'Meat' 'n Greet

The rest of the crew assembled on the Observation Deck to meet the latest editions to their numbers. After the revelation that their worlds are gone, many of them are even more eager to see people they knew from home.

Several people are set up near the doors to provide the new people with omnicoms and comm rings. New crew-mates might see a green-skinned alien and snake girl among their number. There are also several authoritative-looking figures ready to introduce themselves.

There's a lot to tell the new people. It's going to be a lot to take in.

[ooc: Only new characters and Command Staff can start new threads for introductions, to limit the number of threads. Everyone else, just tag in and have your guys greet the newbies.]

Sly Knife's head whipped around as he pinpointed the source of the voice. A Ooman was addressing him. Well, no one had ever said the cloaks were perfect. He dropped the cloaking field, going visible in a cascade of sparking energy as he eyed the Ooman. He didn't respond just yet, though. This one didn't look like a threat - no weapons and if his helmet was correct, blind. He stalked forward, clicking curiously underneath his mask as he watched and waited.

"What? Something on my face?" He rubbed one of his bandaged hands over his mouth to make sure it was clear. he'd been drinking before the 'meet' call, so the chances of errant pretzel bits and/or booze being stuck to his stubble wasn't really far fetched.

"Ah, doesn't matter. Not like I can see it, after all. Name's Will. Will Barlow. 'Course, most everyone calls me Blin... Take yer pick, really. Just don't call me Blindy McGee. That gets old fast." Stupid Wolfwood and his 'blind man's bluff' jokes...

Sly Knife hissed softly. This man wasn't prey - he was blind. There was no sport in that. He shouldn't waste his time. Still... if what this ship said was true, the Ohm were even bigger game. More challenging. And he wasn't supposed to hunt these Oomans. Bah. He growled a brusque reply, "I do not care what your name is, Ooman."

"Ye should. There's power in names, my hissing friend. Names, labels, justifications, they all flow together, ye see. Take hunting, for example. I've had to hunt down a few people in my time, and let me tell ye, once you know who they are, it becomes much harder to dispose of them. Flipside, knowing how they operate does make 'em easier to track." He shrugged. "It's a decent trade off."
