Kneel before your god
Shiva spoke through the comms (not the omnicomms) directly into the minds of the crew.
«I am Shiva. I am the destroyer of all that you know and the creator of a grand new empire. For months you thought of me as my host, Charles Kawalsky, but now you shall see me in all my glory. I have positioned bombs throughout this vessel, including the pod caverns. I need but press the trigger and they will explode. I also have one hostage of my own, Sheryl. You will not be able to stop me. I am fully equipped with a power dampener, and a forcefield. I am untouchable. You have one hour to surrender yourselves to me and begin your new lives as my slaves.»
His eyes flashed gold and he held his hostage firmly. He did not wish to wait, but if he tired of this he would amend his demands. For now he stayed in one of the areas in the City hidden from Stacy’s view, in the middle of a pile of rubble, with not a landmark in sight.
Still, he knew they would come.

Now they learned that the man some had thought had been their friend was a parasite bent on making them their personal slaves, and was threatening the safety of hundreds, if not thousands.
Re: Reactions
"Well, that fella sounds a few do-si-dos short of a square dance."
Re: Reactions
Sylia collapses against the machine she'd been working on, then starts slamming it with her fists. She hits it hard enough to break the screen, and blood starts dripping down her hand.
Why didn't she notice? Why did she feel so disgusted with herself she wanted to scrub her skin until it bled too?
Why did she trust so blindly in this godforsaken place?
OH MAN OH GOD OH MAN
Re: Reactions
Right now? All he knew was that he wanted both the hostage safe AND "Kawalsky" captured.
"I hope no one's planning to go gung-ho here..." he mused.
Re: Reactions
"Hmph. Not even a month. Congratulations, captain. Sure did a fine job here." Shadow mused, sitting on a rooftop in a relaxed position.
Re: Reactions
This was exactly the kind of thing he needed after finding out the scarab's possible origins with the Ohm--parasites looking bad so symbiotes got a bad name, too.
Oh yeah, and that whole bomb and hostage thing sucked too, but he had faith the crew would be able to rally together and fix this, however dire it was.
Time to find Leon and figure out where they were needed most.
Re: Reactions
"Dear Captain, whoever you are..." she swings past a hallway and goes straight on. "...you better have a plan, sprock it!"
Re: Reactions
Well, this was serious.
She didn't know the hostage nor this traitor, but wasn't this guy a comrade of Kang's?
Astrid bit her lip sourly, hunched against the wall in her living quarters.
Now what should she do...
Re: Reactions
This? Was as if someone decided to sell out Junk Guild to Blue Cosmos.
Right now, though, he was tempted to find this creep and give him a good punch in the face.

And if it is true... all those people in the pods... they can't do a fragging thing to defend themselves. This was beyond contempt! Something had to be done! Determined to at least make an effort, Ratchet transforms and takes off for the caverns.
Re: Reactions
"Aye. We'll just see about that."
Dropping the project he was working on, he bolts out of the room before the rest of the message even finishes. Fortunately for the rest of the crew, he's intent on finding one of the Doctors first.

Re: Reactions
With an annoyed sound, she slid off her bunk, pulling open the locker she kept at the foot of her bed. Reaching in, she yanked out her 'uniform'. It took only moments for her so suit up, pulling her hair back into a ponytail, she slid her goggles onto her head, shouldered her rifle, and stepped out of the room, shimmering for a moment, before vanishing from sight.
She'd need to speak to Kennedy about this. He was the captain after all, wasn't he?
Re: Reactions
"Bombs? Life and death situation? Megalomaniac with delusions of grandeur?" She snorted. "Must be Wednesday."
Damn it. Midnighter and Apollo would have been so damned useful here.
Shaking her head, she took off and headed for the Obs Deck, splitting off a couple of copies of herself to start looking for the bombs.
Re: Reactions
She spoke specifically to Fletcher, "Where are you? I want you close to me."
Leon had been in charge, what was it? A month? And already such a traitor was found among his ranks. And he wanted her to submit to him? No, she would not be doing something so base with no chance of ripping the power from beneath his feet like she had with Greed.
He was some sort of parasite it seemed, since he spoke of a host. With all the chatter on the omnicomms about getting rid of GLaDOS, she would think that perhaps at least someone might be concerned with getting bugs out of the crew.
At least he was not an Ohm.
He might have some defences, but there was no such thing as untouchable. Even stone corroded over the years.
She re-adjusted the swords in her belt, before making her way to search for Leon. He was getting her help on this whether he wanted it or not. There was not a creature alive that could threaten her children and not have her do all in her power to see them torn down.

Re: Reactions
It was a good thing he had done some research into figuring out what the odd ring thing was back when he had first gotten on the ship, since his mind had decided to check out for the explanation before the meet and greet. If he hadn't he would have been a lot more scared upon hearing the strange voice interrupting his quiet singing.
Instead, he was freaked out by what was said. He did not like either option presented.
He was surprised by his own next thought, There is no way I can let someone crush a free spirit like Luna into something like slavery, and there is no way I'll let him kill her either. Since when did he feel so strongly about the girl? If he had to guess, he would say that he would think of the Doctor first, but apparently Luna's charm had gotten further under his skin then he thought, not that it really mattered. Either way, he wanted to do something to help out somehow.
He pushed himself from the computer after saving the file with two taps of the keyboard and pulled out his omnicomm, quickly posting a message (http://community.livejournal.com/trans_channel/222932.html) to the crew. He wondered how many people would be checking their omnicomms, but he really didn't want to risk anything he said on the comm ring somehow getting intercepted.
He saw now why the comm system John had wanted would be so useful. A few commands, and this Shiva guy's host would be locked out of the system. That meant that he ought to make his way over the Engeneering, or the Obs Deck, or some place where someone could give him something to do.

He did, however, appreciate the challenge.
"Finally! Some excitement!" he gloated, in the middle of his plaza refuge. Then he paused to consider the actual message.
"Hey, wait! He can't destroy the ship!" Zetta lifted his voice, as if Shiva could hear him. (Hey, he's in the City, and very loud.) "Nice try, whoever you are! But this ship is MINE! You wanna fight with the most badass freakin' Overlord in the cosmos? Then bring it on! Hyaaaa ha ha ha ha ha ha!"
One of the minions, acting on an unvoiced command, ran forward to scoop up the tome and take off with it. The rest simply disappeared.
Re: Reactions
She'd only met Kawalsky a few times, and only ever in passing, back when they lived in the Precinct. In her own quarters, she motioned for Boon to join her on her bed and laid down. The likelihood that they'd all get blown to smithereens was much higher if they spent most of the time fighting. As Sherry had very little desire to be awake if they were all killed, she elected to fall asleep.
Re: Reactions
Not on her watch. No way.
"Gotta find the others," Katara said, recalling who exactly WOULD be others: for instance, she had to know if Sokka and the others were all right. Where was Aang? That stabbing worry was starting to form, but more than anything, she was determined NOT to give up, no matter what.
"It's the Fire Nation military all over again," Katara muttered to herself.
Re: Reactions
Still, he was threatening to take over the ship, which was not something that would help her goals, and worse, he mentioned them all being his slaves. That thought alone confirmed the need to defeat him thoroughly, if not outright kill him.
Well, she thought, good time as any to see if that gung-ho human can organize these group of misfits.

Slavery, he knew, wasn't an option. They would never defeat the Ohm that way, and who was to say what would happen as the universe died? He was imagining a truly gruesome fate.
Then we stop you or die trying.
Morphing wasn't an option with a power dampener in effect, with the key part of that thought being the last bit. Devices can be assembled, but they can be dismantled too. Maybe...

Starfire gasped. She had not known this man before his traitorous turn, but she would now commit him to memory. He was making himself responsible for their options: enslavement or death. Neither was acceptable. She had just narrowly escaped becoming a slave at the whims of her sister, and death would mean the end of the universe's hopes. From her perspective, anyway.
She would fight that fate until her last breath.
"You will NOT destroy us today!"
Re: Reactions
He had a bad feeling that this Shiva was possibly someone from his universe too. Had he have seen the eyes flash gold, he definitely would have known.
Ronon couldn't sit still with this threat upon them.

For once, he let his anger show on his face. Dropping his mask would work in his favour.

The Hostage

That sleepy concern faded away as the message continued. She blinked herself awake as it progressed, and was sitting dazedly by the end of it. She wasn't in her bed, or a bunk, or even under a dumpster. She was being manhandled by someone who thought she would be a hostage! Like hell! She hadn't fought through the Vajra for this! She let out an ear-piercing scream, drawing on years of vocal training to hit the shrillest and most painful note she could.
