Meet-n-Greet
The rest of the crew assembled on the Observation Deck to meet the latest editions to their numbers. After the revelation that their worlds are gone, many of them are even more eager to see people they knew from home.
Several people are set up near the doors to provide the new people with omnicoms and comm rings. New crew-mates might see a tall man in green armor and snake girl among their number. There are also several authoritative-looking figures ready to introduce themselves.
There's a lot to tell the new people. It's going to be a lot to take in.
[ooc: Only new characters and Command Staff can start new threads for introductions, to limit the number of threads. Everyone else, just tag in and have your guys greet the newbies.]

He made a mental note to find somewhere to get a cigarette, too.
Chris still looked uneasy as he scanned the crowd for any sign of a familiar face, as unlikely as it was.

So, Claire tore herself away from Sherry, and made her way up to the Observation Deck. She hung back at the door for a long moment, surveying the scene as well as making sure the door had people watching it to make sure no infected caused problems. She was actually content on sticking right there, until she noticed a familiar head of hair among the others.
"...Chris?" She said quietly, too surprised to move for a moment. Then she remembered she could move, and started through the crowd, pushing and shoving as politely as she could. "Chris!"
no subject
Chris did a little pushing of his own and as soon as he reached her, he threw his arms around her and nearly lifted her off the ground. "God, I'm glad to see you."
no subject
"Ditto. I was starting to think I'd have to go find you in the pod caverns myself."
no subject
Then he held her at arm's length and had a look at her, switching back into Brother Mode. "Are you okay? Did you just get here too?"
no subject
"No. I've been awake for over a year, now."
no subject
He squeezed her shoulder as the relaxed expression on his face dropped. "What are you talking about, a year? I just saw you last month. We went to dinner, remember?" Was she not feeling well either?
no subject
"But I've been out for a year, and you've been sleeping. So... where it's only been a month since you saw me, it's been a year, for me."
no subject
"What the hell is going on here?" he muttered. "This is messed up."
no subject
"Short version? Our universe got destroyed by a bunch of #^&@ed up aliens, and this ship saved our lives, so that we could fight the aliens."
no subject
He let out a heavy sigh, shaking his head and putting his hands on her shoulders again. "If our whole universe is gone, I don't know what I'd do if you weren't here." At the same time, he didn't like the idea of his little sister being drafted into an intergalactic war.
"Are you sure you're all right?"

"Lookin' for friends, huh?"

"I'm just-- geez, this is some situation, though."

Chris scanned the crowd again for any sign of somebody he knew... or maybe for any sign of somebody who might be this poor kid's parent. "I'm Chris," he said after a moment. "What's your name?"
no subject
He had followed Chris' gaze with these thoughts in mind, wondering if he'd ever see any of his friends again. When Chris spoke up, he blinked up, snapping out of it.
"Name's Jr. ... Gaignun Jr. It looks like we're gonna have a lot of work to do."
