'Meat' 'n Greet

The rest of the crew assembled on the Observation Deck to meet the latest editions to their numbers. After the revelation that their worlds are gone, many of them are even more eager to see people they knew from home.

Several people are set up near the doors to provide the new people with omnicoms and comm rings. New crew-mates might see a green-skinned alien and snake girl among their number. There are also several authoritative-looking figures ready to introduce themselves.

There's a lot to tell the new people. It's going to be a lot to take in.

[ooc: Only new characters and Command Staff can start new threads for introductions, to limit the number of threads. Everyone else, just tag in and have your guys greet the newbies.]

"Fancy."

He took the hand without hesitation, shaking it confidently. "People call me the Guv. Former leader of the general population of Crematoria."

"Well, Mister Guv, we're pleased to have you aboard. Your leadership experience might come in handy. Wish I could say I had a better idea of where we're going to end up, but... well, I think we're all a little out of our depth here," Kirk chuckled.

This kept happening. It was a little ridiculous, to be honest.

"Just the Guv. Or Guv." Though it amused him that someone who he suspected to be secretly wholesome was accepting his help so readily. Obviously he hadn't heard of the triple max slam.

"I'm not worried about it, honestly. Life's taken me worse places before." Like Crematoria. "Got out of those in one piece. If not entirely working."

"I suppose that's all that can be hoped for." Kirk was generally willing to trust people, especially on the ship - they all had to work together or they were all going to end up dead in any case. If that wasn't a strong enough incentive, than he didn't know what would be enough.

"We'll do our best to get all of you settled in, Guv."

That still felt odd.

The Guv allowed himself a small, smirking grin. "Give me some tools, some practice, I'll be able to keep up in a fight just fine. And that's all the settling I really need."

Probably he could manage without that practice he'd mentioned, but it couldn't hurt and it wouldn't do to give away all his cards.

"If you want to practice... I'd recommend the Sensoriums. As realistic training as you'll ever ask for and you won't get hurt doing it either."

And if he did, they had an excellent medical staff.

"Sensoriums, huh?" Well, he wasn't going to tell this Kirk fellow that his definition of realistic was actual life-or-death. "Must be some pretty fancy rooms." Or a really tough bar.

"They create... realistic simulations. So real you can't tell them from the real thing. It's quite impressive."

Kirk settled his hands on his hips. Some things had to be seen to be believed.

"Sounds like a waste of power to me. Still, guess it can't hurt to check out." They probably frowned on actually wielding weapons at each other here. Maybe that was a nice change.

"I think Stacy has enough power to provide for it - if she didn't, I doubt they'd be active," Kirk chuckled.

"Sure. Wasn't really the point, though." Okay, so maybe working with these people after so long was going to be work.
