Building a family [hella open]

Slobo had been puttering around the ship for an hour, thinking and looking. He quickly found that if you looked hard enough, between W&P and the City itself, you could find anything. In the end, he was standing outside a Courtyard by Marriott hotel about a click outside of "Escherville" with spraypaint and a very large block of stone. At first he had thought about the Vatican, but it was too wrecked from the zombie fight. Plus, this place had an indoor pool. He spraypainted a large message on the wall next to the door, red with black outline.
"OUTSIDERS
COMMUNITY SERVICE
FIELD TRAINING
PEER COUNSELING

On the sandwich board tucked near the door, he wrote "12-21? Info and Tryouts inside" and left it out in front. Now, he took his large rock into the lobby and began carving. And waited.

Pirogoeth grasped his forearm. She never did get anyone to tell her people just shook hands, but hey, she is from a medieval setting. "Pirogoeth," Pirogoeth replied, thinking over what he said.

"...it may be of worth to see how it goes."

The forearm shake was a little..weird, but Static could deal with that. On a ship like this, there wasn't much that qualified as 'normal'.

"Welcome aboard, then. Have a look around, and let me know if you need anything, if anything doesn't make sense."

"I was curious about a term. What is 'peer counseling?'" Pirogoeth asked.

...she heard of a counselor. They gave advice to those they worked for.

She knew about peers.

But she wasn't sure how that went together and didn't just end up as advice.

"Peer counseling is just like it sounds; someone to listen to your problems and offer some advice. Only difference between that and a proper therapist is a bit of connection- a Therapist has the 'when I was your age' angle, peer counselors have the 'dude, I've been there. In fact, I'm still kinda there' angle. It's someone who gets the issues 'cause they're right around the same age. And, more importantly, we use the term 'cause none of us are doctors."

"Therapist?" Pirogoeth said, looking confused at this word.

Therapists did not exist in her time and world.

"So it is...verbal venting and advice?"

"Pretty much, yeah. It's someone to listen and help you unwind all those weary woes we wantonly pull onto ourselves. It's having someone there for you when you need it."

Pirooeth nodded. "I see...does this group require people to stay in this place?" She asked.

She had volunteered to room with Alessa for more than just keeping the 'little girl' company.

"Oh, no, not in the least. But, we do offer people rooms if they want. No living meaty walls, you see."

"I will decline that offer. Besides, there are some advantages to being within that part of the ship," Pirogoeth said. Namely there was a lot of the forces she used for her magic there.
