'Meat' 'n Greet

The rest of the crew assembled on the Observation Deck to meet the latest editions to their numbers. After the revelation that their worlds are gone, many of them are even more eager to see people they knew from home.

Several people are set up near the doors to provide the new people with omnicoms and comm rings. New crew-mates might see a green-skinned alien and snake girl among their number. There are also several authoritative-looking figures ready to introduce themselves.

There's a lot to tell the new people. It's going to be a lot to take in.

[ooc: Only new characters and Command Staff can start new threads for introductions, to limit the number of threads. Everyone else, just tag in and have your guys greet the newbies.]

The half elf wasn't too sure about the clothing, but finding the sword Flint had made for him and his bow did make him feel better. The sword was at his hip, the bow in his hand.

He still was trying to figure out exactly what had happened, and stayed back a little, so far nothing seemed too threatening, but his mind was still trying to take everything in.

He'd have to deal with figuring things out later, he was being told he had to meet others.

Tanis stepped into the room he was still marveling the architecture not really paying attention to where he was walking.

"Sorry," Again with the Qualinosti, "I mean I'm sorry." He repeated in common.

...that sounded like elven. Kang had gotten used to understanding some of the other people on the ship while still being able to tell that they were speaking in a different language. He'd heard elven before, many times, and the only words he'd ever picked up were 'kill', 'draconian', 'monster'. Things of that nature.

This might be interesting.

Being careful to keep his hands away from his weapons, he approached the half-elf (who seemed familiar for some reason), "Krynn?"

[identity profile] notmannotelf.livejournal.com 2010-04-02 02:18 am (UTC)(link)
"Yes, what are you?" He did step back from Kang, only because 'Hello, something that can't possibly exist existing!' Part of him wanted to run, but the creature hadn't been threatening.

Yeah neither are orcs... He shoved the thought out of his head. This wasn't exactly the adventure he was planning, but it wasn't like he could go back to his plans. "I'm from Solace, you?" He'd try to be polite for now.

Kang froze, staring at the half-elf. The rest of what had been said hadn't even registered. "...you don't recognize what I am?"

[identity profile] notmannotelf.livejournal.com 2010-04-02 02:26 am (UTC)(link)
"I've never seen your kind before." He was getting a little unnerved at the way the creature looked at him, as if he was known.

Only in Qualinost, Solace and Haven, I'd remember seeing something like him before though. He remembered what dragons were supposed to look like, the creature did have some features in common with them, but they were hunted out of existence right? He hadn't seen or heard of a sighting in all his nearly 100 years.

"I am a draconian," Kang's scales clicked. Had this guy lived under a rock his entire life? "War of the Lance, Takhisis, corrupted dragon eggs?"

And why did this half-elf look and smell familiar? Something about a swamp...

[identity profile] notmannotelf.livejournal.com 2010-04-02 02:42 am (UTC)(link)
"War of the Lance? The last War was ages ago, and what does a dead god have to do with anything?" He fought stepping back. "The gods are rumored to be around but they have done nothing in so long." Aw, poor Tanis, he hasn't even met Goldmoon yet sorry Kang.

Wait. Wait.

"What year is it for you?" Kang asked, getting a bad feeling.

[identity profile] notmannotelf.livejournal.com 2010-04-02 02:49 am (UTC)(link)
"346 AC. Why?" Curious Half-elf is curious now.
governorkang: (Idiots / Facepalm)

[personal profile] governorkang 2010-04-02 02:52 am (UTC)(link)
"...it's 387 AC for me," Kang's wings rustled. No wonder the half-elf didn't recognize what he was; in 346 AC, most of Krynn didn't even know of his kind's existence.

Forty one years in my future? He looked stunned a moment. "Then you probably wouldn't know the others, most of my friends were Human, they would have died of old age."

He has a feeling he really doesn't want to know what happen to them. "I'm Tanis."
governorkang: (o rly bozak)

[personal profile] governorkang 2010-04-02 03:07 am (UTC)(link)
"Tanis. Tanis Half-Elven? Friend to Sturm Brightblade?" That wasn't a common name. "I am Kang."

[identity profile] notmannotelf.livejournal.com 2010-04-02 03:18 am (UTC)(link)
Tanis flinched a little at that. "Yeah such a good friend to him that he jumped at the chance of traveling home with Kit." Yeah, still stung a little, not that he and Kit were loyal only to each other after all. "Last I remember was the two saying they were heading north to visit their Father's homelands."

"Kang..." He said it putting it to memory, he didn't think that it would be that hard to remember the beast's name.

[personal profile] governorkang 2010-04-02 03:22 am (UTC)(link)
Kang pressed further, "Kit as in... Kitiara?"

No way. He couldn't be that Tanis.

[identity profile] notmannotelf.livejournal.com 2010-04-02 03:30 am (UTC)(link)
Oh there's a worried look. Though it's unlikely she'd be alive, mercenaries didn't have long life spans... But what are the chances of this creature knowing her? She may have made a name for herself...

"We were close at one point. While she was away as a mercenary I helped Flint make sure her brothers didn't get into too much trouble." But with a friend like Tas, trouble followed all of them, mostly harmless. "How do you know of her and Sturm?"
governorkang: (Well shit / Disgusting)

Lady of the Abyss. It was Tanis Half-Elven, the Hero of the Lance. Or, well, he would have been, if it weren't for the Ohm. Kang knew he'd seen Tanis before, too, and it was bugging him.

"That's... a long story, that has to do with the War you all got involved in, around five or so years in your future," he chose his words carefully. "My kind were created for that war, which is why you don't know of us."

Shadow Link shot the other a glare, but...

Okay, the place was disorientating. He just hadn't been in a good mood lately. Like something had vanished that he was disappointed that it did. He just couldn't remember what.

"Whatever/ Better to watch the people. They're the ones who'll always look different. The ship is pretty much creepy everywhere," Shadow Link said.

[identity profile] notmannotelf.livejournal.com 2010-04-03 08:21 am (UTC)(link)
Pointed ears? There were other elves, probably full blooded on the ship? The ears was about where the look stopped though.

"I've gathered that much just coming from the pod room." He'd ask later, because the man seemed grumpier than Flint with a hangover.

[identity profile] actuallyahero.livejournal.com 2010-04-03 08:25 am (UTC)(link)
"Then watch where you're going," Shadow Link said, looking the other up and down. Well, since the guy ran into him, better to get a better look at him.

[identity profile] notmannotelf.livejournal.com 2010-04-03 08:29 am (UTC)(link)
"And I apologized for it. I didn't mean any ill will." Tanis sighed. "It's just only time I've seen architecture like this was in Dwarven cities. It's much more alien, but has the same feel." Yeah, cold, and artificial, but it would be home, he'd have to get used to it.

[identity profile] actuallyahero.livejournal.com 2010-04-03 08:37 am (UTC)(link)
Shadow Link looked around. "...never been to a dwarf city. Didn't know they had a city," he said. Then again, there weren't many dwarves in Hyrule. He'd only just heard of them himself, never met them.

[identity profile] notmannotelf.livejournal.com 2010-04-03 08:45 am (UTC)(link)
"Where I'm from seems you see more dwarves than elves. Most elves won't leave their cities."

[identity profile] actuallyahero.livejournal.com 2010-04-03 08:47 am (UTC)(link)
Shadow Link blinked. "...elf? What's an elf?"

[identity profile] notmannotelf.livejournal.com 2010-04-03 08:51 am (UTC)(link)
Well if he isn't one that's fine.

"They're like man only closer to nature. And usually have more pointed ears than I."

Though it seemed strange to him that he knew of dwarves but not elves. Where in the world was the guy from?

[identity profile] actuallyahero.livejournal.com 2010-04-03 08:53 am (UTC)(link)
"Like man? You mean human? Why do pointed ears just make them closer to nature?" Shadow Link asked, looking just a bit less grumpy and more curious.
