'Meat' 'n Greet

The rest of the crew assembled on the Observation Deck to meet the latest editions to their numbers. After the revelation that their worlds are gone, many of them are even more eager to see people they knew from home.

Several people are set up near the doors to provide the new people with omnicoms and comm rings. New crew-mates might see a green-skinned alien and snake girl among their number. There are also several authoritative-looking figures ready to introduce themselves.

There's a lot to tell the new people. It's going to be a lot to take in.

"The latest thing to happen was the release of a being called the Nightmare King," The horrors of her nightmares and everything else that had happened were still too fresh in Fate's mind, so she skipped over most of the details. "As the name might imply, it was able to bring out our worst fears. We were able to defeat him, though."

Fate shook her head a little, trying to rid herself of the memories that were trying to resurface. "And before that it was... well. Arriving here. Finding out our homes have been destroyed by a threat even the TSAB was unable to detect..."

She was sorry she hadn't been there to help with the Nightmare King, but there was nothing to be done now. She simply puts a hand on Fate's shoulder in a comforting gesture.

"We'll figure something out. It's what we do."

"... Yeah, I know." Fate said, the smile returning to her face.

"Thanks, Signum."

"So," she said with a grin. "Besides...all of that, what else have you been up to here?"

"Not much, really." Fate said with a laugh. "I help out with the Magical Department, but when I'm not busy with that, I train with Nanoha or just try to relax."

"Yeah, well..." Sob, Training Mode Nanoha. If Fate hadn't known her for as long as she did, she'd probably be terrified of her.

"She was the only one on the ship who knows our type of magic that I'd feel comfortable training with. I guess I did't really have a choice."

"I suppose you wouldn't feel comfortable sparring with a child like Vivio or a relative stranger like this Kala I've been hearing about, knowing you."

She laughed slightly.

"We'll have to train together some time, then."
