'Meat' 'n Greet

The rest of the crew assembled on the Observation Deck to meet the latest editions to their numbers. After the revelation that their worlds are gone, many of them are even more eager to see people they knew from home.

Several people are set up near the doors to provide the new people with omnicoms and comm rings. New crew-mates might see a green-skinned alien and snake girl among their number. There are also several authoritative-looking figures ready to introduce themselves.

There's a lot to tell the new people. It's going to be a lot to take in.

[ooc: Only new characters and Command Staff can start new threads for introductions, to limit the number of threads. Everyone else, just tag in and have your guys greet the newbies.]

Jubilee raised an eyebrow. She looked at him, hard. Yep. There had been Paige angst wrapped up in that. It figured. Still, she said nothing.

"Weapon X? Yes, because X-Men have such a good track record with them." She rolled her eyes. "I can't imagine Wolvie liked that at all." Jubilee sighed. "Breaking into and living at Emma's was simpler."

Logan was me contact back t' the X-Men. Jono shook his head. Or was gonna be. Hadn' gotten 'at far, yet. Was only jus' gettin' taken outta jail. Assault. He flexed his hand, eyes shining just a little. Okay, he'd enjoyed that too much.

Of course he was. Just... of course he was. She'd groan but it was just the way the X-Men were. Throw themselves into stupidly dangerous situations and save the world - and sometimes their own skins in the bargain.

Then, she realised. Assault? Assault?

She blinked. "You hit Warren!" Jubilee accused him. She punched his arm, lightly. "I like Warren." She grinned. "You totally enjoyed it, didn't you?"

'Ey! Oi! Jono pulled away, batting at her hand. Yeah, I punched Warren, but was only as parta the plan. Needed t' make it obvious 'at I wasn' 'appy with the X-Men an' what was goin' on there. Warren was an easy path.

And yes, he had enjoyed it. Probably far too much.

She laughed. "And you totally objected and raised a fuss about having to do it." Jubilee teased him. She knew Jono all too well. She sighed, and shook her head. "Sometimes, Jono, you are terribly transparent."

He shrugged, sitting back. You didn' 'ave to live with 'em, pet. Part of him still loved Paige. The rest of him acknowledged that they were really, really bad for each other. Didn't mean it was easy. An' I bloody well did raise a fuss afterwards. Fer a bloke what's got a glass jaw, sure did a number on me hand.

Jubilee looked away. "I would've loved to live with them, Jono." She said softly. "Emma's got nice places, but they're really empty." She shrugged.

Then she shoved it away and smiled brightly. "And I could've warned you about Warren. It's the hollow bones he has. Hurt like hell to hit, but he goes down like a tonne of bricks." She grinned.

He did look a bit sheepish at that. Sorry, pet. Fergot. There'd been so much about that time that he just...really wanted to forget. And yet wouldn't because that was doing a disservice to Ange.

He snorted at the rest of it, though. Yeah, well, keep it in mind fer next time.

Jubilee shook her head. "It wasn't you, Jono." She said. "You're not the one that came to my room and told me to get out." She clenched her fists. "And you're not to blame for Logan being... Logan about it, either." She took a deep breath. "The only two to blame are Summers and the Wolverine." Yeah, she was still pissed. Mostly at Wolverine for that.

She slid a look at him. "so, I should plan on you just punching Warren when and if he shows up?" Jubilee teased. "Good to know. I'll get Bobby to ice his jaw for him, afterwards."

Pfft. Bobby's pissed 'cause 'e missed me doin' it in the first place. So it was possible that Bobby's be icing Jono's hand as well.

Jubilee rolled her eyes. "Okay, so, I would've kinda loved to have seen that, just because, hey, I think you deserved to be able to do it, but that doesn't mean I need a repeat performance." She said dryly. "You'll get no sympathy from me if you break your hand." She smirked. "Though I will laugh a lot."

Maybe we'll jus' get lucky an' 'e won' show up. It was easier that way, honestly. Didn' even 'ave anybody what knew me 'round here fer the longest time. Gotta admit, was kin'a nice.

Jubilee pouted. "Jono, are you saying you don't love me any more? I'm hurt." She whined. "After all we've been through?" She sighed. "I knew I should've brought the ferret and the t-rex." She shook her head, sadly.

This time it was his turn to reach out and push her. Just lightly. Ain't like 'at, Jubes. Was kin'a nice not havin' people what expected me t' be a certain way. An' you know how it is, even with the X-Men. They get used t' you actin' one way an' 'spect it fer the rest o' yer life.

Jubilee rolled her eyes at him. "Hi. Remember me? I was still thirteen after..." she stopped. No reason to bring the rest of it up. She shrugged.

Then she slid a look at him. "Does this mean I won't have to PAF you outta dark and broody moods? I mean, I'm totally not above invading your space and kicking your door down - and jumping on your bed - but I'm willing to retire the PAFing if needed." She smirked.

Not so much the dark an' broody moods. Maybe blast me arse outta the media library sometimes. Because Jono may be grown up a bit more, but he's still not the most social member of the crew. More fun if you PAF me roommate, though. Keller could probably use it.

Jubilee snorted. "Only reason to drag you outta there is to go watch movies with me. I think I can handle that." She winked. "A roomie? Gonna warn him about random spaz attacks? Because I'm totally not above bothering both of you." She smirked. "I have no shame."

'S Keller. If 'e don' know 'bout you bein' a spazz, I ain't sure I wanna warn him. Sure, Jono liked Keller well enough, he supposed. But it really didn't stop Keller from being a pain in the arse, too. The shame bit I could've told ya.

Keller? She'd heard that name earlier. "Okay, I totally know he was one of the kids, but which one?" Jubilee asked sheepishly. "I mean, after..." Jubilee looked down at her hands, and rubbed one along her thigh. "Then there was that whole thing in hell with Kurt, and then Scott told me to get out, so I didn't get much time to exactly keep all the kids straight."

He'd definitely mentioned Keller already. California kid. Telekine. Bit full o' 'imself. Was on Frosty's student team at the school.

He looked away a bit, remembering all of that far too well. 'Ard fer me t' keep 'em straight an' they 'ad me teachin'.

California kid. Telekinetic. Jubilee groaned. "Is that the dude I almost punched?" She asked. She vaguely remembered something. "We were in the Danger Room, and there was a comment made..." She huffed out a breath. "Shortly after, I had to go."

Scott had made that clear. "Alright, I think I remember him." Jubilee shrugged. "So, wanna show me around? I'm totally gonna need scarfage soon. I had been planning to go out and eat before clubbing." She grinned. "Think my plans got changed."

Probably. Ain't like Keller don' inspire people t' wanna punch him. And this was after Jono was as close to 'friends' with Keller as he usually got with people outside GenX.

He tilted his head and stood. Can do 'at. Though gotta warn you, we ain't really got the supplies t' have real food on the ship mos' of the time. 'Parently got it a few days a week, but mos'ly got this stuff what's the consistency of runny library paste. An' tastes 'bout as good, too, from what I hear. One of the few reasons Jono had for being glad he didn't have to eat anymore.

"You're killing me here, Jono." Jubilee whined. "No snackage? Dude, I'm going to waste away to nothing, and it's hard keeping this girlish figure."

She sighed. "No McBurgers, no Twinkies? I'm going to fade away and go into withdrawal."

Jono shrugged. Reckon McDonalds an' Twinkies went up with the universe, pet. Might manage t' find some when we go planet side, but can't guarantee it. And food had never been his favorite topic to begin with. You ain't gonna starve. Hear tell the sensoriums can at least make you think yer eatin' somethin' better 'an the slop.

She sighed, and rested her head on his shoulder. She figured he'd shove her off. "Might have to try it." She frowned. "Okay, so does this mean I'm stuck in this weirdo suit thing? Because I'll sew my own clothes if I have to." She nudged him. "C'mon, explain everything to me, oh wise Jono." She grinned.
