'Meat' 'n Greet

The rest of the crew assembled on the Observation Deck to meet the latest editions to their numbers. After the revelation that their worlds are gone, many of them are even more eager to see people they knew from home.

Several people are set up near the doors to provide the new people with omnicoms and comm rings. New crew-mates might see a green-skinned alien and snake girl among their number. There are also several authoritative-looking figures ready to introduce themselves.

There's a lot to tell the new people. It's going to be a lot to take in.

[ooc: Only new characters and Command Staff can start new threads for introductions, to limit the number of threads. Everyone else, just tag in and have your guys greet the newbies.]

Ves nearly did a double-take at that statement. Did Ben really think numbers mattered?

She tilted her head. "I have absolutely no plans to hide." Hiding was for cowards. Vestara liked to think of herself as simply being extremely private around people and things she intended to appraise better.

"From what I've observed..." A finger tapped her chin in exaggerated thought. "The passengers on this ship not from our galaxy seem to answer to the authority of their respective homes. They probably do not care to listen to your merry band of do-gooders they've never met before. Does this trouble you?" Does it make you as anxious as it makes me to realize that our family names carry little weight here?

The unease she caused him so far (even moreso than Ben's own father) from merely existing was thrilling. She hoped all Jedi were like this.

"No," he said, rolling his eyes, "because we merry do-gooders have a knack for picking up friends in weird places. It comes with the merry and good-doing territory." It seemed like half the ship knew his father, and the other half probably knew Wedge Antilles, since the general was in charge of this ship's Rogue Squadron deployment. Ben knew that his father, at least, was almost certainly just picking up friends by being personable, but serving with Jacen in the Guard had shown Ben that a little personal loyalty could go a long way in times of trouble.

She smiled disgustingly sweetly. "My apologies for the assumption. How lucky for you." While she wouldn't take Ben's words as complete truth, they were likely. They reminded her that until she did anything that could be used against her on this ship, Ves needed to be extra careful.

Thank you, Ben, for letting me know that I need to work overtime.

Sure, Ben was more than a little disoriented. A kidnapping alien ship said the galaxy was destroyed and, judging by the array of Jedi and Alliance officers onboard, had taken the space-time continuum with it. But as crazy as things had gotten, he was sure of one thing: Vestara smiling was Not Good. "Just for the record, you're our prisoner again as soon as we save the multiverse."
