had prejudged him. Mai had called him another Azula...and that bothered her too. She wished she could have unseen Azula's tears, that look in her eyes: more than anything, it was unfair, to see someone who could have been like her corrupted and then taken apart. She wanted to help her enemy at that moment and she knew that feeling ,made no sense.
Still...
And then she came upon the building. This was...odd. What was happening here?
She walked in, and was immediately put at ease. "Slobo! Static! Hey guys! What are you up to?"

So the mage found herself flying through Stacy's corridors and the city, just trying to clear her mind and clear her thoughts about the people that weren't there with her... as far as she knew. Nanoha wouldn't have noticed Slobo's sign if she hadn't been looking directly at the hotel by a matter of chance, but it caught her eye.
She flew downward, touching to the ground, and the magenta wings on her heels vanished. Her gaze went to the sign, then to the open doors of the lobby... then back to the sign and once more back to the lobby. The services rendered seemed fairly par for the course, but it was the name that struck her more than anything.
So, she cautiously peeked inside to see a boy that looked unfamiliar working on a large block of stone. "Ah... hello? Are you the one who wrote the sign here?"

"The team. See, we got a mission statement. Since bad blood in an evergrowin' crew is a problem that can, and apparently has, lead to huge fights, we stay outta the petty problems and train so if security an' command need sudden, objective backup, they can call us." He was getting used to this shpiel, it was almost becoming programmed.
"If ya do a tryout, and don't make the field team, ya can still hang out. We have a pool, and we're lookin' at gettin' video games. And we're gonna offer trainin' to folks who need it once we're all set up."

And even that was too much to think about.
So, he unbent his head at the whiff of poisonous air coming off Slobo's attempts at decor and dangled it's entire length over the side to watch him work. Fascinating, the ways humans mark things...the dragon lifted on his haunches like a cat and barked a low greeting down at the boy.

"Yo. How can I help ya?" Slobo said nonchalantly.

Still she dropped her bags with a heavy thud and metallic clanging in the lobby of the hotel. "Nice digs, wonder if they still have room service." A single sapphire eye wandered around the confines of the place and a smile bloomed slowly across her lips.

The Pool Is Now Open!!! (Nudity ahead)
"Now this is all kinds of ok." She grinned broadly and dropped her bag and began shucking her way out of the form fitted plant suit Stacy was kind enough to tentacle her up in again. Once the living suit was pealed from her body she dipped a toe in the water. True to Slobo's word it was warm and crystal clear.
"Cannonball!" With a running start she launched herself into the air, curling her knees to her chest as her nude form flew through the air, landing in a ball and deluging water out around her.
Re: The Pool Is Now Open!!! (Nudity ahead)
This was the line of thought that found it's way into Static's head as he went down the hallway to try out the first batch of master keycards that should unlock the pool, only to find the door already opened. And the pool occupied.
"Rose?"

That's the one thought that ran through Shadow's mind as he raced across the ship. As he did, he ended up discovering the hotel and the sign.
"Outsiders? Com--" Shadow began before stopping. "Just what in the heck IS this?! It sounds like some sort of... oh, I don't know...!"
He couldn't get the words out right, but he's probably thinking of those community help center things.

Dragons? Sure. Healers? No prob. Deadly knife chicks? Awesome.
But a talking anthropromorphic hedgehog? You HAD to be kidding him.
Still, beggars can't be choosers.

Alright, fine, he'll bite. And if it turns out badly, well, it's a big ship and he can easily
run away and hideavoid them.He finds Slobo pretty much immediately, still staying a distance away. "What's this about?" he asks, tone carefully neutral.
no subject
"Well, we live tagether, train tagether, and stay the frag outta the bickering of the crew in the interest of solid teamwork, friendship, and most importantly, getting sprock DONE." That was the easiest way to say it, in the end.
"I can be more wordy and lengthy if ya'd like."

So she decided to check it out. She walked inside, looking around the building. It was certainly nicer to be in a building that didn't look alive, she had to admit.
