'Meat' 'n Greet
The rest of the crew assembled on the Observation Deck to meet the latest editions to their numbers. After the revelation that their worlds are gone, many of them are even more eager to see people they knew from home.
Several people are set up near the doors to provide the new people with omnicoms and comm rings. New crew-mates might see a green-skinned alien and snake girl among their number. There are also several authoritative-looking figures ready to introduce themselves.
There's a lot to tell the new people. It's going to be a lot to take in.
[ooc: Only new characters and Command Staff can start new threads for introductions, to limit the number of threads. Everyone else, just tag in and have your guys greet the newbies.]

"Buffy," he says quietly. He rushes forward and hugs her tightly.

There was so much there between Spike and Buffy. Years of enmity, years of antagonism, years of friendship and...more.
Buffy had never loved Spike. Not the way she had Angel. She had tried - god knows she had tried - and she cared for him a great deal. But they both had known that it wasn't love, even if it was something astonishingly close.
None of that mattered right now, though.
She'd heard he was back, but there was so much else going on, with the Slayer lineage, with the Council, with Dawn, that to go and seek him out would have been impossible.
And to find him here of all places...
It's funny how it's always him that makes her feel something real.

He knows she doesn't love him. Not the way he loves her. But that doesn't really matter. She's here, she's alive, and that's enough.
He pulls away from her a little, grinning. "I've missed you so much, love."

"I've missed you too."
That much, at least, is the truth. She has.

"Yeah. Meatship. She's alive. And inedible, I think."

"The best we can hope for is that they're in the pods and that they'll sploosh out at some point." She paused then. "Who's Fred?"

He listened intently to the discussion about their current situation.
"A living, sentient craft? I really wish I had my books and research materials" he said. "This is rather remarkable...I'm certain no one from our reality has ever experienced this."
The uncertainty, the lack of insight he had right now was definitely on his face. He hated being relatively blind and unsure of what was going on.
"No, not that I can recall. My last memories are of riding that schoolbus out of the collapsing city." he said.
"Yes, that's my point of view as well...My vision was a bit blurry until I retrieved my glasses, but I could discern that there were a great many...what do you call them? Pods? There were many of them still in that cavern, or whatever it is. Hopefully they are in there." He hated to think of the alternative, especially with Dawn and Willow. He knew that Angel's death would hurt Buffy, though, and that did make him wish that the vampire was there, somewhere, in the pods, despite their history of tension.
"I believe she was one of Angel's people" he replied when Buffy asked about Fred. "I don't know very much, but I recall Willow speaking of a phone call from her after she made that trip to Los Angeles to assist them."

He glanced at Giles. "Collapsing Sunnydale? That was a while ago for me. I came back a ghost, haunted Wolfram and Hart for a while, got solid, and just stayed in LA. Last I remembered, I was arguing with tall, dark, and completely incapable of admitting he's wrong." He frowned for a second and looked back at Buffy. "Who'd win in a fight between cavemen and astronauts?"
Not that it mattered now, if Angel was gone.

"I'd forgotten that...I do recall Buffy saying you had sacrificed yourself. Remarkable that you were resurrected as it were." said Giles.
"Interesting. It's difficult to wrap my mind around such technology, but it will be extremely helpful."
Something occurred to Giles. "I just hope that there aren't people in there whom we'd regret meeting again." He shivered at finding out that old enemies had been brought here...Drusilla...Glory...the Master...It would be a disaster if they were there.
"For example, if I'm to be trapped aboard this craft with Ethan Rayne, I may lose my sanity." he said. "And of course there are those who would be far worse. I'd hate for Glory or the First to arrive here."

He was at the least buoyed by the confidence he saw. "Yes, we quite likely could. I wonder, though, if this craft is indeed sentient, how it would take battles going on within it." It was still difficult for him to comprehend the idea of a living machine this vast and complex.
