The rest of the crew assembled on the Observation Deck to meet the latest editions to their numbers. After the revelation that their worlds are gone, many of them are even more eager to see people they knew from home.
Several people are set up near the doors to provide the new people with omnicoms and comm rings. New crew-mates might see a green-skinned alien and snake girl among their number. There are also several authoritative-looking figures ready to introduce themselves.
There's a lot to tell the new people. It's going to be a lot to take in.
[ooc: Only new characters and Command Staff can start new threads for introductions, to limit the number of threads. Everyone else, just tag in and have your guys greet the newbies.]

He crossed his arms and closed his eyes for a second. "You think you can't face everyone because of your failure. You're wrong. I know it. Your comrades...your friends will still want to be with you. Live. Live to see them. Live to correct the error. Just...live to see another day."

"It's still all gone though. Nothing will change that." The young mage sighed tiredly as he wrapped the too-small cloak around himself, his eyes distant. "My father, my students, all of them out of reach."

Negi nodded, taking a shuddering breath before looking up at Tsukasa. "Sorry... for being so depressed. I'm Negi Springfield. This is Chamo-kun."
"Yo," said the Ermine.

Do you have to take more pictures? Didn't the incident with Spock teach you anything, Tsukasa?

"A pleasure to meet you Tsukasa-san," said Negi, bowing politely since he was well accustomed to the Japanese culture. "Is your hobby taking photographs?"

But to Negi, after he recovered, he said, "No, it's not a hobby. I am a photographer."

Negi on the other hand smiled. "That's good, I have a student of mine who does the whole photography thing. I hope she's alright."
He sighed. "Sorry, I can't stop thinking about things at times. But um, so how is it here?"

He glared at the ferret when he noticed the thinking expression on its face, though.

Chamo only grinned cheekily at Tsukasa with a knowing grin.

Tsukasa really wants to hit the ferret. He's acting as smug as he is, and no one is as smug as Tsukasa!

A chill went up his spine even as Chamo winked at Tsukasa and began to whistle an off-beat tune.

"Of course I don't mean any harm Aniki, I'm just an innocent ermine," replied the animal.

And then he grinned, a twinkle of lecherous intent in his eyes. "You're darn right I would! AND steal some panties while I'm at it!"
Negi hung his head and sighed.

"I consider it to be fancy free," replied Chamo defensively.

"Yes." Tsukasa replied. "So, let me ask you something. Why can your little pet talk, anyway? Where I come from, ferrets don't talk, much less smoke."

"It's cause I'm magic," replied Chamo, answering for Negi. "I'm a fairy ermine which gives me the ability to talk. All of my people can speak."

"Actually the punishment for breaking the statute of secrecy is Ermineification but um, I guess it doesn't apply here." explained Negi.
"And no, I'm an actual fairy ermine, not a human transformed into one." added Chamo in a huff.
