'Meat' 'n Greet

The rest of the crew assembled on the Observation Deck to meet the latest editions to their numbers. After the revelation that their worlds are gone, many of them are even more eager to see people they knew from home.

Several people are set up near the doors to provide the new people with omnicoms and comm rings. New crew-mates might see a green-skinned alien and snake girl among their number. There are also several authoritative-looking figures ready to introduce themselves.

There's a lot to tell the new people. It's going to be a lot to take in.

[ooc: Only new characters and Command Staff can start new threads for introductions, to limit the number of threads. Everyone else, just tag in and have your guys greet the newbies.]

Apollo knows what he means pretty much instantly, and laughs. "No clue." He shrugs. "I was built that way, I never bothered to question the biology of it."

He sticks out a hand for Tom. "I'm Apollo. Pleased to meet you."

He slowly unwrapped his fingers from the backpack, returning the handshake. There was a trick to walking the line between blind terror and wariness of a new situation, and he had to walk it cautiously. "Tom, I'd say it's nice to meet you, but I just woke up covered in alien snot...so please don't take offense if I say I'd rather have avoided the meeting."

<A flying man...> Greed lingered in the corner of his mind, but not a touch of it brushed across his face.

"Built like that?" He echoed, keeping the dumb, puzzled look on his face. Looking far more confused and befuddled than he currently felt.

Oh boy, this was a slow one. Then again, he could probably be excused, alien goo was, indeed, not something to wake up in. Especially considering what probably floated around in there.

He gestures a little at himself and shrugs. "Biotechnology at its finest. I was built to be a hero." Apollo laughs suddenly and flexes one of his biceps. "I'd worry about anyone who spent enough time in the gym to come up with something like this."

Biotechnology?

<I want one.>

"Wow...They can't even make robots where I'm from...that's pretty amazing." He kept the childlike awe of humans discovering something new in his voice, none of the covetousness greed in his voice.

The host was still and silent within him, aware what would happen to him if the Yeerk host jumped here.

<Tick Tock, human, Tick. Tock.>

There was a moment of complete silence from the host, thoughts so quiet they were almost out of reach, he'd have to shift focus from the creature in front of him to pin them down <I haven't heard anything about a Kandrona yet, Yeerk. Tick Tock>

He snorts. "Trust me, the governments knew how. They were just hiding the proper technology from the citizens." Apollo is well aware of how deep state secrets can go.

After all, in a way, he is one.

"Anyway, trust me. Things get better from here." He pauses a beat. "Except the food. I hear that the food is utter crap. But they generally pump enough nutrients for everyone to live off of in it, so I guess no one can complain too much." He shrugs, then beams again. "If you've got any questions, I'd be pleased to answer them."

<Do you have ears? Would you be willing to hold still for a few moments?>

"Thanks, I really appreciate it. First...I think I'm going to see if my family is here, my little brother might be here and my parents and...well, yeah, I'd rather not risk them leaving before I find them, you know? But I might take you up on it latter, sir."

Polite, always polite, humans really were the most gullible.

He nods, holding up his hands. "Don't worry, I understand completely. I'm still waiting to see if my family ever shows up." Apollo floats up a bit, over the crowd once more.

"If you need me, just call me up on the omnicomm network. I keep a good eye on it."

"Thanks...uh. Fly safe?"

<A flying man! Really!>

"Apollo, right? If I need anything I'll give you a call then, thanks for your help."
