trans_9 | Of malfunctioning portals, parks and dragons [Open]

Taking some time from other projects, Celena had once more brought down her Paired Gate device down to the park in an attempt to work on a number of issues of the operation of the device while in the Bleed. After all if a stable gate could be established, even for short periods of time, it could make for quick travel about the city and about the ship in general.

Thus in her usual draconic form she had set herself before the primary end of the gate device in the middle of a large clearing in the park, with the secondary portion of the device not a hundred feet away. After some time in pondering the problem she had decided to take a break from her work. Locking the device down she stretched herself out and padded away to wander the park for a short while before taking off to stretch her wings. Keeping her general flight path around the vicinity of the park itself.

[OOC: Feel free to run into her at any point, whether while she's working on the device, wandering the park or even flying around overhead!]

Celena grinned right on back across to Rachel at that, wings held steady out to either side as she soared along with her friend in draconic form. She never did get tired of soaring above the city below.

She knew well the capabilities of her form and sight, after all she did at often times watch the city and its comings and goings from the skies above. "It certainly proves itself useful," she commented with a chuckle, arching one wing up to perform an easy barrel roll over Rachel's form to level out on the other side.

< You're telling me, > Rachel agreed, nodding 'her' head a little. The enhanced sight was always a nice perk to some of her morphs (though her favourite morph didn't really have that advantage), but it still didn't compared to the flying.

She watched Celena do the barrel roll above her, grinning her new dragon grin, before she swooped upwards, taking some more air. A dive seemed like fun-- as long as she didn't get close enough to break anything, in her new, larger form.

Celena dipped her head in return at that, before watching her with a smile as her friend swooped upwards, easily following the maneuver and keeping pace with Rachel. Figuring easily what she intended to do. Dives were always fun, that said, dives for Celena often involved diving in amongst the buildings of the city itself to soar through the streets, not quite the level yet as to what Rachel would be attempting.

Rachel was just out to have some simple fun-- and get a feel for how well she could control it, too, while she was at it. As an added bonus. Once she felt like she had enough height, flapping slightly to keep herself steady, far above the city, she turned to take a nosedive, wings coming in close to the body. She intended to pull up last minute, catch herself with the wings and stop herself before she hit the city itself.

Celena would have had no objections to such fun, especially in regards to flight, it was one of the things in life she enjoyed most, the feel of wind beneath her wings and the rush it brought when she wove through even the most difficult of areas. Without thinking twice Celena joined Rachel in her dive, though giving her enough space, though ready to catch her with her energies should her dive get out of control.

Rachel was slightly shaky with pulling up, to shoot back into the air last minute, wings flapping to catch herself slightly. But she let the instincts and mind of the morph do most of the thinking and working, letting herself get carried away.

Celena waited a moment longer than Rachel before pulling up so that she came within feet of skimming the rooftops themselves, wings spread wide to catch the air, with but a few beats of her wings she sailed up beside Rachel once more.

"Agreed, there's much more than simple dives though," Celena called back with a chuckle, turning one wing one way and the other opposite to spin on axis once.

Rachel was basically grinning, both externally and internally, now. She watched Celena as she flew, and said, < I can do a bit as a bird, but this is way more. > Now that she'd gained some air again, she imitated the move, letting herself spin in mid-air.

Celena smiled widely as she watched her friend fly along side her. Dipping her head at the comment, "I can imagine, few birds however could truly compare to the flight dragons are capable of, they have their own advantages though," she replied with absolute confidence in the capabilities of her kind in terms of flight, though indeed, birds often had the advantage of small size and generally more maneuverable, where as very few birds could achieve the velocities a dragon could when they set their minds to it.

< Basically, yeah, > Rachel agreed, enjoying the feeling of the power in this form. She loved flying as a bird but this was something else. The sheer strength and skill of it was something to be admired.
