Loren had spent a long, long time in GLaDOS. And when she was back, as far as she could tell, nothing had really changed. Her fiance was gone. So was her son. She knew they were alive but she still missed them.

She grabbed her baseball bat and retrieved the baseballs she'd bought during Shore Leave, found a nice spot in the City, and started hitting them. It was one way to get the stress out. And it worked even better if she imagined the baseballs were the Ohm.
Closing the last document she'd pulled up to read on stone masonry, Sakura sighed. She was pretty sure she had everything in place to start on repairs to the damage she'd caused, even if she wasn't sure there was anyone on ship who had a vested interest in caring. If it felt right to her to help remake what she'd unintentionally made a crater in the middle of, then she would remake the damn wall.

If it wasn't a project she'd ever tackled before. Would she have to end up scavenging much stone? Last time she was out there, she thought most of it would be salvageable...

She sat back in her chair, biting her lower lip. In China, the Chinese spoke Chinese. She'd looked all that up, learning in process of learning the history behind the wall. All of this reminded her of something else, and the reason she'd taken part of the wall out in the first place.

Were Hispanics then part of Hispania? They spoke Spanish, apparently, but weren't part of Spain. A search for what countries on Earth spoke Spanish landed her a laundry list, while searching for Hispanic once again landed her back where she started: the Iberian Peninsula.

She was doing something wrong, and chasing her tail in circles over an answer that didn't really matter was starting to drive her up a wall. Figuring out one person's country of origin shouldn't be this hard -- if she did ignore that she hadn't outright asked. Or she had, but then his answer hadn't made any sense. What kind of recourse did she even --

Sakura's eyes lit on her omnicomm. There's always that possibility, she thought to herself. Ask and see what general knowledge can do for you. She pulled it closer, hesitating, and then shrugging past her own reservations. Asking shouldn't hurt. She'd rather try and learn from anyone more willing to be forthright with her than pull teeth on someone who wouldn't. Typing into her omnicomm, she was only partly aware of anyone else moving around this portion of the media library around her. To those from any of the Earth's represented on ship...

[ ooc: Asking on the Comm here. Sakura hasn't twigged to nationality and race being separate (or that race is something to be self aware of), and is still trying to figure out what countries count as Hispanic Territories to explain how one can identify as "Hispanic/Half-Hispanic" and yet not tell her where their dual citizenship might potentially lie, when Spain isn't one of them. ]

5th-May-2011 04:14 pm - Finally some roomie tim-whoops.
It had been an arduous few days. Between the situation with people losing memories and then the people coming back from the Ohm attack, Kaya had been pretty busy. She hadn't even left the med bay, preferring to sleep here instead of back at the Outsider's hotel. She knew she had already missed quite a bit due to this: sessions with Chase, the upkeep of the hotel, and general having fun time, but priorities were priorities. Now that she had some time to herself though, she was hoping to spent some time helping her roommate decorate and at least have some general fun: Alex, after all, had brought all of those interesting black light things, why not put them to good use?

She walked up the stairs of the hotel, making a beeline straight for the hotel suite. It was one of the good things about not having to be alone: it didn't matter that Alex was a boy, at least he was SOMEONE she could talk to on a daily basis. Besides, she had those sliding doors now, so they could respect each others privacy.

But then she reached the room and opened the door, and saw all of his things were gone, specifically the laptop he prized so much, and she knew he had been podded. She closed her eyes a moment, slowly counting to ten, tears springing to her eyes.
Of course.
She took a breath, then wiped her eyes and closed the door, going back down the steps, and quietly closing the door behind her. She wanted to scream, or cry, or throw a fit at least, but none of these things would bring Alex back. So she just wandered the city park for the moment, looking tired.
23rd-Apr-2011 04:53 pm - Exercise Without Magic (Open)
The tapping of feet on the city streets slowed to a halt as Negi, or rather "Nagi" Springfield slowed to a halt, breathing a little heavy. He had gone out for a run, and had shut off his magic for about a couple of hours so that he could get a bit of a normal workout in.

He hadn't counted on how hard it was to do the things he did without his magic. Certainly he had a really good sense of what his body was capable of without it since the last time he shut off his magic, but this was just ridiculous. He wasn't painfully out of shape but his endurance had been effectively cut to a tenth of what it was supposed to be.

Checking his wrist, the black line was gradually easing off, a sign that the seal was beginning to diminish. Patting his forehead with the towel that he had brought, he took a drink of water from the bottle he had managed to make up before heading out.

"Well Nagi old boy, you've really gotten to the point you're officially bored," remarked Negi to the air as he leaned against a wall.
15th-Apr-2011 08:30 pm - Monsters and Mazes
As you enter the Sensorium today you find a most peculiar sight.

A large black wall with a 8-bit logo reading "Monsters and Mazes"

And two simple words.

"Start Game."

Upon choosing this a new menu appears showing a series of options:

Fighter
Paladin
Hunter
Rogue
Wizard
Cleric
Bard

What to do what to do?
The paladin stood before the unshielded windows of the obs deck, arms crossed. Outside, the enigmatic Bleed passed by as the ship pushed through it.

He stood for long minutes, unmoving, watching the mysterious space pass by. The closest to absolute solid proof he could have that Azeroth was destroyed, and that he and a few other people were the only ones left alive and awake from that world.

Though he still wore his armor and carried his weapons, they were, for now, useless. No fear of a Scourge uprising, a kobold demanding he no take candle, or even an Alliance raid eager to right years of perceived injustice in Hillsbrad. Just a bunch of people on a ship.

"It's all right," he said, finally, "but I liked the Twisting Nether better."
With the great help she had received from a good deal of interested crew members, the construction and upgrade to the bathhouse had proceeded rapidly and smoothly. The second more open floor looked as much a part of the bathhouse as any other, with enough room and supports to easily allow crew members as large if not larger than herself to access and utilize the second floor just as easily as any other. The second floor itself could be accessed from both within the bathhouse itself or from a set of stairs along the side of the building, a path now leading easily around from the front to show the way to this side entrance.

With the announcment of the completion and reopening of the Bathhouse sent around the comms. Celena padded through the hallways, touring all of the various baths, private, segregated or otherwise to ensure that all were in top working order for any who may wish to use them. Once she was sure that everything was in top condition and the water flowing properly in all cases she set out the open sign.

((ooc: Feel free to mingle around, relax, and have a party if your so inclined. Just start a subthread with your character's location and have fun. For reference there are individual showers in front, followed by hot tubs centrally located, saunas further back, and private baths along the side. The showers, tubs, and saunas have smaller sex-segregated units along with a central group unit that's larger. The second level spans the majority of the bathhouse with both individual rooms and areas with the heating pads as well as open areas one can relax and look out over the surrounds))

1st-Apr-2011 12:10 pm - Meat n' Greet
The rest of the crew assembled on the Observation Deck to meet the latest editions to their numbers. After the revelation that their worlds are gone, many of them are even more eager to see people they knew from home.

Several people are set up near the doors to provide the new people with omnicoms and comm rings. New crew-mates might see a tall man in green armor and snake girl among their number. There are also several authoritative-looking figures ready to introduce themselves.

There's a lot to tell the new people. It's going to be a lot to take in.

[ooc: Only new characters and Command Staff can start new threads for introductions, to limit the number of threads. Everyone else, just tag in and have your guys greet the newbies.]
