'Meat' 'n Greet

The rest of the crew assembled on the Observation Deck to meet the latest editions to their numbers. After the revelation that their worlds are gone, many of them are even more eager to see people they knew from home.

Several people are set up near the doors to provide the new people with omnicoms and comm rings. New crew-mates might see a green-skinned alien and snake girl among their number. There are also several authoritative-looking figures ready to introduce themselves.

There's a lot to tell the new people. It's going to be a lot to take in.

[ooc: Only new characters and Command Staff can start new threads for introductions, to limit the number of threads. Everyone else, just tag in and have your guys greet the newbies.]

The words rang in Negi's head clear as day. That voice of hers.

Slowly, a little shakily, the young man looked up. "Y-Yue-san..." his voice cracked.

Getting to his knees, he swallowed. "I... I..."

And then without warning, he flung his arms around her and started to cry, choking out "I'm sorry, I'm sorry," over and over.

"Sensei..." It took Yue a few moments to gather herself, the initial blush threatening to knock her out again. She had to be strong, he needed her to be strong, "This is too big for you to take on yourself, this is more than you could hope to overcome."

She held him close, smiling and cursing herself. How could she- right! "Your cards, do you have your cards?" Yue looked him in the eye, trying to simply wish him to be strong, strong for her. "Were they among your possessions?"

"I..." Negi took a deep shuddering breath as he looked at Chamo, releasing Yue from her hug.

"Right here Aniki," said the young ermine, holding up the card case. "I found it in the pockets."

"Thanks." Taking them from him, he flipped the carrier open. "Strange I thought I gave this back..."

Pulling them out, he spread them open. "... they're... all here. Everyone. Even yours."

"They're also not blank, Sensei," Yue put her hand on the red-haired girl's card. The one that was important to sensei, "They aren't dead." She held it up to Negi, she wanted him to see the card in his hand.

"Don't try to summon them, you can't," Yue warned, she handed the card back to Negi. His students, if he had hope, that should be enough, right? "But they aren't gone! There is still something for us to work towards, right?"

No one was dead.

Everyone was alive.

The world might be gone but the people...

"Aniki, she's right. There's nothing you can do but to move forward." said Chamo seriously as he took a drag of the holo-cig. "Now then, what will you do?"

"... I..."

Negi looked up and smiled as he fanned the cards to look at them. "I think... yes... I think I'll see about getting everyone home again. Yue-san... let's do our best."

He looked down and blushed. "... I should... really turn back shouldn't I?"

That did it, he had something real to hold onto. That should be enough, she matched his determination, "Yes, for everyone, we must do our best." Getting him to smile warmed her a lot more than she would admit.

She looked him over, the Nagi form did provide a certain appeal. It was certainly less awkward for her personally. However, it was more honest that he take his form, and perhaps the rest of the crew will not put as much weight on him then, as he would himself. "Yes, it would be a good idea to return to normal."

Negi nodded and he replaced his small glasses before holding a hand to his chest. Magic swirled after a muttered release command and in a bamf of smoke, the teenager had shrunk from a fairly handsome eighteen-something to a young boy of ten, now on eye-level with Yue.

And he was swimming in his vastly over-sized plantsuit which was now hanging off him adorably. "Yue-san, I think I need clothes," he said with a embarrassed rub of his head.

Yue smiled a little, this was as close to a laugh as the girl usually got. It was hard to remember he was only ten at times, then came moments like these. Where it was hard to imagine forgetting that detail, "The suit is one size fits all, although you might need to take it off then put it back on for that."

She thought about it, "I'm sure we can find something other than the plantsuit somewhere..." She looked down at her own robes, slightly too large and horrible in color. Granted, she did go with the first things she found that were close. Fearing that she might not find anything better.

Negi nodded, pulling at the sleeves and rolling up the living outfit until he was in a fairly bunched up but baggy outfit. And then, quite suddenly it started to compress and tighten. Negi squeaked in surprise as it wrapped in close and formed to him like a second skin.

"... do we really go out in these?" asked Negi incredulously at the fairly tight fit.

"Well what do you want Aniki, yellow and black spandex?"
