'Meat' 'n Greet

The rest of the crew assembled on the Observation Deck to meet the latest editions to their numbers. After the revelation that their worlds are gone, many of them are even more eager to see people they knew from home.

Several people are set up near the doors to provide the new people with omnicoms and comm rings. New crew-mates might see a green-skinned alien and snake girl among their number. There are also several authoritative-looking figures ready to introduce themselves.

There's a lot to tell the new people. It's going to be a lot to take in.

[ooc: Only new characters and Command Staff can start new threads for introductions, to limit the number of threads. Everyone else, just tag in and have your guys greet the newbies.]

"I'm sure that would make Wedge very happy. So what have you, and Wedge been up to in way of preparations?" Since they were in the middle of war Kyle doubted that Wedge had just sat around.

Tycho nodded at the change in topic. It would be good to get Kyle fully caught up on what was going on. "There're actually 2 dozen X-Wings in the hangar bay here, and Wedge has been working on re-forming Rogue Squadron, with recruits. It's rough going- many of them have never flown before, and most of them are civilians-" Tycho shared a look with Kyle at the idea of civilians. "But from the one's I've met so far, they're all enthusiastic, and eager to learn ... of course, we do have a couple ego problems to sort out-" or one. Named Asuka. "but what kind of fighter squadron would we be with out ego problems, huh?"

Kyle knew exactly how Tycho felt about civilians. "Glad to hear that. If either of you ever needs my help let me know. Especially with those ego problems."

Tycho made a rueful face, "Wedge has already got Arha and Jaina working on Asuka. You'll meet Arha, she's ... quite something." Tycho shook his head. "And Jaina ..." he made a face. "Has anyone told you yet that when Stacy pulled people from their home galaxies, she took them from different times as well? Jaina's actually 20 years old, and she's a pilot in her own right."

Tycho nodded at Kyle's offer though. "Thanks Kyle. We might actually need your help. Wedge wants to make the Rogues into more of a fighter slash commando squadron, like the Wraiths are, so he wants to teach everyone hand to hand combat, demolitions, things like that. If you'd like to help out in the training, we sure could use your expertise ..."

"Yeah I figured out that time thing after I ran into Luke's son back in that place with the pods. Not surprised to hear Jaina is a pilot though. She always did take after her dad."

The thought of training of making himself useful brought a small smile to Kyle's face. "I'd be more than happy to train everyone. Maybe you could help me polish up my flying skills. I'm not my first choice, but if you need pilots I can give it my best."
