'Meat' 'n Greet

The rest of the crew assembled on the Observation Deck to meet the latest editions to their numbers. After the revelation that their worlds are gone, many of them are even more eager to see people they knew from home.

Several people are set up near the doors to provide the new people with omnicoms and comm rings. New crew-mates might see a green-skinned alien and snake girl among their number. There are also several authoritative-looking figures ready to introduce themselves.

There's a lot to tell the new people. It's going to be a lot to take in.

Kyle wasn't familiar with her particular slag, but it was pretty easy to figure out what shiny meant. "We go back a ways. It's kind of funny really. A whole galaxy, and it ends up being so much smaller than you'd think."

"Kinda like this ship then." Forcing a smile the red head only quickly glanced down to her fingers. "So far I'm the only one from my time in my 'verse. Everyone is from after."

That was hard to deal with in its self. Everyone knew and when talking about the War it was like walking on egg shells. People were afraid to shatter or step on pieces that others wanted remained intact. Looking back up to Kyle, Gwen quirked a brow slightly. "So you've seen those, ah, what did he call 'em.. Mon Calmiri? Mari? And them big ol' ships that look like a triangle?"

Mon Calamari, and yeah I've seen them. Even worked with a few." He had to think for only a second to realize what sort of ship she was talking about. "As for the Star Destroyers I've been entirely too close far too often."

Not to mention on them planting explosive charges.

"Gorram scary that big ol' ship he showed me there. Said a lotta people needed t' run it. Didn't reckon it would be the entire size of the Independent army." It was still scary thinking of a ship that big meant to intimidate all the beings on different worlds. Just wasn't all to natural in her book or in her 'verse. Gwen shivered a little quickly clearing her throat and moving on. "You're one of the lucky folk missed all the goin's on with the nightmares."

"Yeah they are meant to be scary." No matter how you looked at it a standard Star Destroyer had an absurd amount of firepower, and troops. He was more than familiar with how they could use all of that in planetary assaults. Even after all these years he could remember those lessons perfectly. Thankfully he'd been able to use those same lessons to outwit the Empire on more than one occasion. "Nightmares? Nobody told me anything about those."

Green eyes studied the Jedi carefully, she was pretty sure that the newcomers would find out eventually. Something as big as what had happened with the Nightmare King was hard to keep secret. Carefully she crossed her arms across her chest allowing a tired expression to finally slip across her face. It was one whammie after another when it came to the world. Always came in threes.

"Apparently there was something on the ship called the Nightmare King. Made people see their worst nightmares, tricked a lotta people too." Then she hesitated- an actual skip in her words and furrow of her brow that wasn't natural to the officer. "Hurt people too. But- it's all done and over with now."

Kyle simply nodded silently. He could tell when there was no need to pry further. He'd learned something, and that was enough. They'd had battles already and some scars to prove it. Not much point in wishing he'd been here to help. The past was the past, and they had a dangerous future to worry about. At least they'd won this engagement. It was going to be a long war however.

Tucking strands of red hair behind her ear, Gwen glanced up placing a wry little smile across her face. "Hey, what's one more scar to add to the pot hm? Someone's gotta teach these folk a lesson or two every now and then. Keep'em on their toes and such."

Once more Gwen glanced to the throng of people milling about. There were so many people... "Hey I won't keep y' or nothin'. Probably wanna see if'n there are other people 'bout from your 'verse and all. It was nice t' meet you, Katarn... and I promise next time no tackle hugs or nothin'."

He returned the smile. "I know how it goes. Just don't let those scars go unattended to alright? Also please just call me Kyle, and you weren't keeping me. It was good to meet you. We'll go to the sensoriums soon."
