'Meat' 'n Greet

The rest of the crew assembled on the Observation Deck to meet the latest editions to their numbers. After the revelation that their worlds are gone, many of them are even more eager to see people they knew from home.

Several people are set up near the doors to provide the new people with omnicoms and comm rings. New crew-mates might see a green-skinned alien and snake girl among their number. There are also several authoritative-looking figures ready to introduce themselves.

There's a lot to tell the new people. It's going to be a lot to take in.

[ooc: Only new characters and Command Staff can start new threads for introductions, to limit the number of threads. Everyone else, just tag in and have your guys greet the newbies.]

Ben saw the wince and he nodded. "I'll keep that in mind."

"Well I suppose it's a fresh start. Stacy's got a lot of things here, and I'm sure you could find a place to stay. There's also a bunch of groups and teams here as well, given that you just need a place to crash for the day or what not."

Tenaya paused at that. Sure, she'd helped the Rangers bring down Venjix, but that was because Dillon needed her help. She hadn't really been part of the team, even if Summer and Dillon went out of their way to make sure she felt welcome. And she couldn't say she was on much of a team under Venjix either.

"I'll have to see," she answered. "I've never really been on a team before."

"Yeah, it's not for everyone. I'm part of the Outsiders, a super team. But I help out in the Media Library where I am most of the day." Watching television and straightening out media chips and other such items.

Tenaya gave him a smirk. "Outsiders?" That was as bad as "Power Rangers." Did hero teams just grab random words from the dictionary and slap it on as their label?

[identity profile] bears-omnitrix.livejournal.com 2010-04-04 12:57 am (UTC)(link)
"Tell me about it. It's about as bad as The Plumbers. Who names a intergalactic police force after a group of pipe fixers anyhow?" added Ben, putting his two cents into the silly names.

[identity profile] neverwastenaya.livejournal.com 2010-04-04 01:37 am (UTC)(link)
Tenaya rolled her eyes. Congratulations, Ben. That was officially the worst hero team name in two universes.

"At least the Power Rangers had the excuse of a government codename. Did they just give up on creativity? I could come up with a million better names than 'Plumber'!"

[identity profile] bears-omnitrix.livejournal.com 2010-04-04 01:50 am (UTC)(link)
"Yeah, the Plumbers, I have no idea who named them, but apparently its a codename for Fixers." Ben shrugged. "I really don't know who even thought of that."

[identity profile] neverwastenaya.livejournal.com 2010-04-04 02:13 am (UTC)(link)
"Probably someone who didn't understand the language," she answered. It couldn't have been someone immature; otherwise the name, however stupid, would at least have been creative. She could already imagine what Ziggy, Gem, and Gemma would have come up with.

"Yeah it seems like it was probably lost in translation," snickered Ben. "There's probably some kind of intergalactic meaning from it though."

[identity profile] neverwastenaya.livejournal.com 2010-04-05 08:28 pm (UTC)(link)
"I hope so," Tenaya admitted. "Otherwise, you've got some seriously weird people out there."

[identity profile] bears-omnitrix.livejournal.com 2010-04-05 10:36 pm (UTC)(link)
"Weird is relative for the most part," replied Ben with a grin. "At least here we've got a way to cope with it. I should show you the sensoriums later."

[identity profile] neverwastenaya.livejournal.com 2010-04-05 11:32 pm (UTC)(link)
Tenaya had a dangerous smirk.

"We've just met and already you're making a move? I'm flattered."

[identity profile] bears-omnitrix.livejournal.com 2010-04-05 11:39 pm (UTC)(link)
If Ben was drinking anything, he'd have spit-taked by now. "H-hey, I'm just...!"

He ducked his head, embarrassed. "Okay you got me. I'm just making small talk."

[identity profile] neverwastenaya.livejournal.com 2010-04-06 12:55 am (UTC)(link)
Tenaya's expression only got more smug. She was going to have to learn this kid's other buttons. He was fun to embarrass.

"Try and keep it at just that," she teased. "I'm probably older than you anyway."

[identity profile] bears-omnitrix.livejournal.com 2010-04-06 04:04 am (UTC)(link)
"I'm not touching the older thing at any rate. Bad for my sanity and health," remarked Ben, fully knowing how sensitive women could be around that.

[identity profile] neverwastenaya.livejournal.com 2010-04-07 04:14 am (UTC)(link)
"Always a good plan," Tenaya answered.

[identity profile] bears-omnitrix.livejournal.com 2010-04-07 04:38 am (UTC)(link)
Ben nodded, wisely keeping quiet on that subject. "So I guess on that note, welcome to Stacy. Again. It's weird here but you'll get used to that real quick."

[identity profile] neverwastenaya.livejournal.com 2010-04-07 04:43 am (UTC)(link)
"Weird is a girl who keeps a laser in the fridge and uses a violin to control the security systems," Tenaya insisted. "I think this I can survive."

[identity profile] bears-omnitrix.livejournal.com 2010-04-07 04:52 am (UTC)(link)
"A violin? Really?" inquired Ben. "That must be pretty wild."

[identity profile] neverwastenaya.livejournal.com 2010-04-07 04:55 am (UTC)(link)
Tenaya glared. "Don't. Ask."

[identity profile] bears-omnitrix.livejournal.com 2010-04-07 03:42 pm (UTC)(link)
"Right. This is me, not asking." replied Ben quickly.
