'Meat' 'n Greet

The rest of the crew assembled on the Observation Deck to meet the latest editions to their numbers. After the revelation that their worlds are gone, many of them are even more eager to see people they knew from home.

Several people are set up near the doors to provide the new people with omnicoms and comm rings. New crew-mates might see a green-skinned alien and snake girl among their number. There are also several authoritative-looking figures ready to introduce themselves.

There's a lot to tell the new people. It's going to be a lot to take in.

[ooc: Only new characters and Command Staff can start new threads for introductions, to limit the number of threads. Everyone else, just tag in and have your guys greet the newbies.]

Signum bit down on the quiet rage simmering beneath the surface, the only visible indication of it the slight furrowing of her brow. There was nothing she could do about the past now, and if this many people from their world were here, it was likely Hayate and the others were here as well.

"Is there a plan, yet?"
starlightace: (I see...)

[personal profile] starlightace 2010-04-02 06:19 am (UTC)(link)
"Sort of," Nanoha responded, though she knew it sounded lame. "We're still learning about our situation - we only learned about what the Ohm had done a few months ago, because someone had put blocks on Stacy before we woke up."

"But we're getting organized bit by bit. So there's progress."

And then, noting the furrowed brow, she shook her head. "Don't worry, though. We were told that the people close to us were taken, too - so Hayate-chan and Vita-chan and everyone else are probably still asleep in the pods. They'll wake up soon enough."

[identity profile] an-old-knight.livejournal.com 2010-04-02 06:27 am (UTC)(link)
"Understood," she says simply, putting up the soldier's facade to conceal the anger still brewing. She would have to calm herself down later, somehow.

"So then I take it this crew is meant to be an army. How are they on the organizational front?"
starlightace: (I guess I deserved that)

[personal profile] starlightace 2010-04-02 06:40 am (UTC)(link)
"Not so great," admitted the girl, looking sheepish. "We've got some departments set up to deal with certain things already - I'm the head of the Magical Department, don't ask me how that one happened - but a lot of people aren't from military backgrounds, so they have problems following orders. I think we're going to be setting up a civilian government soon enough, though."

[identity profile] an-old-knight.livejournal.com 2010-04-02 06:57 am (UTC)(link)
Signum sighed. One would think fighting the things that destroyed their worlds would bring them all together at least somewhat.

"I'll help you out with your department, if you need me. I'll also look to see what the others have as well."

"Of course you will! I was kinda counting on that, you know. You've always been pretty good at whipping people into shape." A smile, despite the severity of their situation. "You should talk to Leon, too. He's the head of Security here."

[identity profile] an-old-knight.livejournal.com 2010-04-03 01:09 am (UTC)(link)
She chuckles.

"Only as long as you don't try to have me train raw recruits."

That was...certainly not her thing.
starlightace: (Just who do you think I am?)

[personal profile] starlightace 2010-04-03 02:01 am (UTC)(link)
Nanoha waved her away with a hand. "No, no, I wouldn't make you do that! You'd scare them all off!"

"Well," she said with a grin. "At least we're agreed on that point."

Though whether or not she'd be scaring them away by accident or on purpose shall remain a mystery.
starlightace: (Le sigh...)

[personal profile] starlightace 2010-04-03 04:10 am (UTC)(link)
The mage gave a little sigh. "Well, it might kinda be a moot point. I think the only other person here who uses TSAB-recognized magic is Kala-chan, and she's already been trained a bit. Everyone else uses their own styles - if they use magic at all."

And yes, Signum, she WAS wondering about that.

[identity profile] an-old-knight.livejournal.com 2010-04-03 05:10 pm (UTC)(link)
The world may never know.

"Well, look at the bright side," she said. "At least they have a variety of skills to work with."

After all, the majority of the Mobile Section Six mages specialized in...well...blowing crap up. Might be useful to have a couple other specialties as well.

"Mm, that's true," Nanoha nodded. "It just makes it a bit trickier to come up with training ideas. But I'm sure we'll be able to think of something."

[identity profile] an-old-knight.livejournal.com 2010-04-03 11:49 pm (UTC)(link)
"Between you and Testarossa, I'm sure you'll figure it out."

Just so long as she didn't have to help organize that nightmare. She was happy just being a front-line fighter.
starlightace: (Just who do you think I am?)

[personal profile] starlightace 2010-04-04 02:54 am (UTC)(link)
"Right, right." Nanoha paused for a moment before she brightened up. "Say, you should join me for training sometime! Fate-chan's a good sparring partner and all, but she can't quite stop herself from holding back."

And given the outcome of the last time Signum and Nanoha sparred, that really wouldn't be a danger.

[identity profile] an-old-knight.livejournal.com 2010-04-04 03:05 am (UTC)(link)
"Of course. So long as you think the training grounds here can hold up to that kind of punishment."

...They both did have a tendency to get carried away.
starlightace: (n_n)

[personal profile] starlightace 2010-04-04 04:33 am (UTC)(link)
"Only one way to find out!"

"Or," she amended, "We could try to take it aerial-only and have it in the City where there's more free space... we'd have to be really careful about collateral damage, though."

[identity profile] an-old-knight.livejournal.com 2010-04-04 04:47 am (UTC)(link)
"I'll let you decide."

She was feeling somewhat generous.

Besides, she knows she could kick her ass no matter where they fight.
starlightace: (Oh you silly bitch!)

[personal profile] starlightace 2010-04-04 05:19 am (UTC)(link)
"Well, that depends. Do you think you can tone it down enough to not level the City?" Nanoha grinned.

It was a draw last time, bitch.

[identity profile] an-old-knight.livejournal.com 2010-04-04 05:23 am (UTC)(link)
"Now what would be the fun in that?" she teased.

Psshyeah right. Who was the one who was dazed the fuck out of her mind while Signum was just scuffed up afterwords?
starlightace: (I guess I deserved that)

[personal profile] starlightace 2010-04-04 05:44 am (UTC)(link)
"Well, it'd be a lot more fun for the people who live and work there and who are kinda trying not to get blown up," she answered with a sheepish expression.

It was still a draw. They were both standing.

[identity profile] an-old-knight.livejournal.com 2010-04-04 05:48 am (UTC)(link)
"Training ground it is, then."

Just a technical ruling. Signum totally won that.
starlightace: (*Aerial)

[personal profile] starlightace 2010-04-04 05:57 am (UTC)(link)
"Mm, that'll be fun," Nanoha smiled. "It's been a while since I've been to go all-out in a spar."

[identity profile] an-old-knight.livejournal.com 2010-04-04 06:09 am (UTC)(link)
"I'll be sure not to disappoint, then."
