Of malfunctioning portals, parks and dragons [Open]

Taking some time from other projects, Celena had once more brought down her Paired Gate device down to the park in an attempt to work on a number of issues of the operation of the device while in the Bleed. After all if a stable gate could be established, even for short periods of time, it could make for quick travel about the city and about the ship in general.

Thus in her usual draconic form she had set herself before the primary end of the gate device in the middle of a large clearing in the park, with the secondary portion of the device not a hundred feet away. After some time in pondering the problem she had decided to take a break from her work. Locking the device down she stretched herself out and padded away to wander the park for a short while before taking off to stretch her wings. Keeping her general flight path around the vicinity of the park itself.

[OOC: Feel free to run into her at any point, whether while she's working on the device, wandering the park or even flying around overhead!]

"All right," Rachel shrugged. "I just figured you might be weirded out or something, I guess." Because she still wasn't used to the process, and watching it was undeniably gross. Rachel closed her eyes, focusing on the thought of Celena, and felt herself being to change shape.

"Fair enough," Rachel muttered. Of course, she still thought morphing was gross, after all this time. Maybe not weird but one hundred percent not pleasant. But even while she replied easily, most of her attention was on morphing. She could feel herself shifting and growing as she spoke, the plantsuit working as perfect morphing clothes. Her skin turning grey and tougher-- not that unlike the elephant morph, at least as first-- while her bones and skin restructured to make the dragon form. And, knowing what she was becoming this time around, there was something way cool about it.

It wouldn't be long before she had taken the brand new form, new dragon eyes fluttering to take a close look at Celena across from her, a very similar form. It was a bit weird to be in her friend's head, more or less, but she could feel the raw power of the dragon morph in her. So yeah-- 'way cool' was pretty accurate.

((ooc: still need to sort icons to fit it in, so link for now. :) ))

< This is kind of awesome, > Rachel said, with a laugh in her 'voice'. Celena's form was pretty clearly capable of speech, but she defaulted to thought speech anyway, because that was normal and easy for morphs. Rather than figuring out how a dragon spoke.

On that note, she began to try and figure out other things-- stretching out the wings and the legs, getting a feel for the body. At least there were no insane, raging instincts to deal with.

< Going to go ahead and agree that it's better than a bird's eye view, from down here, > she commented idly. She looked up, focusing the eyes, curious what else Celena could do-- and now, by extension, Celena. < Want to go for a fly? >

((ooc: Let me know if I take any liberties or anything, by the by.))

Rachel's own snout mimicked the gesture easily, and the smile was heard in her 'voice' when she replied as well. < Great, > she replied, following her lead and spreading her own wings, ready to take off behind Celena. Flying was one of Rachel's favourite things about morphing, that was for sure.

< Okay, so this might just be awesome, > Rachel said, voice grinning now as she beat her new wings to catch Celena and to stay steady in the air. She was a fairly natural flyer, given the instincts built in and her experience in other forms, but this was still something so different. If Tobias saw her now...

< Just maybe, > Rachel agreed, giving her best approximation of a grin with the dragon snout. She flapped her wings, getting herself the last bit higher, before she was soaring over the city. It was thrilling, to see the whole thing from above like this, and to catch some wind more intensely than even the eagle or owl could.

She let the advanced sight scan the city below, too, taking it in. < Okay yeah, vision is a bonus too. >

< You're telling me, > Rachel agreed, nodding 'her' head a little. The enhanced sight was always a nice perk to some of her morphs (though her favourite morph didn't really have that advantage), but it still didn't compared to the flying.

She watched Celena do the barrel roll above her, grinning her new dragon grin, before she swooped upwards, taking some more air. A dive seemed like fun-- as long as she didn't get close enough to break anything, in her new, larger form.

((ooc: You're fine! I've been lagging behind a lot myself sob.))

Rachel was just out to have some simple fun-- and get a feel for how well she could control it, too, while she was at it. As an added bonus. Once she felt like she had enough height, flapping slightly to keep herself steady, far above the city, she turned to take a nosedive, wings coming in close to the body. She intended to pull up last minute, catch herself with the wings and stop herself before she hit the city itself.

((ooc: Already told you you're fine! ♥))

Rachel was slightly shaky with pulling up, to shoot back into the air last minute, wings flapping to catch herself slightly. But she let the instincts and mind of the morph do most of the thinking and working, letting herself get carried away.

< That was awesome. >

Rachel was basically grinning, both externally and internally, now. She watched Celena as she flew, and said, < I can do a bit as a bird, but this is way more. > Now that she'd gained some air again, she imitated the move, letting herself spin in mid-air.

< Basically, yeah, > Rachel agreed, enjoying the feeling of the power in this form. She loved flying as a bird but this was something else. The sheer strength and skill of it was something to be admired.

< Might have a new favourite morph, > she joked.
